📖 GLOSSARY: 📖
► False Vocal Folds: False vocal folds, also called ventricular folds are a pair of thick folds of mucous membrane that are located above the larynx. They close when swallowing to protect the lungs.
► Thin Vocal Folds: When the folds thin out when you go higher in the range. Also known as head voice.
► Falsetto: When the vocal folds are stiff and let out air.
► Thick Vocal Folds = When you are in your chest register (so lower than an A above middle C ish) the true vocal folds are thick, and therefore we call this thick vocal folds.
► True Vocal folds = Vocal cords. They aren't cords at all but folds of tissue and ligament, so we stay clear of you thinking they are like two ropes in your larynx.
► Larynx: the place in the throat where the Vocal Folds / Vocal Cords live.

Australia was invited for the 60th anniversary of the contest, and Australia transmitted the contest religiously for 30 years. They say 2023 was the deadline for the contract but I hope they renew it for more years because they are amazing contestants.
Hey Ronno! Oh wow I didn't realise that. How cool! I just find it funny, because they aren't in Europe ;) But very cool song this year!
@@ZoeStibiVocalCoach being in europe is not fundamental: israel is not in europe, nor Azerbaijan , nor is Marocco, nor russia.. but they compete (competed, in case of russia and morocco)
This year was actually the 40th anniversary of Eurovision airing in Australia!
@@ZoeStibiVocalCoach You actually just have to be within the so-called EBA, European Broadcasting Area, to be part of the ESC. That's why some Middle Eastern and North African countries are eligible to join even though of these only Israel and Morocco have ever participated.
Australia have consistently delivered amazing acts. I hope they continue. Australia may be as far away from Europe as you can be, but they're a great contribution to the contest.
I'm definately against allowing everyone in, but Autralia should stay the only exception. I want them to stay so bad.
Also, the intro is just hilarious: "Good evening Europe! Good morning Australia!" That has to stay.
One of my faves this year - you can be sure all the dads and those who remember the 80s would have revelled in this piece
Yes!!! Absolutely!!!
My father in love with prog rock and prog metal immediately claimed them as his second favorite when he saw them. And you know what? So did I, I am my father's son after all and I share his love for prog rock/metal. Our favorite was of course Lord Of The Lost and both of us shared our 20 votes between lotl and Voyager.
Voyager came 1st in the second semi final of Eurovision. 16 countries were in that semi and only 10 could go through, only with televotes. There were 15 countries in the first semi and the same with 10 qualifying in that semi. It’s the smallest amount of countries in this year Eurovision of 37 countries after the competition in 2014 (Copenhagen). Came 9th in the grand final, they did well with the jury, but struggled with televotes. I was so surprised, because there were so many strong songs they did well to be in the top ten 😁 I was super happy they did well 😎🤘🎸❤️
Thank you!!
Your welcome ☺️
It's weird some acts do really well in the semis and then kinda crash the in the finale. I mean, Voyager came 1st in the televote-only semi, but struggled with televotes in the finale. Running order and other acts make such a difference...
@@kennikitty That too, but there also really wasn't much competition in the 2nd semis
Finland definetly stole all the rock votes
Bassist here is the star for me. What a voice!
Kiwi just mad New Zealand isn’t invited 😂😂😂 love from Australia
I loved this group. Very 80s feel and this gen X's heart was happy!
No live instruments are allowed on stage! People have been all fake-playing them for ages, It would be to messy to change and prepare for the artists with that little time
My mind is blown!!!
You can sneak some through the microphone though, like Alexander Rybak in 2009 :P
all instruments are not played live. every time you see an instrument being played on stage it is an act.
Balls
That just really ripped my nightie to hear that 😭
I loved them so much. They were awesome. :D
literally obsessed with you and your wisdom
You are just too kind!
Loved your analysis! Awesome work! Voyager foreveeeeeer! ❤️🔥🤘
Glad you enjoyed it!
Why is Australia part of Eurovision? Coz their Epic !!!!!!
I was asking because they aren't in Europe.... then it should just be world vision..
This is just the tip of the Voyager iceberg.
Yes!!! I look forward to discovering more!
@@ZoeStibiVocalCoach they just released a new single, "Prince Of Fire", a couple of weeks ago during the Eurovision frenzy and it's 100% "80s synthpop meets djent prog metal" Voyager. So good. But in terms of an instantly accessible song with a much wider appeal, you're gonna want to jump on "Runaway" from a few years ago. It is, basically, a perfect song.
Why not? Australia are more than welcome even more if they present groups like Voyager! I have absolutely fallen in love with them
Voyager are awesome, just odd that they are in Euro vision. ;)
Still the rivalry Aussie & Kiwi
Lol very much a joke. ❤️
@@ZoeStibiVocalCoach If it helps: the singer is born in Germany. 😉
Australia are there as "guests". I'm happier with that reason than any of the other bullcrap ones. I don't think we should be in Eurovision, but I'm happy all day for Voyager to be there!
They are awesome! I am going to see them live this year too 😍😍
@@ZoeStibiVocalCoach Indeed. Their last two albums have been genuinely world class. My three favourite songs are The Fragile Serene, As the City Takes the Night, and Water Over the Bridge.
@@johnknight9150 I had never heard of them before. But I am excited to see them live!
@@ZoeStibiVocalCoach Well, welcome to the fold! :-) If you're bringing any mates to the show, apparently it's a great band for people who don't "get" metal to finally understand its appeal.
@@johnknight9150 lol everyone that I know definitely gets metal ;)
Verses sound like A-Ha.
Sorry 5 people on stage, ok
Lol definitely more instruments in the backing and more singers 😅
At their actual live shows, the electronic/synth sounds and some backing vocals are backing tracks. At Eurovision everything other than vocals is tracks, so you're not actually hearing any of the musicians in this performance.
