- After being fired in November 2021 (software engineer), I built websites every day for 900 days.
I struggled and wanted to give up multiple times, but luck found me somehow.
After building 23 tiny internet businesses (micro SaaS, AI tools, trackers) I'm financially independent ($121K/month). And I still code daily 😁 Here are my 3 productivity hacks.

Awesome attitude of "we all win in the end". Hats off for your consistency!
Well done Marc! Still waiting for how you design your websites 🙌 Good luck brother
It's coming in the issue of my newsletter this Saturday 🤩
You can sub to receive it here: marclou.beehiiv.com/
Ppl keep telling this is the same thing because we still love you and give that honest feedback. Wish to see it better gradually.
Just came across your channel marc, great stuff man!! Not sure if you have answered this question already but how do you find inspiration for new apps? Thats the bit i struggle with. Keep the content coming, great stuff 👍🏻
Wow. This is very encouraging. I've been there and after seeing your videos it has sparked a fire to start working on my own ideas again. Thanks👍👍
Love the content. Really enjoy being part of your developer community too. 1st product almost ready to launch!
Bro, you are smart. Come on now.
How do you make the UI / UX designs? Do you outsource it to a designer or do it on your own? What are the UX principles that really worked for you? Can you make a video on those topics
I do everything myself. And it's simple when there are rules.
Newsletter issue coming on Saturday!
@@marc-lou Cool
@@marc-lou thanks a lot for the news letter. Can you do another newsletter on marketing strategies. How do you do SEO? Do you use digital marketing to promote products?
Please create a live video about creating a successful startup/SaaS with just using Shipfast. It would be helpful for many of us.
0:41 Damn, why do I look 40 in this picture
Honestly props! Learned a lot from your videos I watched. I now have a broad idea on how to start my own journey. Thanks!
Where do you hang out (online) with other developers?
Great journey Marc! Very honest and inspirational. Quick question- For the business formation, are you registering your business in the US or are you a sole proprietor?
Love the video Marc. It's all these bite size thoughts or snippets you talk about that make it really fun to watch!
Plus also great to see people's journeys put in numbers. Like how many month did someone stay at $0, how long until first customer, when the first $1000 MRR. Actually we should have a public chart where eveyrone who wants can put their data in and the different paths are visualized ;)
Hi Marc, I have been coding lately although I don't know any basics of code.
But I have built 3 functional web app for my use case all with the help of AI tools.
I just give the ai tool the command and it does the job for me and once the code is generated I understand what it does for the project.
It's been really fun and I hope I would be able to share a similar journey as of you.
Much appreciated for the content that you bring along.
Kwep hustling 💪💪
Thanks for content. Please can you explain in some of next video where or how are you getting legal info for users? And how are you dealing with refounding or complains from users?
how man, this is insane.
What an emotional video :')
Bro, I swear that one day I will have math lucky with one of my projects, and it will be impossible not to refer you.
Great video as always, you really are an inspiration. I have one question tho, or a possible insight for future content: what would you say to non-technical entrepreneur who want to get into the same game? how can they start to move around coding and start delivering asap, with pretty much 0 prior knowledge?
Asking for a friend lol. No out of jokes, as a non-technical entrepreneur who has a lot of ideas but has to rely on others to make them happen (like building websites, for example), i'm super intrigued by ShipFast and by learning to do it myself as FAST as possible.
Bro, I found your channel just a couple of days ago and I'm in love with your content. As I'm studying to become a software engineer your channel came at the right time, all your videos give me such a boost to keep studying for 7 hours every single day. Thank you.
Also, if you come to Vietnam, Hanoi. Please, give me a shout, I would love to pay you a coffee and just chat away.
Peace and god bless.
Well done brother 💪🏼
So excited and I waiting for your Insta reply. You are really the inspiration for many of startupers.
What programming languages do you know & use besides javascript ?
Your videos are awesome, we really need more from this type of content. How you got product knowledge as a software engineer? Just time of experience or was something else?
NIce inspiration Lous🤩, So what tools do you use to keep track of all your start ups🤔?
i love the way you speak so "humble" 😩
sir what technology/ language should i learn to launche my product as soon as possible. i have some coding knowledge
Do you have any conception of the architecture before starting a new project ? I watched your live stream and I realized you jumped straight into coding.
Dang, I have a baby on the way and every single day is so hard to just show up after my 9-5.
This is exactly what I was needing to hear
Hey Marc, I am really inspired by you and I wanted to know if you would ever start a discord community for solo entrepreneurs that want to follow in your footsteps?
I respect you more for never giving up than for finally making it...
But I must ask: Can you create a tutorial guiding people through the actual coding of a micro SASS? I've just learned coding, but when attempting to create a product, I didn't know where to start. How did you know what to code for your startups? Are there startups I can start that would take me hours, not days?
I mean, I tried to watch through your Lives, but they weren't in a tutorial form... Just you coding. So it didn't help me out...
Marc you are blowing up! And it is well deserved, these vids are top notch 🔥
Let’s make a video
thank you
Luck = Opportunity + Preparation
I'm your fan! What app do you use to track your daily showing up that you show with green colors?
Just GitHub :D
Do you have a discord Marc Lou
Another banger, TLDR; show up every day and make your own luck.
This works with everything in life btw, not only entrepreneurship!
Are all you products available on mobile devices?
Yep
I love the part of the monkey that wants an instant result, hahaha automatically imagine his personality.
ive been trying to build a Saas for 2 years and i always think of a project which requires too much work for a single person... one day i'll get there maybe
I use Wix and I have a members area and a store. We're in the aviation industry.
You are such an inspiration!
thanks man
Has una web chat with pdf
Question: Do you need a moustache to be a great indie hacker? 🤔
Damn, u also watch him? Do u think this guy is legit?
@@mirjalol49 His moustache is sus, but his work is legit!
Build a saas from scratch no starter kit 🙏
Marc you should build a new software and let us watch you, you can still keep the high level stuff, but I'd like to watch you in the weeds. :)
Marc, I want to know your work schedule, and your gym routine, please 🤭🤭
Without employees, but have you ever or actively used freelancers or VAs?
2 months ago I started to outsource a few tasks like video editing. I spend around $2K/month
Please can you do shorter videos of you making stuff with shipfast!
These are getting repetitive but showing something like creating a simple site that has user logins and has a dashboard where users can have a basic to do list using mongodb would quickly show users how fast they can make something using shipfast
The live streams are great but the shorter videos would be more consumable for potential customers
Good, this is inspiration, just ignore the bad comments, this is the first video that I saw
🫡
I understand that you got a lot of new viewers and have to upload constantly to keep the hype. But id suggest you to improve your contents quality
What is the best way to not have expenses while you don't earn money
I think it’s important to mention you wouldn’t have this success if you haven’t built up your Twitter following before.
I think it's important to mention I wouldn't have built up a Twitter following if I hadn't had any success before.
People aren't stupid and won't follow just because.
People follow those who've done something inspiring or share something valuable.
Success creates your audience, not the other around.
@@marc-lou What were your successes before ShipFast?
I was under the impression that you were building your following more based on your practice of showing up and building in public rather than having big successes, so you kind of synced in with your audience. And then the bigger success came with ShipFast. Am I not right?
Can u make a video about jawline/ mewing workout? Luvvv
but why'd you get fired?
Because he isn't a good developer. Notice how his actual products make a small amount of money from going viral then fizzle out. All the money is from a Nextjs boilerplate, of which there are dozens available for free that cover the same functionality.
Do you have the link to those free ones with the same functionality? All I found on Google was some covering 1 or 2 functionality max. Would be helpful to have these. Thanks
" I got lucky " is a little harsh
oh okey lol
Mark l love you but not always the same content pls…..
Hey man , really nice video ! I was wondering if i could help you monitize your audience and help you build a community for your audience , let me know if that sounds interesting for you man ?
Marc Lou via his newsletter: I'm going to talk less about money.
Love the vids. Can you be my mentor?
Another video with the exact same content as the last few. Nearly your entire income comes from selling boilerplate, you are the definition of selling shovels in a gold rush.
Same video again? Such a good channel when I found it but I have to unsubscribe lol
Okay again nothing new.
Same video, again?
This was a wonderful video. Thank you.
Shipfast does not get any support. It isn’t worth buying it because he doesn’t care about bugs or stuff
The reason why ppl are doubting about you cos you are just repeating one thing. You are not making technical videos
Good insight. Next week's video is technical!
1hour everyday? lol
more like 10 or you will never be good at coding
Upload the same video every week, launch that video, check. I'm unsubscribing, i realized i learn nothing from these videos about "getting rich"
If you dig slightly deeper you'll see my blog where you can pick 90% of my brain.
