Kintsugi, also known as Kintsukuroi, "golden repair"),is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum, a method similar to the maki-e technique. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise (wikipedia)

2:39 I’m not sure if anyone had brought this up but here in the background she’s singing 今まで以上に強くなるんだ (Imamade ijyouni tsuyoku narunda), which means “I’ll/We’ll/You’ll become stronger than before” which is perfect for this song, and as a Japanese person I appreciate how she included japanese lyrics. This has a deep meaning, and it struck me hard. Kintsugi, is a form of Japanese art, in which a form of pottery is fragmented, and then glued back together. The glued crackes are then covered with some shiny metal, usually gold. The pot is a human. And because the pot is human, it cracks. Through hard times, we try to cover up our cracks, troubles, and problems. But instead of trying to cover our mistakes, we should use our mistakes, and embrace them to fix the future. Some times our problems turn us into incognetic monsters, that take us over uncontrollably. Mistakes have the power to turn you into something better than you were before. Don't hide your mistakes, or flaws. Everyone was born uniquely. You are a gift, and you are loved. We are all beautiful in our own ways. We all need to see ourselves. We need "Kintsugi" to refelct and improve upon our former being. However, most essentially, Love yourself. Love the people around you. Love you. Be bold. Be beautiful. Be you ;)

I absolutely love this song, but I feel like the video is missing a key part of the concept of Kintsugi.
It’s not about rewinding back to before the damage happened.
It’s about embracing the damage and consequent repair as a part of the story. The scars are part of the unique story.
Unbroken vases (or phones, or cakes) are not unique. A vase that has been broken and repaired is utterly unlike any other vase. It is it’s own thing, with its own unique past.
