Break. Climb. Skate. Ride. The Olympic Qualifier Series is the ultimate stage for Paris. The two-part festival-style series will make its first stop in Shanghai on 16-19 May. The final leap for athletes to secure a spot in an Olympic Games. The results here will help determine which athletes qualify for Paris 2024 in breaking, BMX freestyle, skateboarding, and sport climbing. The Shanghai event will be a celebration of sport and culture, with music, fashion and art combining with the sporting competition to create a festival experience. It's a chance for fans and athletes alike to go watch and try different sports, experience epic moments together and meet a lot new people.
The Olympic Qualifier Series serves as the ultimate qualification stage on the road to Paris 2024 for BMX freestyle, breaking, skateboarding and sport climbing. In total, over 150 quota places for Paris 2024 will be allocated following the Series in accordance with the relevant qualification systems.
The Olympic Qualifier Series employs a points system designed to determine which athletes will secure quota places for Olympic Games Paris 2024. The International Federations are responsible for determining the rules related to the points system of their respective sports.
Athletes in BMX freestyle, sport climbing, and breaking will compete for a maximum of 50 points at each of the events in Shanghai and Budapest, making a maximum possible total of 100 points per athlete. Points from both stops will be compiled into a ranking for each of the sports, that will determine which athletes earn quota places for Paris 2024.
For skateboarding, the points system is divided into three parts: results from prior competitions and the results from the Shanghai and Budapest Olympic Qualifier Series events respectively. One-third of the points are allocated from past competitions, while the remaining two-thirds will be up for grabs in Shanghai and Budapest. The combined points from all competitions will give the final ranking. - Sport

on the olympics website you have to do a free sign up with your email and then you can watch all the streams (lead, boulder, etc) free!
i was quite sad that semi finals weren't streamed and now the lead isn't streamt either apparently? disappointing for people invested in the sport
i was sad about this too but then i discovered that it's free to watch on the olympics website; you just have to sign up. It's annoying but hopefully this helps if you want to watch lead or semis

Can't find this IFSC season replays in the app, can't find the OQS replays in the app, no Semi finals on CZcams, and no Lead finals, without an explanation. I don't know who are the decision makers behind all this, but it's terrible for the sport

IFSC have made it impossibly hard to find most event streams these days, is it geoblocked? is so what channel is it on in your country? is it exclusive to olympic channel? there's just zero signposting so fans miss out again and again.
Yeah huge lack of transparency and you wonder why in general less people watch the olympics. I dont know who is managing all that stuff but i think they are doing a terrible job and need some fresh people with better ideas

Was hoping there would be an update to watch the lead finals considering it's literally in the video title. Get it together! How can the official channel for the Olympics be run this badly?
I found the women’s lead section on the website. It works horribly, you can’t even put the video on full screen… And the upper part of the website is in the way of the video. I also downloaded the app, the video is not available on there. I would say if you don’t put up the full video on CZcams, at least make sure the video functions somewhere.

Just to save someone some time. I tried downloading the app linked in the description and once signed up i coild not find the replay for lead. Maybe I just don't know how to find it but i had no luck.

Matt is like Will Farrell's character in anchorman, just reading whatever someone puts in the cue cards. The event organizers decided to put the surname first for all the Asian climbers and now Matt's just calling all the Asian climbers by their last names and other climbers by their first. Like he's got completely no memory of announcing these climbers before
Or, news flash, he just likes (or is instructed) for the commentary to match the screen. It may not be about his own confusion, but that of others.

@@christophh9477 No he's not. Miho Nonaka's first name is Miho. Futaba Ito's first name is Futaba. He keeps calling them by their surnames, or full names, while referring to all the other climbers by their first names only. And only in this comp. Watch the last comp in Salt Lake City and he doesn't seem confused about what to call anyone.
@@chiuyan you miss read my post. Asians have their surnames first, others their given names first. So by using surnames for asians and given names for the rest he is consistently using first names for both.
Abslute rubbish boulders, there was no consistency in the difficulty, clearly set by amateurs. They created no separation between athletes before the lead.

@@veronikajecelinova nothing came up trying the search option so I tapped on what looked like an ad for the skateboarding which brought up a page about the Shanghai event. This then had a tab for replays....scrolled past a million random vids and eventually found it 🙄
