  • I have been playing a lot of Castles of Burgundy lately, and it has been having an amazing affect on my productivity and strategizing IRL.
By crossing the dynamics in the board game with the concept of a close d list: ( blog.workflowy.com/how-to-use... )you can create a simple and flexible daily throughput workflow that has been really accelerating my completion rate of high-value tasks.

So in this case your "Full Focus" list act as a smaller Closed Backlog of the Closed Backlog?

Yes and no. It isn't limited to things that are in my primary closed backlog, though those things can be in the Full Focus Closed list. The Full Focus list is for current moment assessment of the highest payoff items that I can or should be working on right now. That may or may not be things on my Closed Backlog. Closed Backlog items are things I've decided to do in general with my margin, and they will get done with certainty because the list was closed and there is a payoff at the end...for example, right now I am completely done with my Closed Backlog #9, except I have a weight goal of getting down to 189lbs on that backlog, which I am actively working on with diet and exercise...all the other stuff on that that list is done, so I think it will take me a week or week and a half before I hit that target...but if there were active things I could be working on, those would be in my weekly to do list, and I would consider in the moment...what are the 1-3 things I should be focusing on right this moment? and some of my Closed backlog items may go on there, but if I am needing to prep for a class I am teaching, or updating accounting or doing my taxes, or helping to prepare supper, those things might be what I put on there.
