We used power glides set up like that with big blocks in late models over 40 years ago. Back then there wasn't a "kit". We had a transmission guy on our crew who set up the bypass plumbing and actually set up a valve activate by a clutch pedal. So we ran an automatic transmission but it had three pedals in the foot well.
