  • The tow vehicle needed some help in order to stay level with the big ole trailer attached. So I took advantage of Black Friday and purchased a Firestone airbag kit for the rear.

Great review I have a F 550 with a Renegade Vercruz would that same kit work on a 550 as well. Second question does the air ride make the ride any smoother I can feel every bump on mu rig. Thanks Mike

Thanks. Nice to see the Firestone unit. Like the looks of it. Can you comment on the ride quality when you're not using the bags?

I just turn it to 5psi as the instructions say to keep it at that, and it feels stock.

Nice job you took you time to place everything in the right place, so how is it working now since it have been over 10 months.

It’s been great. However, some of the comments on this thread have lead me to reach out to Firestone. I’m hoping to have an updated video posted in a few days.
Basically they’ve designed and released new brackets and supplemental instructions (that also need to be corrected). I’ll discuss a little in the upcoming video.

why didnt you use the support brackets?

So I just installed this kit on my 2021 f350 king ranch and looks like you put the inside bracket that goes against the leaf spring on upside down. When I went to use the bottom bracket on the drivers side there was a bracket that holds a bunch of brake cables and such in the way on the axle. So I actually had to cut the corner off the bottom bracket at an angle so it would fit. Not super user friendly that’s for sure.

Yeah, I ordered another kit. While I don’t have the original instructions any longer, I’m inclined to think the instructions have had a revision. I remember going back and fourth off camera about this step…. As soon as I have time I’ll update.

The other thing I found that the instructions were wrong about was that they say the bags need to be put in the front hole on the upper support bracket but that would have really made them off center to the rest of the set up. So using the rear hole lined up way better for me. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I think you’re onto something. I looked under the truck and noticed a bad is not in the intended position any longer. The top is more forward of the truck while the rear is still in position. Thanks for the heads up.
I noticed your name had horse in it…. Check out my other channel I’m starting to spin up.

Okay, I finally got around to looking into this more. My install was correct. The updated instructions include both installs for Jounce brackets and Non-Jounce brackets. Since I have Jounce brackets, the way I installed was correct. However, they now are suppose to include an additional part. A rubber puck that sits inside the large spacer. I'm pretty sure this rubber puck not being there is exactly why my bag slipped.
Scroll to the bottom and there is a series of instructions and tech bulletins. However, the full black/white instructions are incorrect for Jounce Stop Bracket versions. The paper copy with the kit are accurate. What a mess they've caused.

Wanted to also ask why you didn't use the lower support bracket? I have a F250 and look to have the same Jounce Bumper Tongue which seems to be longer than the bracket to be able to install the lower bracket.
