Hows the handle when attached to the reel? Does it have a small play like what you can feel on the Vanford or on the Stradic Ci4 or is the tolerance similar to the Stradic FL?
To be honest been using Shimano so long I never notice any play. But to me this feels very secure. I got to take it out this past weekend got a few snook and bunch of trout on it and preformed flawlessly.
Doing a little more research, looking online and comparing it to my Stella's this is basically a lightweight version of the Stella
@@artificialslinger9730 the new Stella looks amazing and the features they incorporated sounds great but for the price let alone the weight, I cant justify buying it when theres cheaper alternatives that can be as good like the Vanquish.
Btw im holding off a bit on purchasing this since its due for a refresh maybe next year March but if I become too impatient who knows.

@@bestthingsinceslicedrice yeah man the new Stella FK is awesome. I don't own one but got to use it on the water side by side with my Stella FJ.
I honestly didn't notice any difference between my casts , performance or durability during the fights.
I personally don't see any justification to go out and spend another $750 I'm basically the same thing 😂
I was actually going to wait and buy the new Vanquish myself. But with all supply chain issues I just went ahead and bought the 2019 model. Which took me 2 years to get because of the supply chain issues
@@artificialslinger9730 thanks for confirming what Ive been thinking of the new Stella since looking at the schematics and seeing there has not been an issue with line lay for the older reels.
At this point its like just buying the latest and greatest luxury item. Its nice and beautiful but ill leave that to people with deep pockets and stick to the mid range.

Is the Shimano Vanquish a saltwater fishing reel only?
Technically , no , but most of Shimanos reels are considered/ labeled as freshwater unless it has a SW on it ( SW = saltwater ).
For example the stradic SW , twin power sw , Stella SW are saltwater reels.
But , realistically you can use the reels in saltwater just have to make sure you rinse them off gently with freshwater and do basic maintenance on them. Most do have parts and materials made with rust / corrosion materials to help protect the reels in saltwater
