$2,379 is not bad considering the base price of the bike. Wr250r is close to 7k, so you are close to the amount if you purchased a new wr250r. Im sure it will out perform a new wr250r now. The KLX is a beautiful bike. If there is any small dual sport to mod out its the KLX.
Very cool! I have an '18 klx250 in camo with about 3.5k miles now. Only mod is the tst industries fender eliminator. Thought about modding the bike but I think I'll stick to stock for awhile. Thx for putting this together. I hope to have a video of my bike soon!
Thanks for checking out the video! I need one of those, by far the most requested mod.
Just bought a 2018 on Friday for 4200$. Only 870 miles. So far after 50 miles I'm loving it! Thanks for your videos
Also had brand new trailmax mission tires and the stock with it!
Congrats! There's so much to do to the bike. I'm still thinking of mod ideas nearly three years later.
YOUR A VERY GOOD YOUNG MAN A LOT LIKE THE GOONZQUAD BOYS , GOOD LUCK WITH ALL YOU DO .KEEP UP THE GOOD HARD WORK IT PAYS OFF.
Close to 1000 subscribers. Thats rad
Pretty exciting!
Haggled a pawn shop owner from Facebook marketplace down to 3750 for a brand-spanking new 2018 KLX 250, his kid put 251 miles on it riding around the block and NEVER took it on the road 😅 I put about half as many miles on it in two days as his kid did in two years lol
Looking forward to trying some of the stuff you do out 😁
That is an insane deal! I just can't get enough of the bike. It puts a smile on my face every time
I had to spend a little extra on my 351 to have the cooling jackets welded and redrilled. This improved headgasket fit
Good to know. I've heard people talk about the head gaskets on the 351. Mine seemed to fit well, and I haven't had any issues so far!
JH Motor Club lucky! Mine had spots as thin as .040
@@dasppg9737 Yikes! Glad you were able to get it to work. And good on you for checking that out first instead of going out and blowing a head gasket!
Can’t wait for 1k announcement!
I can't contain my excitement!
Nice list of mods. Just picked up an ‘07 with only a few cosmetic mods (tail tidy, bigger front handlebar guards and a mod to the rear subframe). Only 1,500 miles for $1,500. It wasn’t running, but I got her going with a $35 air filter. Ran up to 80mph just fine and wheelie only in first, but is a bit anemic on the low end. You have given me some good hit list items to work into the budget. Might rejet the carbs, headers and can then add a tune then see where we are at. Any thoughts to doing anything else? My first off-road bike, but do have a ‘20 RSV4 RR and a ‘11 Street Glide as well. Neither are stock. Lol
Congrats on the bike, sweet deal! The stage 1 mods really wake up the torque. Kawasaki Forums has some great information about the carbed bikes, along with lots of testing. I do have some other projects going. I have the KX, which I'm hoping to make street legal.. I have my car, and I have another project that I will be starting and introducing shortly!
Great build.
Thanks!
What dealer did u order ur exhaust i cant find anything :( fmf in stock
I bought my klx with bigger foot pegs and a sergeant seat. I have the 2018 klx250. Looking into what it would cost to bore it properly.
I would like some bigger pegs for sure. We'll see how my dyno session goes with the new controller and ported head. The new controller should allow for a better tune
All you need is grips and lever protectors and its fully decked either way it decked lol
I agree, clean up the front end and get a tank tidy. Then, all that is left is sumo wheels
When you added the Trex kit did you notice excess engine noise from the skid plate directing engine noise towards the driver?
I didn't really notice that. The only thing I noticed was the front of the skid plate rattled a bit against the frame. However, that's an easy fix by sticking some 3M double sided tape or anything soft between the skid plate and the frame.
Is there any tail tidy kits for these. The bike looks great but that tail section is an eyesore compared to the rest of the bike.
Yes there is. Not the first time I have heard that lol. It's not as important to me as the other stuff, but I should be getting one soon
So the 1,000 subscriber reveal ? My guess...supermoto
What happen if i put theklx 351 bore on my klx 250 with out ejk???
It will run way too lean. Definitely not recommended!
What mirrors are those? I hate the goofy stock mirrors on my KLX and am in the market for something like yours.
They are Kawell under bar / bar ends. I got them off of Amazon. However, the link I have is broken. Any bar end should be able to clamp onto the bars
I have a 2018 as well (all stock), I've been considering getting a 450 instead, how much of a difference did the big bore kit make?
Of course, in terms of power, the 450 and the big bore KLX are different. However, there is a HUGE difference in power when you add the 351 big bore. It takes you from being the prey on the road, not being able to pass people, to being able to "run with the predators". You can actually pass people when you want, in the city, and even on the highway if starting from say 65 MPH. You do not have to sit behind someone because you do not have enough power to pass them. When taking off, in first and second (even with my weight), it feels like it wants to buck you off a bit. I don't want to steer you away from a 450 because if someone has their mind set, that's what they will do. I figured I'd just throw my opinion in.
@@jhmotorclub6916 No I hear ya, I don't dislike the bike it's just so damn slow. Unless I really top out every gear I get nowhere near passing power.
That's true, you have to wring it out real hard when it's stock. Uncorking it is a noticeable difference from stock as well
What's the difference in the fuel consumption before and after the mod?
Before the big bore, I would get about 70 MPG. Now, I probably get about 50 MPG. Not too bad compared to my car, but it is a drop from stock.
@@jhmotorclub6916 Thank You pal stay safe and strong!
can you give code part for FMF Q4?
It is P/N: 042363
mine it KLX 250 S, can it fit on it?
What's the top speed with the big blues big bore?
I had it pretty close to 100MPH indicated, but I had to get off due to traffic
@@jhmotorclub6916 100 mph ... I put big bore 351. Bill blue, and pumper slide carb, it was as huge amount of money for a bunch of vibration. And I lost top end speed.. never never never ever will I do again..
Not upgrading suspension?
I will eventually. The stock one is setup pretty well for hooliganism. However, it would benefit greatly on trails and competition use
What mirrors are those?
They are Kawell Underbar/Bar end mirrors
Nice work but one has to wonder why not just get a 450 in the first place.
Thanks, I plan on making a video kind of explaining that idea. I guess, in short, it is fun to do more outlandish things and the 250 had a lower initial investment
@@jhmotorclub6916 Oh don't get me wrong, everything has a place in the world, and ill be the first to admit i love my 250, but to me, spend alittle jetting/fueling correction and a free flowing muffler and leave the rest.
Work on suspension and comfort for the adv riders, or style and skill for trails.
If i want/need more grunt ill get a 450.
Pro's and con's to everything i guess.
What 450 has the maintenance intervals that a 250 would have. Aren’t most 2 strokes that require valves checks and oil changes frequently?
I paid 5725 otd for my bike 🤦🏻♂️
I got mine right before the 2019's came out I think. It was a great deal
$2,450
Very close!
All those extras...... you could have brought a brand new 450 or a KLR650??
But he doesn't have a 450 he bought a 250
Well the klr650 is a heavy boring pig of a bike and a 450 is WAY too much for most people and an absolute nightmare on maintenance for street riding.
I put 15 tooth sprocket on mine
I think with a little more power, I would enjoy the 15T on the highway... lower revs and more revs to pull some speed!
JH Motor Club my rear tire is worn so the 15 tooth just compensated. It’s Identical rpms to speed as 14 tooth sprocket and full tread rear tire
@@dasppg9737 Ah okay, it would be great if the KLX could pull 105 with a bit more gearing, but I'm not complaining with the power I got now!
JH Motor Club I’m kinda nervous going past 70 on this thing. My last bike was a 2015 gsxr 1000 that I had gone well past 150 on multiple times. After having a high speed bike that felt so locked in, this klx feels all squishy and loose at over 50. I think street rims/tires would help a lot with that but they are pricey.
@@dasppg9737 Coming from one of those bikes, I could see how you may feel like that. Going past 70 isn't too bad other than the wind, but I usually wear earplugs if I will be on the highway for a long time. I guess it's all I've known so I do not have much to compare it to. I barely rode my Ninja.
i think i have around 1300 performance and cosmetic upgrades
Not too bad, it can be a slippery slope for sure!
