      Or Czechs. We statistically drink the most beer in the world (look it up). Much more than you Brits. Not even the Germans and Austrians are close; they drink like 50 percent less than us. Even the kids are allowed to drink - but only the head of the beer. We start early. But you rarely see people really drunk in pubs. That would be seen as very inaproppriate, and that you can´t hold your liquor. But I think us Czechs and the Irish would easily outdrink the British. You can find a Czech for trying this out, and it will be a CZECH MATE, haha, pun intended.

      I tell you what, I stay with friends in Denmark - the Danes put the Brits to shame (I’m a Brit) in terms of drinking, they love it, especially beer! Beer with every meal, its out of the norm if you don’t have one. Plus Copenhagen is a really cool city, the underground is awesome the front of the trains are glass so you can see the tunnels - but that probably says more about me …

      Thanks so much, we’re glad you enjoyed it! If the pub has a garden out back or a terrace area in front, or any privately owned outdoor area, then yes. But drinking on the street is actually prohibited in GB

      I googled lairy:" this adjective is used to describe people, usually men, behaving in a loud, excited and slightly aggressive way. "- just think about football fans, how they behave during a game.
      I don't drink alcohol either, but I am pretty sure you could order coffee or tea in a pub too. Or some juice. My husband likes Kinley, that is a nonalcoholic somewhat bitter tasting drink. Or you could order cola or some other bubbly drink.

I’ve seen an old dude walking around minus trousers, another bloke who regularly gets ejected for minesweeping, numerous fights often between blokes and women of all ages, the disabled toilet now has a code on it to stop people shagging in it, another guy who regularly can be found passed out on the pavement outside early afternoon. It all goes on I can tell you.

      I am from Kentucky USA. I went to visit another Kentuckian who was teaching there so I visited for a month. Found the best local places and made some friends. I was able however to keep up easily as far as drinking went. The Scots were a little harder with the single malts ( which are amazingly delicious) fortunately I am a hillbilly from the bourbon capital of the world and am of Scottish descent. So we had that in common. Great Britain pubs are the coolest gatherings on the planet. Germany next.

    Most people do not actually realise point 5 - every pub will pour you a sip if you want to try something before ordering it. Really popular in pubs that serve lots of import draughts and house ales, because there's tons of options and half of them you might not like.

    I'm not used to drink (actually I don't even drink beer because I don't like it😳😳😂😂) but I find interesting it's a place to go to meet also your family😍 not only friends or to see a match all together, on tv.
    Here in Italy is more usual to go in a bar, to see a soccer match, Cvd restriction apart, I'd prefer to participate in a karaoke or quiz night😍 and drink maybe a juice... Would it be possible?
    Other questions: are there typical differences between an Irish and an England Pub?
    How are considerated people who works in a pub? I mean, is it a good work or, about for example shifts, is it hard?
    Thanks a lot Mitch and Isy, love your work!!

    • @EasyEnglishVideos
      @EasyEnglishVideos  Před 2 lety +3

      Aww thanks for your lovely words! You can drink almost anything in a pub… you don’t even have to drink if you don’t feel like it, as long as you support the pub in some way. Some pubs will probably do mocktails and alcohol free drinks.
      You’ll find that most bartenders who work in pubs are doing it to fund their other projects. Especially in London, bartenders are usually working musicians, actors or creative types.
      Lastly, the main difference between an Irish pub and an English pub is there is usually some form of live music in an Irish pub. Whereas most English pubs either have no music or music from an iPhone.
