Technically, only one of them walked across the stadium- they approached the central stage from all different directions, then left together as Annie Lennox entered from the other end (but the total distance each walked would be about the same as Gisele).
Incidentally, each model was dressed by a different British designer (except that the late Alexander McQueen got two, and his famous skull symbol was formed by dancers on stage while the models paraded). Vogue lists them as:
"Kate Moss (in McQueen), Naomi Campbell (McQueen), Karen Elson (Burberry), Stella Tennant ( Christopher Kane), Lily Cole (Erdem), Jourdan Dunn (Jonathan Saunders and Stephen Jones), Georgia May Jagger (Victoria Beckham), Lily Donaldson (Vivienne Westwood), and David Gandy (Paul Smith)"

Isn't that the longest catwalk in history? That whole time I thought, please don't fall. And of course she didn't.
It's not the longest catwalk- the London Olympic Stadium is bigger than the Maracana, so some of the catwalks to David Bowie's _Fashion_ in the London 2012 Olympic closing ceremony would be longer.
Well...the "London Olympic Stadium" does not have Gisele. That makes the Maracanã bigger ;)
Well I don't think is the longest. In 1998 more than 100 models walked in YSL clothes for the closing ceremony of France 1998 and in 2009 Fendi did a fashion show on the Great Wall of China and that was pretty long. recently Louis Vuitton did a very long runway for their resort show in Kyoto Japan. :)

The London Olympic also feature top British models but each of them did not receive the spotlight as much as Gisele's. Something with the bossa nova tune, the dark stadium, and there was gisele, in a gold dress that stands out, almost looks like gliding and floating across the stadium, is just magical.
