LAPD can charge him with a home invasion, ultimately it’s up to the LA county DA to charge them with what LAPD originally charged the suspect with. Obviously the DA changed to a lesser charge. So now citizens of L. A. County has to live with these laws.
Should not be called assault with a deadly weapon, it's self defense, unless the homeowner was assaulted with a deadly weapon by home invaders.

911 dispatcher informed that homeowner prior to this incident to hang up run out the back door hop the fence a call from a neighbors house
Glad the homeowners okay and was able to protect himself hopefully they don't try to put him in jail for defending his home or family
