    I have air lift installed on my 05 4runner and it’s good when fully loaded especially in the highway. Loaded with family stuff going to the beach for a 5 day outing along with 2 bikes on a rack. However when truck is empty it is so hard it feels like there is no suspension even with the minimum psi. I will try this product in the coming springtime.

      Jim, the Sumo Springs that I have on my F150 4x4 sit above the axel one inch and do not engage unless under load. When under load they engage and make all the difference in rear end sway, corner lean, and squat. However when pulling the RV the ride stiffens up and bumps in the road feel more solid!🤣👍 Not so much with the boat, it has half the hitch weight.

    Is there any sort of chart/graph indicating relative performance (Compressive Load / LBF - Compressive Strain % just like the one @2:40 in this video) at different temperatures to help someone in the midwestern US evaluate how these might do in the wide range of temperatures we experience at different load levels? Something like a 68 degree (common ambient room temp) vs 35 degree (refrigerator) vs 0 degree (freezer) charted would be very helpful. I love the concept of this product for a fairly light duty (2023 Nissan Frontier Pro 4x Crew Cab) pickup that mostly tows in Minnesota Spring/Summer/Fall but I'm curious if these will cause an unpleasant ride in or even damage the product in the winter months when we swing into the negative (F) temps in the depths of winter for weeks at a time?

    Have a RAM 3500 and towing a 15,000 LB fifth wheel. I feel like air bags, Timbrens or Sumo springs would all work when the trailer is connected but will Sumo springs make more of a difference than the other two when the truck has no load? I'm looking to soften the ride when no trailer is attached.

    • @SuperSpringsInternational
      @SuperSpringsInternational  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks Jim. Airbags will likely really firm up your unloaded ride, and Timbren is rubber so you could potentially see a negative or harsh unloaded ride there too. SumoSprings are designed to work when you load up, but leave you with a factory ride when unloaded.

      Hello! If you are not loaded down and/or towing very often, then the blue (-40) kit is the best option. If you are loaded down more than about 50% or 60% of the time, then the black (-47) kit is recommended. As for adding spacers -- you will need to provide our Customer Service team a measurement from where your factory bump stop is mounted, down to the contact point and they can assist you with special ordering spacers.

    Will this assist if you are running at payload capacity? I have a GMC 2500 HD rated payload cap at 3065. Bought a 5th wheel with unloaded pin weight of 2000. We will be right up against the payload capacity, if not slightly over. I know that you cannot increase payload capacity but will this help like a "helper" spring? Saw this recommended against the other guys product and it was said that this provided a softer ride. appreciate your feedback.

    • @SuperSpringsInternational
      @SuperSpringsInternational  Před 2 lety +4

      Hi Edward 👋🏼 You're right, this doesn't increase any GVWR, but it will increase your load capacity. Our SumoSprings are rated as "additional" load capacity. Meaning, when your truck gets loaded up with 2,000 lbs of weight and starts sagging, we add capacity to that to stop the sag, sway, body roll, and bounce. The beauty is, it goes to work for you when you're loaded up, but works in concert with your factory suspension when you're unloaded and doesn't affect your stock ride. Hope that helps! -Tom

    Thank you for this simple explanation. I'm currently researching on what to add to the rear of my 1998 Ford Econoline van, which is used as a daily driver plus camping. I carry around 1200 #'s when it's set up with gear and necessary items for off grid use.
    When I added a swing away cargo carrier, the van squatted with just the carrier alone.

    Question as to which one is best solution to following😁
    Have a 2020 ford ranger single cab. Travel with slide on camper 800kg weight but that comes off then only 100kg tray weight.
    Leaf Springs were upgraded to 350kg and now it’s extremely harsh ride when camper off and just 100kg.
    When 800kg on the leafs support weight height ok but: camper is bouncy and not supported well. I also can travel a lot of corrugated roads with camper and without.
    Without camper it’s dangerous and extremely uncomfortable and with camper it’s sags too much if road dips and rises (feels like chassis will bend).

      Hi John 👋🏼 You may see a slightly lower rebound on the spring, meaning it could take a little longer to come back from compression - but nothing so serious that performance would be hindered. As far as their longevity, we took them through a pretty rough torture test (czcams.com/video/wqF1JaauTTE/video.html), and then used them after with no performance change. I think you're gonna be ok!

    I have a 2021 Ford F-150 Fx4. I’m currently running Timbrens on it and I’m not happy. I’m looking for something a little less severe and gentler. Especially when pulling my camper on the old concrete interstates highways that make it feel like I have steel instead of rubber. Also, when i’m not pulling a camper, the jolt is pretty extreme when I hit a decent bump, when the timbren touched. I even took a 1” spacer out. Do you think your product will be gentler, but still support in my application?

    • @SuperSpringsInternational
      @SuperSpringsInternational  Před rokem

      Hello 👋🏼 Short answer is, yes. Timbrens are rubber which means they have a linear spring curve and push back hard regardless of how much weight is pushing against them. This means the potholes are rough and and bumps a felt all the way through the seat. SumoSprings have zero rubber in them; we use a microcellular polyurethane. It's a progressive spring rate that is designed to leave your factory ride untouched and then come into contact and go to work for you when you're loaded up or when you hit a harsh bump and soften the ride. For your truck, I'd recommend the SSR-143-40-2. This gives you the best unloaded ride as well as the best support for towing. The SSR-146-40 is also a great option! -Tom

    I have a 23' deisel motorhome with a rear slide out. The rear is sagging, I guess due to the weight of the slide-out. We are leaving in two months and will be towing a trailer of about 1500 lbs. With the rear already sagging will Sumo help me or should I go air bags? The motorhome has only 35000 kilometers on it!

      Hi Brandon! The question for us always is, how often? If you're loaded up all the time then it makes sense to get a heavier density. But most people hauling a camper are weekend warriors who like to keep their unloaded ride nice so we just about always recommend the blue -40 density. The SSR-307-47 is going to work well, and if you find that you need more, we can always switch to the -47. -Tom

    • @SuperSpringsInternational
      @SuperSpringsInternational  Před rokem

      We typically recommend about 1/4 to 1/2" of gap between the contact point and the SumoSprings. There's likely a larger gap for the rubber bump stops you installed because rubber is mostly linear in its spring curve, and unless you've got a good amount of weight against, it's going to kick like a buck. As for the install, we use our own bracketry and flip kit so you'd probably be switching the whole thing out. I'm not sure what vehicle this is for or what the spring height that you installed is, but it sounds like a Tacoma maybe? In that case, our SumoSprings are 4" sitting on a raised bracket of an inch. We can also add an inch spacer in there if needed. Hope this helps! -Tom
