The Aberi ragaalapana was so excellent .so sweet and with the requisite elucidation of tone wherein raga rightly acted as basis of embellishment...made sweet melodic variations in Anupallavi and Charanam, maintained sustained tempo throughout the recital....the kalpanaswaram presented was very much enjoyable . The Thaniyavarthanam displayed the excellency of Pakkamelams. Best wishes to the singer - vocalist, who is also a trained vainika (veena player) and Hindustani classical singer. Though born in U.S, carnatic music runs in her blood while both her parents belong to a family of gifted musicians. I have read a newspaper report wherein she had explained how she realised on her mind's passion for carnatic music and finally decided to take up music, side-lining the rest of her interests.. ANANYA ASHOK had praised the audience of Kochi as she had performed many recitals there. As per her experience the Kerala rasikas are special when compared with the audience in most parts of the country where they will be would be selective about the kind of genre or language of the kritis they want to listen to. However, people in Kerala do not discriminate like that and are receptive to a variety of styles, languages and compositions.
