    Thanks you for your comments! I do my best to keep up with them for the first few days after a video comes out, but due to the volume of comments on all of my videos, and to the general hustle and bustle of life, I must give up the fight after a while. If you are leaving a question four or more days after a video comes out I can't guarantee I'll see it, but perhaps one of my other viewers knows the answer and can help out. Thanks in advance to those who contribute and share their knowledge. Cheers and stay safe everyone!

    I own a Rebel1100 and I've seen the 1100T. The bike itself is great. The hard bags are not bad, but you can get better aftermarket. Same with the batwing. Honestly if they wanted to get these flying out the door it would be super easy, give this bike the silver wing treatment. Everything from the bags to the fairing are all better on that bike and then you just adjust the trunk for a passenger and boom these are flying out the door. As it sits now this is just an 1100 with bags.

    • @DifferentSpokesTV
      @DifferentSpokesTV  Před rokem +2

      Yep, good points. Still, having spent a week with both, if I was in the market I'd probably just get the T for the convenience and then look to accessorize it to my needs.

    • @nomercy4521
      @nomercy4521 Před rokem

      What kind of better fairing can you get aftermarket? The biggest problem I see is that none of the aftermarket fairings have the cuts to equalize the pressure near your helmet, which prevents buffeting. The smaller Honda fairing has the cut out, the large one on the T has the cut out, Indian and Harley are doing it on theirs.

    • @AyaWetts
      @AyaWetts Před rokem +1

      @@nomercy4521 buffeting isn't the same for everyone... depending on your height, the windshield and angles, it could be fine. The way I have my Memphis Shades batwing fairing set up, I get no buffeting.

    So there are a couple of reasons why your complaint that the gearing isn't tall enough isn't anything to worry about. 1. Unlike most other baggers it is chain drive... which means that you can change the gearing easy peasy by just putting a smaller tooth sprocket on the back or a larger tooth sprocket on the front.... or both if you want a really big change. With it's big power and low weight it can easily handle taller gearing. 2. The bike was designed to rev higher than your typical Harley type cruiser so even if you don't want to change the sprocket it won't hurt the bike in the least. So if you are someone who is interested in the Rebel 1100 go for it. If you dont like the gearing you can change it easily and cheaply. It's not even worth mentioning.

    Living in Europe i would absolutely consider a smaller more aggressive bagger. I agree though that Honda cut corners with this. Bigger fuel tank and slightly adjusted ergonomics would be perfect for this. The fuel tank is self-explanatory, but higher sitting position, one or 1.5 inch, wouldn't make it any less friendly to short riders, but would make it more friendly to rider's back and elevate a lot of issues with being cramped.

    Rebel is good for short trips, but long trips its just too small, too small of tank, and the chain is horrible for long distance. I've done thousands of miles in long trips on my Rebel 1100 where I added my own bags and fairing... and I'd choose basically any other "touring" bike... I've done a few trips on a Vulcan Voyager, and its night and day difference how much nicer it is traveling on that thing.

      @@cowmath77 wow, I’m talking about total cost in Canada. 18 k for a base model dct bagger that will have only a 50% resale value in 5 years. Not a smart investment when there are a lot of choices in that price range that will actually hold their value better and do a better job of touring. He even said the bike is to small for 2 up riding comfortably which is the main qualifier for a bagger. It’s made for 1 up over night or weekend trips only. Sure people cross the country on mopeds but they are not comfortable…and they don’t invest 18k into them ether.

    I actually seen one of these in the wild here in Oklahoma, USA where I’m at and from a distance, it looks acceptable if not, fairly impressive. Personally, I would have a blast on a bike like this even though I ride a Harley. I love the idea of a “bagger” but not the weight or the price. Couple that with the handling and performance and this would be more my style. The only problem is I’m not interested in DCT. I’m not against it at all, but if I had my choice, I want a traditional manual transmission with a clutch. Which is not an option in the states, HONDA! WTH? That’s a big mistake unless they are trying to NOT sell them in America? The vast majority of people who want a bagger, even a baby bagger, want a clutch too. That decision will absolutely impact sales of this model here. Big mistake, imo.

Anyway I’m not opposed to the idea of this bike tho I wud never buy one for a variety of reasons the main being DCT. An automatic motorcycle is simply a deal breaker. Defeats half the fun of riding. I have been riding for 40 years and get zero enjoyment manually shifting a bike. The DCT is an amazing transmission and can outshift many manuals. I have watched comparisons and it’s nit even a close contest. Most people fail to realize that the DCT has 5 different shifting modes and they all offer something different. You can even manual shift it with paddies. All formula race cars use DCT transmissions.
