Ok so if you're a 90s baby like me then Ghostbusters was something that you probably saw in all aspects of your childhood. Whether it was the films, the cartoon tv show or even just the weird and wonderful toys, the franchise had a massive impact.
Growing up I was obsessed with it and I remember as a kid being terrified of Vigo in Ghostbusters 2. Just something about a painting of a man looking menacing was absolutely horrifying and it's something that made me wet the..sorry...stay up late at night unable to sleep.
Unfortunately after the first two movies released the franchise just seemed to fizzle out and though I didn't really know why this was as a kid, there were a lot of things going on behind the scenes. Ghostbusters 3 was pretty much stuck in development hell for several years and though we got a video game that was supposed to work as a continuation of the story, things just didn't feel the same.
In 2014 Harold Ramis sadly passed away and when we got the Ghostbusters reboot in 2016, it felt like that was it in terms of a true sequel ever being created.
That movie was pretty much completely disconnected from the previous two films and though it had some of the actors from the originals appear in cameo roles, they were completely different characters.
It felt like that was it and that Ghostbusters would remain as a product of it's time. The original 1984 film is still a classic but after seeing the dismal 2016 reboot I thought that it was the final nail in the coffin.
However there was still some hope after death...or afterlife of the franchise...look I dunno, the puns ain't what they used to be.
This came when Sony announced that they were creating a sequel to the original two movies and that a movie would follow Egon's daughter and her children. Stranger Things clearly took a lot of inspiration from Ghostbusters and when Finn Wolfhard was announced it seemed like perfect casting. Add to that Mckenna Grace, who's one of the best child actors working right now, Paul Rudd and Carrie Coon and it did seem like they were attempting to do something beyond just rehashing what we'd seen before.

Best part of Ramis' return - that he did NOT SPEAK. That REALLY helped a lot, made it more serious and reverent. Extremely well done.

Absolutely more than that it establishes the (fictional) reality of being a ghost trying to project itself upon the universal plane. Great way to honor life, death, lore, and cinema itself. Havnt seen the film yet but after seeing this home run of a scene I definitely need to.
I still get welled up when I see that scene. They did it perfectly.
Saw this in theatres 5 times. Every time I went and the ghost of Egon appeared, the crowd cheered, and when Callie gave him a hug and the scene faded to the stars it got quiet you could hear many people crying and sniffling. It's one of the best movie endings I've see and it pays perfect tribute to Harold. Even the crowds applauded at his name. I am proud and fortunate to have attended and witnessed all this.
My dad has always been my movie buddy. So I Took My dad to see this Afterlife, I am 32 and he is 68, He loved Ghostbusters and he raised me on the two films, both of us skipped the 2016 film just after seeing the previews alone. Anyways, After the "For Harold" quote appeared on screen, I leaned over to him and with a chocked whisper I said "Dont worry, I am crying too". With tears running down his cheek, he chuckled and tightly grasped my hand.
This had been the most emotional either of us had gotten in a movie in a very long time, hell just watching the clip is on this video gets me emotional. Normally I can find little things that would make scenes better, but in this, It was just perfect in every way shape and form. My hats off to the filmmakers, they made one of the greatest reunions and sendoffs in Cinema in my opinion.
I know how you feel. I’m also 32 and my dad is 64 and we went to see the movie together in theaters. He actually cried watching this scene.

Thank you!!!! I had a initially rough time with my family. Alcoholism, cheating, fighting, arguing, etc. By my teens I was pi$$ed off and angry. I hated life. I took in Heavy Metal as my mantra and said too hell with it all! Then I sort of came back. But my now extracurricular activities were NOT GOOD! My Mom threw me out. I lived in a hotel at 16. Quit school like a IDIOT!! It helped though! I got it together for a while. My parents divorced TWICE, YES TWICE! The rehabs, the pain, it took a toll, but my Mom NEVER got over my Dad. She NEVER found another and until she died they remained friends and friends w/benefits. When she became sick, I was back home. I started getting more involved, I got scared. She had emphysema and over the next few years, 5+ she declined until finally she was placed on a respirator and needed 24/7 care. During this time and leading up to it, I tried to make up for my stupidity, but anger it hard to shake, for both of us. My Mom had a way of holding and remembering ANY STUPID or negative thing you did, and boy she'd use it. I learned that too. So foolish! So pointless! But when I was told she needed someone home 24/7, that meant I had to quit my job. I was actually doing well as a manager overnights and 1st shit for a time. When I told them the situation they said you need to choose, this job or not! I said, pardon my language, but F**K YOU! Jobs come and go, Moms are forever! I quit! Being the IDIOT I was I didn't know about the just signed Family Medical Leave Act. See what being smart and NOT READING GOT ME! 🙄 (Mom you were RIGHT!.....again) I decided to do something for her. I went and looked at projection TV's, big screens, etc. See my Mom LOVED her soaps 🧼 ❤ 💕 lol, and our TV 📺 was a 20-24" ?? A clod model that sat on the floor. So the screen was like 8-10" inches off the ground. My Mom just had a hospital bed delivered and I had it in the living room and that TV 📺 WAS NOT going to work. So I got a 4head stereo VHS 📼 VCR and a monster TV!🖥 40-45" inches, I forget but it was huge! It was delivered at 10:30am. I had to make a plan with the hospital. First they needed to have her brought home which they planned on due to her wheelchair and oxygen. Then I needed them to wait unti 10:30 to let her go. By 10am she was getting mad....but I knew they were coming. At 10:30 they showed, and by 11:00 it was ready. She got home just after 11:15am. To see her face! Her bed was right off to the side. Her soaps were at eye level and HUGE! I handed her the remotes. Showed her how to use them. I cried! Got her into bed and I watched as she put on All My Children at 1pm. Then General Hospital at 2pm. By 4pm she said GO GET SOME VIDEOS! And that began our MOVIE 🎬 CONNECTION! Her nurse was there to check in as was her helper. I had an hour so I ran to the video store and grabbed 4 or 5 movies. My Mom LOVED Horror, like Friday the 13th,🎃Halloween🎃, and action movies like Rambo, and I loved both as well as comedies. My mom LOVED Ghostbusters! She also loved Caddyshack, Stripes, and other movies Harold Ramis did. We became VIDEO MOVIE BUDDIES! 🎥 We'd rent anywhere from 4 to 10 tapes for 2 to 4 days and just binge watch!
We became BEST FRIENDS! My Mom was always a strong and loving woman! She was LOYAL! VERY LOYAL! But again she knew how to push buttons. But irregardless she always ALWAYS LOVED ME!! Everything she did she tried to do for my own good! I APOLOGIZE for the long comment. I honestly didn't expect to type this much. But more memories came in. I remember promising my Mom that I'd NEVER EVER put her in a nursing home. She was terrified of the abuses and the loneliness and emptiness. I promised her I'd NEVER do it! I didn't! But that's not to say we were perfect. Being in an apartment with someone 24 hours a day 7 days a week is tough. I had to help with bathroom cleaning, household stuff, and medicine distribution. I was certified a home health-care aid. Now what that basically meant was since my Mother chose to stay home, her insurance "interviewed" me and they paid me to take care of her. The insurance paid half and my Mom was supposed to pay the other half. I wasn't doing this for money. I was making double of what they paid me when I was managing so, and considering they only paid half it was $7.00/hr total , or $3.50/hr cut in half. A out $140.00 before taxes. $3.50x40hrs=$140.00. Enough of $$ talk.
What began with a punk. Me. A foolishly delusional kid, naieve, wanted to show everyone! I wasted so much! I can NEVER EVER fix that. I can't EVER change it now. My Mother was overprotective, smothering at times, but she NEVER EVER DID IT TO HURT ME. At times when the Alcoholism was back, it WASN'T HER BTW, however we enabled. There were brutally hurtful comments made. Things said, blaming done. It HURT! Especially at 5 to 8 years old. I don't BLAME ANY ONE! The Alcoholism caused so much pain. I am so very sorry about EVERY comment, every action, every foolish decision, and I wish to God I could go back, just to hug you and apologize! I know everyone said things, did things, acted foolishly, but I want to THANK GOD FOR ALLOWING US THOSE 5+ YEARS WHEN WE BECAME BEST FRIENDS. I thank God for letting us have so much fun, so many laughs, and all the wonderful memories these days gave me!

Sir thank you for your comment. Your memory that you and your Father have is so precious. My Dad and I bonded oddly enough over Mini-Golfing
after his illness almost killed him as well. That following summer, my Mom hadn't gotten really bad yet health wise, but my Dad did. It was the year he decided that he'd quit drinking! And he did! Except the damage it did was bad. He was in a coma for 15 days. He was in ICU for over 45 days. His liver almost failed. But he pulled through. However his insurance was "MAXED" out?!?! Apparently that can happen and he was sent home. So I worked from 9-10pm to 7:30am. Get home, give my Mom her medication, fix her albuteral breathing machine, make her breakfast, joke, talk for a bit. Then off to my Dad's. Help his rehabilitation program. Ooh he was cranky! But after he fell and smacked his head he became a LITTLE more compliant. .......LITTLE! LOL! Spring ended and summer arrived. My Pops used to love to fish, but he wasn't ready for a boat yet. We went to breakfast at a George Webbs Restaurant. Mmmmmmm! We'd both get eggs & hashbrowns (over-medium) occasionally I'd have ham. Ooh it was a greasy spoon, but it was sooo good! One day after I don't remember specifically who bought it up? Me? Me Paps? But I do remember Mini-Golf mentioned, and me Pappy jabbin' me about how he ALWAYS WON. It was ON! LOL! From that date 📅 forward, at least 5 sometimes 6 times a week we would start the day with a phone call(that was EVERYDAY), then we'd decide breakfast, mini-golfing, or BOTH Breakfast & Mini-Golf. On a few VERY RARE OCCASIONS, we did Mini-Golf then Breakfast then Mini-Golf again. FUN FUN FUN FUN!

You could tell there was a lot of love and care in getting the CGI Egon perfect. I think it is the BEST CGI of a real person made up to now. The way the Ghostbusters team went about it by making CGI Egon’s from the first film until no one could tell the difference then aging him decade by decade was a lot of work, but it showed on screen.
As much as I agree it really was a flawless portrayal of the character of Harold Ramis as the character of egon. It is mostly so perfect given the ghostly sheen they were allowed to use to artistically cover any possible imperfections with the cgi. In a way it is really exactly the most perfect way of doing such a thing because absolute perfection is imperfect. Allowing imperfections into our art is truly what makes it perfect.
@@FragRaptor I agree. The ghostly sheen is totally the thing that brings this scene together and make it satisfying. If they had brought Egon back in any other way like they did with the star wars characters mentioned in this video, it would've looked terrible and fallen apart. Maybe one day the technology will look flawless, but i probably still wouldn't want it. This was handled so perfectly, to a point that i could've believed that harold was still alive and performed for his ghostly character if i didn't already know better.

There is a matrix demo with unreal engine 5 when they show you how a 55 years old Keanu Reeve transform into a 22 years old Keanu Reeves....
@@cosplayshop Unreal Engine 5 is some impressive tech to be sure, but don't give it too much credit. The technology behind movie makers' CGI and UE5 are foundationally the same. Motion capture, 3D modeling, shaders, lighting, animation... there is no difference. The minor difference is UE5 does it all real time, while those using CGI have all the time in the world to edit and render their scenes. Technically the movie makers have more power here, because they can take as long as they need render their scenes for detail. But the major difference here is that Keanu is alive and well, allowing for detailed 3D scans of his entire face to be utilized in both technologies. That is unfortunately not available for actors who are dead like those who played egon and leia, and takes skilled people to animate them realistically. UE5 will not make that easier in any way. With that being said, UE5 is a powerful platform that brings powerful tools to more amateur users, but you still need skilled people and expensive technology bring out its best. I only say this because i have experience with using Unity and UE4. UE5 does not contain some magic tool to just make someone look younger or older more realistically with some slider function. Although, UE5 is huge game changer in my opinion, it's gonna be such a powerful tool for indie developers with what would be thought minuscule details like shaders, lighting, water effects, etc. It's outstanding.
Made me cry seeing they went to a great length creating Egon's ghost to perfection. The greatest tribute to the passing actor in cinema history.
I've broken down every time I've watched this ending and I'm not even that big of a Ghostbusters fan. They really nailed the tribute to Ramis.

In my head canon the Ghostbusters 2009 video game that came out on the 360 was the third movie disguised as a video game.
Loved it. When egon helped his granddaughter it gave me father and son Kamehameha. And the way the characters said their goodbyes and knowing the real life issues that existed makes this scene truly one of the best all time
And that they dedicated the movie to him
Honestly thought that they would have done a twenty one gun salute with the proton packs in his name.
I love how he just crept in like "You're not holding it right baby. Let Pop-Pop show you how he and the boys used to do it" then the quiet "it's ok boys, I miss you too" look he gives his friends before he goes made it a perfect nostalgic ending

Watching the ending, I got teary eyed and thought "That's my childhood right there!". I realized, as a fan, watching the old ghostbusters busting ghost together for 1 more time is all I wanted. Not a stupid reboot.
The scenes with Egon was the best, most respectful homage on a passed-away actor. Much respect was shown, therefore much respect to everyone who made the movie.
I honestly wasn't prepared for this scene. I was bawling uncontrollably. They did a great job

I loved Ghostbusters Afterlife. I loved watching the original Ghostbusters when I was younger and this movie brought tears to my eyes because Egon was my favorite Ghostbuster and it was nostalgic seeing the original cast and references from the first two appear in Afterlife.
Had a tear or three at the end I felt this was treated with respect and honour to Harold

Every time I see that scene, I can't help but tear up. It's very respectful and a love letter to fans. And it pays homage to Harold Ramis. R.I.P
The ending was my favorite ending of the series, when Egon showed up I couldn't hold back my tears of joy/sadness
As a Ghostbusters fan from the 80’s, I loved this movie so much! I bawled at the end, it was amazing to see the way they tied Egon into the story. And the original cast presence was well done. My Son, who is not a Ghostbusters fan, loved the movie and said, “WOW this how you treat your fans!” This movie is everything that Star Wars should have been - a love letter to the fans who have appreciated and loved the franchise for decades. At the same time, they introduced new smart, likable characters who can easily carry on in a new franchise while honoring the original actors. It was the best of both worlds.

I agree this last scene was perfect it was a great homage to Egon! I wasn't too sure it would work "without him" BUT this was such a beautiful scene!! I usually don't like sequels but this one was amazing. My twinkies loved it too and thanks to this movie they started watching the originals...

i dont think it's perfect. perfect wouldn't have been re-selling the first ending. and a bad copy too. perfect would be more original, and an actual comedy. idk why CGI copy of an actor is ethical for you. so perfect means, you lost connection with what perfect is
I loved this movie! I think the kids did a great job and Paul Rudd is always a win for me. Having the ending scripted as an homage/good-bye to Harold Ramis was so touching and reminded me that this medium can be beautiful when done with respect and heart.
The second half of the film was quite a callback to the past but the filmmaking is earnest and has a great ending.
I was crying at the end of this film. Throughout the entirety of it my sister and I were squealing and pointing out all the references.
I ugly cried. I laughed so much. Then what an amazing tribute at the end. A fun film then the end made it almost beautiful. Thanks for the tribute to Ramis.
I cried at the end. Can't remember the last time a movie did that to me, but seeing the group back together like that got me. I would hope that more in Hollywood would take notes on how to open the door for a new generation of characters while paying respect to the old, but I won't hold my breath.
I loved the ending seeing dan, bill, ernie, and harold on screen again. Only thing is it ended pretty abruptly & it would of worked better having the end credit scenes being the actual ending of the movie.
For me: I’m 35. I watched those movies when I was a kid and I grew up watching nieces and nephews and friends as they were introduced and every time I was able to see that same look I had on my face when I watched them for the first time. This feeling of joy and awe that you only ever get the best version of the first time you see something. This movie brought all of that back to me. I didn’t cry in the theater but damned if I wasn’t close to. It was…it was perfect for me. It was what I needed and hoped for.
What really impacts with this, is it's not only goodbye to Egon, a loved ghostbuster character but a real person in Harold, it's like their one and same and so it's very difficult to not shed a tear.
It was a great homage to Egon / Harold, and wiped the memory of answer the call sh&t show, and gave us hope for future Ghostbusters movies. I liked the post credit scene with Bill and Sigourney too. They paid tribute to some great moments from the original. Even Rudd ran like Rick Moranis did. I totally loved the film.

This scene when watching it in the cinema was the most heartwarming scene in the movie it really gave us the fans a sense of happiness and emotion can’t wait to watch it again
Absolutely loved this movie it was perfect. I bawled like a baby at the ending. The theater erupted in applause when Egon's ghost steadied Pheobe. I lost my dad when I was 12 his name was Harold and when it came up for Harold at the end the dam burst and I was sobbing lol.
I loved this movie. Ghostbusters was the first film I ever saw, so I have a soft spot for the franchise. I remember hearing of Harold Raimis' passing and just the significance of it, to me, was depressing. I went into this film expecting a tribute of some sort because of the "Afterlife" subtitle. I wasn't disappointed. Just seeing Ray was nice, but when all 3 came out, it was great.
The way Egon is introduced was just magical. I wish I could say that there wasn't a dry eye in the theater, but 1 - there weren't many people, and 2 - it was mostly full of people who didn't feel it. I felt it, and it was that stinging, warm feeling of seeing a loved one again for the final time.
While seeing the Ecto-1 going back to New York, over the Brooklyn Bridge, hopefully driven by Winston, with the gang, was a nice callback to the climax of the original (and hope for a Ghostbusters Inc. film), seeing all four of them standing side-by-side will forever be the way I remember the series ending.

Still gets me. Was a great ending. Seeing Peter, Ray, and Winston blasting Gozer, with Ecto-1 sitting there, lights flashing next to them was just an awesome scene, and the tearful goodbye to Egon was great closure too.
The final scenes were just perfect. You knew from Egon's expressions he forgave the other 3, he was proud of his granddaughter, and he never stopped loving Callie.
That ending was a tear jerker, it was the perfect tribute to Harold and when he hugged his daughter and slowly disappeared it was the closure he wanted

Seeing GB at aged 8 in the 80’s changed my life, I now am a full on movie nerd because of that film. When Ramis died I was so upset, I didn’t know him. But his character of Egon I grew up with. So to have this story tie up what happened to the ghostbusters and more importantly Ramis was so touching. I cried for two days. Easily the best film of 2021 👻🚫👻
I felt through the whole thing that this was their way of including Ramis as he is... not brought back alive which would be creepy, but on the other side and only manifesting in this kind of indistinct way. In Ramis’ case as a memory, in Egon’s case as a shade of what he once was. I’d seen a small spoiler suggesting the CGI for Egon was bad but I didn’t find it to be that way at all. The ghostly filter covers a myriad of sins that you might have found in other attempts and they didn’t even try to show him clearly while he was alive. They knew their limitations and took steps to prevent things that would take you out of the story.
I do think the story had some struggles and some plot convenience and did lean hard on fan service, but I was also 100% here for fan service. And my daughter really loved it.
I didnt know harold had died so when i saw the movie this scene made me notice due to the cgi that he must have died. But yeah this was great. i am hoping for more films in this franchise
I cried like a damn baby in the theater, and now watching this I cried again. I liked that they kind of created a firm line between the ghosts from the pit and the spirits of ancestors and loved ones, whereas the ghosts went back into the pit or whatever, but Egon's spirit kind of went up into the heavens. It was the best movie I've seen in years.
I’ve seen it ten times, and I cried all ten. Perfectly done, and everyone involved deserves top honors.
I just saw it last night and I got so emotional when Egon was on screen (the beginning & end of the film)! I couldn't keep my eyes from tearing up! The movie was fun, lighthearted & intense (when it needed to be)! Bravo, Jason Reitman, cast & crew! 🏆
I personally think this is probably one of the most classy ways to send off a character. Not only to pay respects to the person who played the part, but also retiring the character in an awesome way while keeping the spirit of the character alive.
it just felt right! like all the stuff with the granddaughter figuring out that Egon did before he died was nice and all the callbacks to the first movie due to a returning villain were welcomed, the ending just hit so hard for Ghostbusters fans because it felt like a true continuation of the series, passing the torch to the next batch of hunters. not to mention seeing the original 4, one being a ghost and being double ironic, was such a nice way to end it! i even felt bad that Egon was clearly right yet the other members thought it was too insane to believe. it made me tear up with joy seeing them all.
also helps it washed out the disappointment, spitting in the face of fans and the series spinoff/remake/reboot abomination that was the 2016 movie. THAT makes this movie leagues above that trainwreck.
This scene was just perfect in every sense of the word. The perfect ending, the perfect send off. I wouldn't mind if they continued the franchise or stopped it here because either way it's just a perfect fit.
My family and I just watched this Friday, my wife and I are 80's kids. We loved it, it was the prefect follow-up to the original. And also a wonderful way to bring in a new generation of films with new ghostbusters. I genuinely couldn't think of a better storyline. It was a worthy hat-tip to the original movies, the junior Spengler and Stantz stand-in were lovely nostalgia while being their own characters.
The movie had a very nostalgic feel for me and the last 10 minutes of the really got to me. My wife and daughter asked why I had tears in my eyes and I said it is a sad but happy ending to a story that started 37 years ago. I've watched it a few times since the premiere and still get the same emotions.
This movie was so good! Loved it! Loved how they made it seem like Ramis was there,even though he wasn't! The ending was perfect!
This is my favorite movies tied with Spider-Man so far this year. It walked the line of nostalgia and opening up to a new audience, and being able to give a bridge to us older people to share our love for this franchise with an amazing torch passing.

Just watched afterlife this morning (hellllo from County Durham!) and loved it. It could in theory have gone so different, but the acting and the plot were so good.

i absolutely loved the movie, yes it had some flaws, and i think it would have been nice to have seen the OG's in a scene or two earlier in the film other than just ray in the bookshop, but i loved it, and the ending was perfect, i just couldn't help crying both times i saw it in cinema, it was wonderfully done and sadness on dan aykroyd bill murray and ernie hudsons face looked so genuine
I loved this movie and honestly didn't know how it would wrap up but I was in tears when Egon shows up, the break in Rays voice when he apologizes, all of it was beautiful.
This is quite possibly the best movie of 2021. It was perfect, loving, and had more heart than anything I've seen in a very long while. Everyone gave a great performance. Jason Reitman loved Egon and it shows in every part of this film. I lost my father a few years ago and watching this just hit me so incredibly hard but made it somehow hurt less. Fantastic movie.

when egon hugged his daughter and her kids, it made me feel sad cause i never got that chance before my mom passed away on april 24th 2021. i would love it if i got hold my mom one more time. maybe someday when i go to heaven i will get that chance again.
egon's goodbye made me cry, i have seen this movie more once now and every time, i start to cry.
Was a little derivative, but absolutely moving with Egon / Harold’s spirit involved. Really ingenious way to include him and made the film a worthy successor to the first 2.

I’ve watched Afterlife three times so far. The first time was in the theater, and I was simply stunned when I saw Egon’s hand, then the camera slowly wrapping around to show him helping Phoebe. The way the music and sound effects came to a halt to let his reveal wash over the audience was a thing of beauty.
In the theater, it took everything I could to keep from straight-up bawling, but the tears that made it down my face proved that I wasn’t successful.
The other two viewings were in the comfort of my own home, and my tears were accompanied by a great chill down my spine.
The send-off for Harold Ramis was loving and absolutely perfect. The makers could’ve taken a wrong step at any point, but they didn’t.
I have a chill just thinking about it.
It was a really good sequel to the originals. Loved it. And the ending was great with Egon showing up. I hope there is a part 4 coming
I think there will be, if you watch the last after credits scene, they show the containment unit in the basement of the firehouse blinking red, which could mean it's not empty and about to fail, releasing whatever is inside.
I absolutely loved this movie! This is how you pay homage to the old cast, from a decades-long hit like the 1984 Ghostbusters movie, and connect the franchise to a new generation, unlike what Disney did with the Skywalker saga. Jason Reitman did a great job in continuing the work that his father did in reviving the Ghostbusters story and makes everyone forget how the 2016 gender-switched version almost ruined it.
Completely agree that it was the perfect send off for the character. I bought the art book and they talk inside about how they digitally created Ramis in his prime and then slowly age him. They had several pictures of the process (not in the book) and the cast said they couldn’t tell the difference between what was digital and what was real. Very cool but also kinda scary. Love the show, keep up the excellent work.
It did look good but as with all cgi you can tell. i didnt know harold had died so this scene made me realise that he was dead
The ending of Ghostbusters afterlife is one of my favorite moments ever in the movie theater. I completely agree that it was for lack of a better word PERFECT.
Can not think of anything I would change in the film, you see the love of the first 2 films all through the film, also loved the fact they let Adam from mythbusters do some of the props and do a lot of behind the scenes videos on his CZcams channel
It was super fun film and had enough nostalgia to make this 80’s kid happy. I was glad for the tribute for Harold. This film made us laugh and I teared up at that end, which I am normally not a cryer in movies. Having Podcast come out of then ghostbusters vehicle covered in marshmallow had me in stitches. It was a good sequel to Ghostbusters I & II.
Ghostbuster was my Childhood fav, I had the entire gear. I remember running around the house with my friend pretending to catch the ghost lol. I was so disappointed when they came out with the 2016 version of Ghostbusters. SO glad this afterlife worked out perfectly for me, it gave me tears watching it.

I think for me it was all the practical on set stuff, that basically set up that final scene that truly made it for me. I would've been completely fine with just that, or even just seeing his hands. They broke me when they showed him. It was so good, and so heartwarming!!

My heart raves when I saw Egon help guide the the proton beam. That was crazy. Felt and looked so real. I loved the team growing up and always wanted to be one of them as a kid.
This is the best video you have done, cried when you started talking about Harold and cried when I saw his ghost in the movie. This movie was my childhood. It was truly a love letter to the first two.

The moment i saw it in theater, i had one thought... Bills "I knew you show up" and Dans "Im sorry" and Ernie "You should have called" ... to me that wasnt said to Egon. It was them saying "Sorry Harold, we should have done this, while we had time"
I couldn't agree more. It was the best send off ever. We fans were given not only the reunion for one last bust, we were also granted the opportunity to say goodbye to not only a brilliant talent in Harold Ramis, but also to Dr. Egon Spengler.
And lastly, seeing how the torch was passed on in ALL points of view -- Phoebe using her grandfather's pack, to the late Ivan Reitman (original director of the first 2 films) acting as producer and having his son, Jason Reitman, direct Afterlife.
The moment Egon faded and the words, "For Harold" appeared, I not only teared up. I quoted from the original movie, "See you on the other side"
As great as the ending was, I think the post-credits scene did pretty well at setting up another future film in the franchise. I can see Dan and Ernie coming back for that one, as Bill and Sigourney's characters seem to be living happily together now
This ending was perfect. As a kid of the 80's , Ghostbusters was one of the best movies I saw as a kid. It scared me. Made me laugh. And fired up my imagination for years to come. I just hope we get to see another movie soon....Most importantly, it took away the rotten taste left in mouth from unfortunately witnessing that god awful remake back in 2016.
This was a great reunion from the original cast . I’m a ghostbuster movie fan. Seeing Egon (which is my favorite) that appears to this movie and honestly saying , can’t hold back my tears while watching him. Not just a great tribute for the character of the film but as a whole for this memorable movie . For those kids like me who has witness this first original movie in the 80’s , I’m sure that this is one of an unforgettable movie of all time .

Great film. The 2016 mess is an afterthought, doesn't exist in my universe. Everyone in this was on point. Would've been nice to see what William Atherton's Walter Peck from the first film, is doing. I was a massive ghostbusters fan,after watching the movies I then went on to get most of the toys and watched all the cartoons and gotta say you hit the nail right there on the way the honoured Ramis,it was done in such a way that fans could say bye but also not be like what the hell!!I loved the new film Afterlife and was definitely a great sequel,even the cameos,mini marshmellows included lol,great video by the way and a great watch,I have only just subscribed to your channel but do u do other films like Back to the future?

Hollywood and Studios need to take lessons from this film in how to give the fans what they want and makes us emotional, and want to spend our money to see a film with no stupid agendas in it.

Ghostbusters Afterlife had one of the most beautiful endings i've ever seen. I know Harold Raimis wasn't really there on screen, but somehow it felt like he was. Egon interacting with his friends and family was just heartwarming. Such a wonderful tribute to the man.
2016 only had a bust of him, piece of crap remake.

My dad took me to see the original when it came out (just the original Star Wars movies). When we had the chance to take my dad to see this one, we all left feeling the same way we did back in 1984. It was a great feeling.

Growing up in the 80's I loved everything Ghostbusters, but I didn't get the chance to see the original films in the theater. It was an awesome experience getting to hear the proton packs power up in that full dolby Cinema surround. And I'm pretty sure we were all crying at the end of this one.
