So happy to see your vlogs at work. I graduated x ray school in September and been working for a month and just to let you know that you were a BIG influence in my life 💕 enjoy your vibe and your great encouragement words ✨✨
I am so proud of you! 🥹🫶🏼
How long did you go for ? I have previous experience in the Uk as a imaging assistant so I know a little already but need to go to school cause it’s the USA.
Really love this video, it really help me get a look into a career I'm considering. I'm coming from corporate, and don't think I can handle the competitive and hustly culture of it anymore. Finally going in the medical field like my mom told me to, years before I join corporate.
I spent 12 years in corp America and transitioning into Healthcare for the same reason. Wishing you luck on your journey!
i am in the same boat, also thinking about switching to healthcare - i hope all goes well for you!
I’m dancing to the sound of the machine 😂💃
Welcome back Julia ✨ I missed your work day in the life videos
Getting more excited to start my program! Thank you so much!
So happy to see you fufill your goals of tapping into MRI
I definitely love this type of content!
A nice work day in the life video, Julia!❤
Love these videos!! I graduate x-ray school in May!! So happy you’re posting again!!
Ahhh I’m so excited for you! It’s going to come so fast! 🫶🏼
So happy to see you post again! Love your videos.
I miss seeing weenie.
i would love more of these!!
I would like to see more videos like this, I love your content. I start watching your videos because I wanna go to school to be a Radiologist tech. I am a Medical coder and Spanish interpreter. You look very confindent doing your job. I like that.
Good to see this video,I am proud as a CT and MRI technologist.❤
Welcome back❤️
loved this!
Good morning Julia happy Saturday morning and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you and I enjoy your channel
Loved the video and the added little ASMR of the machine! If I worked with that sound I would start creating beats with it and dances 😂😂
Hahaha I think a lot of us techs have done this a time or two!
Can’t wait to watch ❤❤
Thank you for this video! I just found your channel, I am considering going back to school to be an x-ray tech or something similar and vlogs like this have been so helpful in my decision! I am currently in a corporate job and have been for five years. I really want to do something that feels like I am helping people and making a difference in people's lives, no matter how small!
Wishing you luck! :)
Glad to see you're back! Can you make a scrubs haul video for those of us in healthcare. I need new ones. Thanks!
Yes I definitely can!
I missed these!
Ooo I like the nespresso peppermint pinwheel pod with Starbucks white chocolate mocha creamer and the peppermint whipped cream from target.. tastes so good
That sounds heavenly 🤤
The best notification!
So cool to see! I recently accepted position that will train me in Mammography! Super excited!
That’s awesome! Congratulations! 😊
I'm planning to apply for MRI program. Love your video!
That’s so exciting!!
Thank you so much. This is a really good video. Too many videos trying to show "a day in the life" just ramble on about their breakfast and gym workouts, when no one cares about any of that.
I enjoy watching those vlogs!
Best looking MRI tech by far. Pretty cool open mri setup you got there too. Is that like a 3t?
Hahah. It’s actually a 1.2T!
MRI got a sick beat.
hahah it sure does!
i enjoyed. i want more content like this
Will do!
@@alexandria65 what?
Im currently in cardiac ultrasound but wanting to switch to CT/MRI. Nervous to go back to school as it has been quite a while 😅 feel like my brain doesn’t hold information like it used to and it feels weird to switch careers at 30 years old.
Hey Julia! I have always loved watching your work videos. I just started working in CT in September and I love it! I’m hoping to eventually cross train into MRI so I can then have 3 modalities under my belt. Take care 😊
That's so exciting! 😊
Hitachi oasis? I worked on one before it was good but abdominal work wasn’t great. I haven’t tried that CT scanner yet currently working on a Phillips ct machine.
Your scanner cold head sound has a nice beat to it. Lol
Our scanner kind of has a beat that to the "boots and pants" commercial of GEICO... According to a patient several years ago. Lol
Hahah that’s funny! A lot of older patients say it sounds like an old milk machine from the farms
That is a great description. Lol
I’m here for it 5/2024
I really think I want to go through with this field I currently work for sterile processing it’s a lot
ive been thinking of a career change and think i would like this path or lab work. definitely dont see myself being a nurse or in the er.
im probably going to start as a Med Assistant to see if i can work in health care as a career, then i can go to rad tech classes while working in the field already. is this wise?
Is that your natural hair color? So pretty!
How longue you studied mri
love ur work videos 😍😍🥰🥰🤩🤩
Did you only use rad tech book camp for study for the board ? Or did you use other things .
Did you study the questions in the learning lessons too ?
The images on that open look really good, better than I expected! Thank you for sharing!
Those images shown are from Google
The Open MRI images on an average sized page look great though
I am trying to get the license - I am so struggling right now
as someone who wants to become an mri tech, this was very insightful! what was your path into becoming an mri tech? i know that people can go to a community college to get an associates degree but the stigma of community college sets me back even though it would be faster and cheaper
Hi there! I'm about to graduate with an A.S. from a community college and I can say the ability to graduate with minimal loans (if any) is the biggest plus to community college. There are so many great programs out there! In my area, you need the associates from an xray program, then you can take the xray registry/boards, then from there you can move into other modalities like CT & MRI. You just need some training, you'll have to get signed off on comps, then you can take a boards & get certified in that modality. Hope this helps!
I went to a community college for their 21-month Radiologic Technology program. After graduation and taking radiography boards, I found a job that allowed me to cross train into CT and MRI. I did all of my didactic credits through ASRT
Hy i am Vivek indian radiographer student your videos so inspired to me 😊
If you don’t mind sharing, do you work five 8 hour shifts, four 10 hour shifts, or three 12 hour shifts? Do you work weekends and holidays?
M-F only. Five 8-hour shifts with no evenings, overnights, weekends, or holidays!
I want to do MRI Tech but have been told here in California I’ll need a CRT. Would you recommend X Ray School first?
If that’s a requirement in California, then yes I would go through an X-ray program first
hi i absolutely love the video. i have a request if you're open to suggestions to please show CT and MRI books and websites there's barely any videos on the same except your other vlog. YOUR XRAY VIDEOS LITERALLY helped me so much fr, can't thank enough for those 😭😭
ps- not a native english speaker pls don't mind my spellings
Absolutely!
Hey Julia
Kindly detail about QA of MRI and CT scan?
Comment your questions here!
@@JuliaKristine Q & A of MRI and CT scan machine (quality assurance)?
How did you get a job at a clinic? That’s amazing.
Connections and good timing! 😅 it’s a rarity and I’m beyond grateful
Hearing about your coffee and lunch all throughout the video made it so worthwhile.
And seeing that you wasted your time writing your silly, pointless comment only made this video engagement go up - so worthwhile! Thanks for wasting your time both watching AND writing this comment. Next time, maybe just click off the video and don’t be a keyboard warrior. Have a great day, troll. ☺️
Question , can having a ct scan cause your body to feel sensitive? Or it can it change your energy? Is it a high risk procedure? Then didnt add any protective gear they only gave me a padded pillow looking thing to put over my breast.
No! It's a safe procedure.
I'm not quite sure what you're referencing in regard to 'changing your energy'? It's not common practice to shield in imaging anymore, especially not CT. Every facility has different guidelines, though
Kidney MRI ?. What's the longest breath-hold on that test (getting a MRI on one of my kidney's and am practicing holding my breath to prepare for the real deal.
totally depends on the scanner - usually breath holds are 20-30 seconds if the patient can tolerate it
Hiee Julia! Do RAD techs clean up poop? I know thats a strange thing to ask LOL. Im a little stressed thinking if techs have to clean poop off of patients at all or even if a patient pooped on the table. I am going to RAD school in the fall. Im a bit scared of that bc i cant stand the smell 😭
yes lol we do barium enemas in xray & small bowel series, both can get messy sometimes. Just remember your patients are human and they never MEAN to make that kind of mess. My program director also told us all to carry around a little vicks vapo rub to put inside your mask. Works wonders! Good luck to you!
Certainly not. That’s what nurses are for.
GYATT!!!!!!!!😍😍😍😍
Hi, I’m an LPN potentially looking to switch onto Radiation Tech. Would you say your job is overall less stressful than a nurse?
Hi! I’m looking to join Lpn , dental hygiene or mri tech. What made you want to switch from nursing ?
@@QuellArionim not a lpn but a medical /med tech at a assisted living . But the amount of work delegates to me because our nurse was terrible at her job had me stressed that I no longer want to do lpn but radiology or surgical technologist. From passing meds, ordering med , med errors correction , resident pissed there not getting their meds because the insurance sucks . Dealing with hospice , residents dying on you , hospice not answering your call when a patient is actively passing, cna not coming and having to work the floor and pass meds. Lifting enormous resident and changing them yourself . Its just to much especially 1:33 ratio or even 45 sometimes and thats legal , No thanks Im good.
@@Iamanicajean omggg that’s horrible ! What about them when they knew what they were doing? Did they seem stressed and unhappy? 🙁 & I know I want to help others I just don’t know exactly what. If healthcare isn’t my calling tech definitely will be. Dental hygiene pays well but you have to do dental assisting and then that. More debt I occur🤦🏾♀️.
Hi I’m also interested in being a dental Hygiene but my fist choices is radiation therapist or MRI tech. I can’t decide!!😭😂
What’s the name of your associates degree? Not sure if everyone has the same
Radiologic Technology or radiologic sciences
Hi hello how to apply for ct or MR technologist job for Europe plz gauid me
Did you get a certificate or associate degree?
Associates
Please reply me sister is there any kind of side effects due to radiation while working in radiology department
No
How much do you get paid? I start college in a month for my prerequisites. I’m so excited!
I'm not comfortable sharing my salary! Plus, every state varies. If you look on GlassDoor for your state, you can get an idea!
Wishing you luck! :)
different for everyone you could be making more than this creator in the long run. 😊
How many times can you take the boards exam?
3
@@JuliaKristine what happens after? Retake the whole program over again?
@@user-ru5cm1tn8x After the third failed attempt, yes! It's $225 for the first attempt, $200 for second, $200 for third
Is CT/MRI tech same as radiology tech
Yes, I'm a Radiologic Technologist specialized in CT and MRI
@@JuliaKristine oooh Okayy, do we have to go to school again to specialize in CT and MRI
Free Palestine
Take your politics elsewhere
Asian scanners 😬
Thank you for these videos! I am doing my prerequisites, why is MRI your favorite? Also for the Nespresso, I am obsessed with Starbucks brown sugar shaken expresso. I love making them!!
I enjoy spending more time with my patients in MRI and not feeling so rushed! I also think MRI is so cool and fascinating! Xray can be very fast paced with very quick exam turnaround time. Oooo I need to try and make that soon! Thank you for the rec! 😊
