Tarantino was the reason I wanted to become a screenwriter. His words, passion and love of filmmaking inspire me to keep going and one day, I'll sell that script.

For those who might be wondering the script Tarantino's referring to at 9:23
this is an excerpt from the script 'Hard Times'
    --
    CAESARE'S FIGHTER
Hey, pops, ain't you a little old for this.
    Chaney drops his coat.
    Silence.
    The two hitters move out.
    Palms up.
    Caesare's man comes forward.
    Chaney feints, hits him once.
    Once is enough.
    Out like a match.
    SPEED
He's just seen the answer to a gambling man's prayers.
    --
It just shows how much affection and love Tarantino has for cinema.

I think Tarantino is a bit underrated because he is so entertaining - both in his filmmaking & in his public persona. It might seem like he isn’t underrated, but a lot of people who fancy themselves public intellectuals really denigrate his films.

Dry. I love that Quentin states that scripts can easily come across as dry. Trying to make a script 3-dimensional, alive and yet have it fit within the blueprint pages suggested (30 for TV sitcom, 60 for TV drama), is challenging. Landscaping the Final Draft pages to pop with life...
