Fun fact about tornadoes: If it looks like a tornado isn’t moving, it’s coming your way. Be safe everyone. Prayers to those who lost they’re homes, pets, and loved ones 🙏🏼 ❤️
Some tornadoes are actually stationary though. Jarrell was almost stationary.
I’m from Australia- so this is so entertaining to me. Because I’ve never experienced this
I am from northern Wisconsin and we recently had a tornado that ripped through the north side of town. Did some tree damage and knocked power lines down. I remember it being black as nighttime within maybe half hour. My dad and I were out paying bills when we saw these storms developing. I am glad you guys are alright
We are glad you are also 🙏🏻
Stay safe
Oh yeah I remember
I'm from south Wisconsin
@Brenda Diaz same state lol
My friend almost had a first time tornado experience but the clouds passed and disappeared before the funnel cloud turned into a tornado. They were kinda bummed as they're obsessed with watching tornado videos since they never happen where they live. They said it was exciting but also scary!
Yay
!!!!!!!!!!!!♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
As a skywarn spotter working for the national weather service I’m surprised there was no extreme wind and rain but I’m guessing it was a weak one. Or depending how close you are to
It. Keep up the good work and stay safe! ❤
Praying that no one will get hurt in the tornado 🙏🙏
at 18:50 when he says “love you mom” that just warms my heart, i love whenever my kids randomly tell me they love me haha ❤️
Me too ❤️
I love that too and don't hear it enough from the teenager :-)
@@LoveJarVlogs this kid came up to me at an elementary school (I was there with my mom, picking up my older sister she's a teacher) and he was a preschooler and he said "I like you, you are really pretty " and then walked away
That is what we did as well, he was put on "school" bedtime this week, and he goes back next week on Sept. 1. We'll evaluate after the first quarter to figure out if he can have a later one, or we need to enforce an earlier one. One of the many things that I love about doing homeschool/virtual schooling.
I live in Virginia and I have never experienced a real tornado 🌪️ they seem so scary. I’ve only heard warnings and watches on other electronic devices. I’m so scared to hear sirens in my area. I really like these kind of storm videos but i am truly scared of severe storms. It absolutely would scare me if it was on the television. You and your family are so brave!!!
Thank you 😀
One thing to remember the tornado is usually not at the beginning of the storm. It’s usually after and or during the rain/hail.
Love weather vlogs. A good way to tell if a tornado might occur, it will get really calm and quiet. If it gets calm, the storm is intensifying in strength!
That looked like a shelf cloud. 🤭 Scary! Glad all is well.
You might be right, but it almost looks like an anvil cloud. The flat bottom, skinny center, and the elevated top.
im from texas and the march 21 outbreak was the first time I heard my counties sirens go off for real
Stay safe this storm season 🙏
I'm from Indiana and I've never heard tornado sirens like that. I've only ever heard the air raid sirens. I live in the Washington DC area now and if there's a tornado warning they only announce it on tv, and radio. If they set off air raid sirens around here people would think it's a nuclear attack or something.
I love watching your videos and the tornado ones always scare me. Last week my neighborhood got hit with an F3 and homes a couple streets over are no longer standing. The crazy thing is that we live in NJ and they never happen here! Scariest day of my life and I can’t imagine anyone having to go through that regularly.
Stay safe 🙏🏻 and thank you
Oh god
I was an exchange student in Oklahoma in 2013 when Moore and El Reno happened. I was 14. I am so grateful you take storms so seriously. Good on you Mama
Your hair looks amazing with those beachy waves. Getting ready for school and just got back from camping too. The struggle is real! Stay safe.
Thank you ☺️
I got back from camping to with my cosins
Торнадо это ужасно. Берегите себя ребята🙏🙏🙏. Сейчас очень злые времена, нужно быть осторожным
Thank you 🙏🏻
Fun fact about dry vs moist heat: Moist heat is best for compresses because it really penetrates your skin and gets to the affected area and gives longer relief. It feels goodgood too.
Wholesome vlogs, I love this. Glad y’all were safe! Tornadoes ain’t no laughing matter.
Thank you!
"Tornado Warning" is a scary thing to hear, even scarier if it's for your area.
the sky at the end was so beautiful
We just got hit by the storm and it was very powerful. Were safe tho, no tornado warnings! On tuesday a storm very very strong hit us and knocked our patio table over, uprooted trees, our flag pole was wobbling violently in the wind, we lost power, but we made it! Everything works now! Glad you guys are ok! Been a long summer 😅
It sure has. Stay safe as well 🙏🏻
We live in the country, the storm went right over our house and it was rotating above us. And I could hear the wind and it sounded like a freight train. Glad you all were safe and okay.
Thank you and you as well.
That storm was terrible in Dubuque it was really strong stay safe God bless 🙏 ❤ 💙 to all of you
Thank you so much 🙂
On September 7th, we had a very, VERY bad thunderstorm where I live. (aka Lansing, MI) My mom took me with her to pick up my little sister from school. I looked through the back window at the clouds and it was just pure darkness. Without power for 4/5 days... Glad you guys are okay!
Thank you we are glad you are safe as well
I remember that storm too. Live in Wayland,15-20 miles south of GR.
This happens more than you think here in central Ohio. A couple of weeks ago a tornado ripped through our neighborhood but thankfully it didn’t hit our house, but it did unfortunately hit my best friends house. Thankfully him and his family are ok.
Glad you all are safe. I am sorry about their house.
i live a few hours away from you and our sirens don't sound like that omg!! i would think the apocalypse is coming if i heard those. 😂
Lol 😆 they are pretty intense.
Ours is a loud beep but it’s hard to hear it from my house.
I do believe at 25:30 you were looking at a rotating wall cloud coming at you. Awesome footage! And those sirens are trippy sounding. Ours down here in Cedar Rapids are the old fashioned kind like what sounded at the beginning when yours went off.
Thanks it was definitely one of the scarier storms for me.
I concur!
We enjoy the storms as long as everyone is safe.
Same! I'm in CA but want to spend time in the states that get these kinds of storms.
Avonlea me also
I was at work when a storm like this came through last year. I'm up in northern Wisconsin. We had to evacuate our factory cause a tornado ripped a gas line open right down the street from the factory. All of our meat had to be tossed and we didn't work for 3 days! Glad you guys were safe!
Oh no how scary 😦
Idk if this goes for all counties and states. But where I live here in Michigan, when there is a confirmed tornado touchdown, Central Dispatch puts it out over the radio to all the sheriff's deputies and state troopers. One of the many reasons I invested in a police scanner. They'll also alert when our county is under the various types of warnings. In addition you can hear where there are trees down, power lines down, accidents, storm damage, etc. I just think it's a good idea for everyone to own a scanner for a situation like that.
Have you noticed the dark sky's don't bring anything. It's the lighter sky's that follow that bring the stormy weather.
You do have beautiful hair!! And I love that you are keeping it long. Not that many ladies can when they leave their teens and twenties, but you rock it!!! I had to cut mine ( which was very, very long!) when I turned 30, but still kelp it a good length. And, I know you guys know this, and probably most do, but I didn’t until a few weeks ago. Until I started watching your lovely family, I did not know it stormed so much in Iowa!!! I live in Tenn where we definitely get really bad storms. I seen a special on the Weather Channel talking about Iowa weather and why you guys get so many storms and tornadoes. It’s because of all the corn that’s grown there!!! All the corn puts off so much moisture, it’s sort of makes it’s own weather!!! Your budding meteorologist son needs to know that, if he don’t already!!! Stay safe and God Bless!🙏❤️
I will be sure to tell him. And thank you 😊
I'm a fellow Iowan and idk about you guys but this whole last week was just awful... first it stormed early Monday morning and knocked out the electricity, then Tuesday we had a horrible wind storm with 60+ mph winds knocking down trees and powerlines resulting in thousands of people without power, then 2 tornados Wednesday evening (1 of which just barely missed us), then more storms on and off for most of Thursday and Friday which resulted in the worst flooding we've had in years causing roads to be washed out, farms underwater, and even resulted in a train derailment...just glad its finally over and people can start trying to get their lives back together....
That’s what happened with that train 🚂 A friend of ours lives that way and was telling us about it.
Wow. That's scary! As someone who has an interest in these things, I can tell you a few tips incase another hits in the future (This goes for anyone too!):
1. I would recommend purchasing a NOAA Weather Radio. It'll be useful incase power or internet services go down, you'll still have information, receive alerts, etc.
2. When those sirens go off, you should always immediately go in a secure shelter. Some storms are faster then they appear.
3. Always always ALWAYS be prepared before hand. The best time to prepare is when you recieve a Severe Thunderstorm Watch. You never know when a simple storm may grow into a tornado.
Glad you guys are safe.
When it’s that’s still outside it mean you finna get a nasty storm
Hope that you guys are safe an sound. Take care guys
Thank you.
If there’s a severe thunderstorm watch, always look for circling clouds. I like to look for one part of the cloud and just watch it.
Wow that's a weather vlog 💯
Storms all week Wow
Keep safe from all here in Ireland ☘️🇮🇪❤️
Thank you 🙏🏻
Nice a Whelen siren going off in Hi-Lo for tornado warnings!
Yea
Whelen WPS 4004 Hi Lo
is a testament to their unwavering faith within its walls love abounds and the presence of the divine is palpable it is a place of refuge and renewal where weary souls find solace and troubled hearts find peace through their example this family inspires others to embrace faith not as a mere abstraction but as a living breathing force that permeates
I'm here in the U.S.A, and I had to experience a horrible tornado warning once.
The only time I had to is where I actually heard sirens and a lot of wind was picking up, even the internet was very low so I had to draw or read the bible during it. Turned out to work and calmed me down.
So tornados are common where I am in America:( (But I'm not close to Oklahoma, but a state close to it so not too far from the border)
My mom always said that there’s a calm before the storm and when the tornado comes it will sound like a freight train, but I’ve also heard that it will sound like a bear roaring. Ya’lls alarms sound like a Smoke detector from 🏴.
We’ve had a very active storm season here in Iowa. Yesterday’s storm (Thursday) was very strong it blew our front door open and debris was flying everywhere. It hit us around 10am, it was black and all the outside lights were on.
Stay safe fellow Iowan and welcome to the channel 😀🙏🏻
Stay safe😊😊

Hello from Cedar Rapids! We are finally getting storms again this past week. It’s been missing us this year. After the Derecho last August here I have no trees left on north side so nothing blocked anymore. Just recently found out living room window on South side leaks when rain and hail came from that direction. Watched window suck in and out during the Derecho and wondered if it weakened them. I stand outside recording at the start and did from Derecho until hit by branch. Love it! Thought of you with the Dubuque warning!
That Derecho was awful 😞 I am sorry you are still dealing with this aftermath.
There’s something called the bears cage, it mostly is behind or in front of the tornado, or both. If you look at the window and see a tornado, of course you take cover immediately. But if hard rain/hail starts to fall for at least 30 seconds it means your about to be hit by a tornado. I’m saying this in case there’s a tornado warning and you don’t know there’s a tornado, that “bears cage) is your last warning
Glad You Guys Made It Out Safe❤💜
Love your haircut and it’s beautiful!!! Love watching your videos and how you guys are with your kids and they are all amazing!! Love your storm ⛈ videos!! Ware I lived in Allentown Pennsylvania and we get good storm’s and that season is coming here too!!! Love how you guys do your family too safety too ware they need to be safe all the time!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wow, those sirens are terrifying.
They sound like a apocalypse coming. I know someone else said it
that is called Hi-Lo tone

Christy,
I live in Little Rock,AR. It's 82° here right now and it feels like 84, 61% humidity. We've had a lot of severe storms here the past few weeks. North Arkansas got hit with tornados. None in Little Rock thankfully. Much to you and your family. Love your videos. Love your hair.
Thank you so much and stay safe!
It's very scary to hear tornado sirens going off in your area. The tornado siren must be very close to your home because the sound it makes keeps on ringing close then it fades out. I've seen tornado sirens spin around and make a very loud noise. I really hope you are safe and doing very well. It's very stressful to keep telling your kids to go down to the basement when theres bad storms in your area. You have to yell there's a tornado warning please hurry and get down into the basement very quickly.
Yes and we have three flirts in our house so it’s yell and get their attention quickly.
Omg wow the green clouds are crazy
I live in NY so i do t even get tornadoes at all. I cant imagine the fear you guys went through. Im obsessed with tornadoes but if i ever experience one, im gonna lose it
Im near De pere wisconsin, i have heard the sirens but never seen a tornado with my own eyes.. i have seen funnel clouds when at the farm (was a farm in the 50s, but the name stuck). I think the coolest severe storm i ever saw was red lightning that happened about a year or 2 ago, everyone was outside watching
I’m glad you are okay
Aloha from Hawaii!
That was a super cell sitting there growing up⬆️ and those were shelf clouds that were in layers, dark at bottom and light on top. Usually when you see green sky's it's near a tornado. I always say if the sky is green 🟢it's mean! Also if you see clouds with bubble like bottoms it's a sure sign of 🌪s They are called MAMMATUS clouds. Google them they look so cool!
Mahalo for your channel!
Glad y'all safe big round of storms went through there
Thank you 🙏🏻
Hope you have a great day and hope you are staying safe during the storm
Thank you 🙏🏻
Watching this a year or so later wow those clouds are something!!! 😮😮
I live in Massachusetts and this past Monday we had 3 tornadoes touchdowns because of tropical storm Henri!!!!
None of the tornadoes was near my town!!! It was a long day!!!
I bet that was scary for a bit. Stay safe 🙏🏻
I live in Massachusetts too, I didn't hear about the tornadoes, where did they happen?
In Marlborough area I believe.
Hi there from Sydney Australia, stay safe during the tornado season!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Wow that's a Whelen siren doing Hi-Lo. Interesting tone for a warning. My town has the same siren but different tone for the warnings. I enjoy your videos.
Actually, the Whelens that are heard go off in Alert and then switches to Hi-Lo at a certain period of time.
It’s almost like the sirens in Chicago. Go check it out if you never heard it before.
It’s like ̄_ ̄_ ̄_ ̄_ ̄ ̄_ ̄_ ̄_ ̄_ ̄
and keeps on going
@@__wherearetheavocados That’s hi-lo. Not the same type of siren.

Love the approaching storm watch
Prayers! I hate severe thunderstorms because they’re the ones who spawns tornadoes! Usually we have those at night when people are in the bed!! Ugh! And unless you have the weather alerts on your phone, it’s hard to hear the alarm system in town.
I agree. Nighttime tornadoes are definitely the ones that scare me the most.
We don’t get tornadoes a lot over hear, the latest one was in London 2021, so they come occasionally (I really want to see a tornado in action).
Glad you guys are safe from the tornado 🌪
When you asked your Alexa to notify you of severe weather you woke up mine. Lol!
Lol 😂 I did that to several people 🤦♀️

Green sky is never a good sign! New subscriber and I love your videos!
Thank you so much 😊
I didn’t know that a tornado siren could sound like that
Btw I’m a weather nerd idk why but green sky’s are tornado clouds
yeah different places different uhh sirens. So thats iowa i think idk if i spelled it right, their siren sounds like thay
those sirens are whelen sirens, they are just big speakers on a pole, it can play anything you hook the speakers to
as a kid, i grew up just south of denver colorado. i never saw one because the conditions simply arent harsh enough
At least you guys have sirens. Here in my county in Ga, we have none and it’s very hilly so the likelihood of seeing an approaching storm is next to impossible.
A couple of years ago they said that a thunderstorm was about to hit my town but they said that it wasn't going to be very bad. Schools stayed open and when the thunderstorm hit us I was in school and the sky turned from gray to a very dark green color and it rained for 5 hours. It was raining so heavily that our parents were not able to come into the school yard to pick us up because it was full with water and they opened the other door to let us out
Wow 😮
I know its better to go outside to get the video of the severe thunderstorm warning moving in but it is also very scary and dangers to go outside when you are under severe weather 🎥🌫⛈👐🏻😳⤵️🌫⛈
Glad you Guys Made It out safe
This video is so awesome and I love the severe weather that I still draw pictures of the most severe weather
We never get tornadoes in west Virginia so for you that must have been scary! Hope you all are okay!
I literally woke up this day got dressed and started making lunch. ( I work til am so wake up around 11am -12 pm) noticed to the west it was a dark rainy looking storm coming. Wind picked up all of a sudden I was like ummm... Shortly after thunder started. It came and went so fast it was crazy. No tornados or hail just winds and heavy heavy rain. Noticed after it passed over us when it reached you there was a tornado warning so that is where I was like bet we will have a storm vlog soon lol
