- Hello. My name is Johnny Roo and I love nostalgia, and from one game from 2005 I have very good memories, but the question is, does the Prince of Persia / The Two Thrones hold up in 2023? Find out in this quick game review of mine of this old Ubisoft classic.
Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones is a 2005 action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Casablanca, and published by Ubisoft for the PlayStation 2, GameCube, Microsoft Windows, Xbox and Java (mobile phones only). he Two Thrones is the sixth main installment of the Prince of Persia series, and the final chapter of the Sands of Time trilogy; however, it is not the last game to be set in its continuity. The story follows the Prince as he returns to his home in Babylon, only to find that his actions in Warrior Within have undone the events of The Sands of Time. The villainous Vizier is back from the dead and kills the Prince's companion Kaileena, absorbing the Sands of Time from her, which transform him into an immortal monster. Now, the Prince must work together with his past love Farah (whom he meets for the first time in this new timeline) to defeat the Vizier once and for all, while also struggling against his own Dark Prince persona, which is slowly corrupting him.

If you dont have time to watch the video ... basically 06:55 - 07:41 is this game in a nutshell...
The gameplay of prince of persia was way ahead of its time and still unmatched by any new games
I'd say the first 4 Assassin's Creeds are up there with them
@@WideOldDan tbf assasins creed had a very slow and clunky movement compared to POP. A few mechanics, yea, it did better (like the sky dive) but most of them were just less smoother than pop
@@sodabutnofizz1294 with AC you can play very smooth and quick with a few tricks. Mainly back and side ejects.
@@WideOldDan idk, ac wasn't just as fluid
Parkour was much better in Assassin's Creed, come on. Prince of Persia parkour was very clunky and basic, plus the camera angles were painful.
I wish we could’ve seen kindred blades. Don’t get me wrong two thrones is a great game but i feel like kindred blades had more potential. Also I didn’t like the combat of two thrones cuz it was mostly stealth kills like assassins creed, also I didn’t like the dagger of time being a main weapon tbh, cuz it didn’t do as much damage in this game but at least we didn’t have to take their sands while they were done.
Other than that this is a really good game and it ended the trilogy off on a strong note. My personal ranking from good to best is Two thrones, sands of time then warrior within
I do strongly agree on the ranking, have to do the other games and reviews aswell. Specially the Warrior within combat was great ... from what I remember!
@@MrBorisRoo agreed warrior within had the best combat, looking forward to the other reviews
Two thrones story was weak compared to warrior within
@@hardikgupta9105 I agree, if it was kindred blades it would be decent compared to warrior within
If Boris did video game reviews 🤣 love the video 👍
That camera looks so distracting. I remember playing on ps2, was so smooth. You get into a flow with these games.
Prince of Persia the sands of time just recently bought it on steam and it’s just how I remember. I’m so blessed to have grown up with the Prince of Persia Games I remember the day I found out there was this game Two Thrones I was so hyped in GameStop to get the Used copy lol
@DoublePlayReacts the Hype was real!!!
The thing with this game is, either you play it with a controller or with only the keyboard and map the buttons that moves the camera left and right to something easy to reach, but NEVER play it with a mouse... unless of course you install a specific patch released by a modder that fix the mouse's camera issue...
In the same boat as you. Just found out this was on steam and finally beat it after all these years. God this game is frustrating, I have no idea how I got as far as I did as a child.
@lukecliftonYT lol, exactly the same! #nostalgia
The knife hitting that plate in the dagger jumps is traumatizing now
@fallenangelmusic9208 i have nightmares now...
This game has some autohelpers put in place, you only need to stab the plate right after you jump, the game will initiate the animation correctly for you...
Pop ww was a hard game. The dahaka on middle difficulty was impossible to beat for me.
I'm am a die hard fan of warrior within
And yes the dahaka is very hard
Took me 3 tries to beat him when I recently replayed the game for nostalgic reasons
Why people dislike the combat system in this game? the speedkills grants you flow as opposed to barricades artificially placed every now and then like on Warrior Within...
Damn, the prince's voice doesn't match him at all.
Anyways, great video man! Keep it up!
Well, its not David Hayter... but if Jake could dub him, that would be cool! ... oh and thanks for the suppo, very kind regular human being!
Man pop sequel was my whole childhood .....I bought twt at 2005 still havin the cd the game was alot like mixed portion of sands of time and warrior within ....some people at that time liked sands of time then warrior within ...prince was whole lot different in warrior within he's coldblooded guy in warrior within and the combat mechanics in warrior within man it was the best like forefathers of all combat system at that time ...warrior within felt whole lot different from sands of time ...And forgotten sands graphics was good combat was bad ....
Also the metal music in warrior within! What a blast!
I recently played worrior withing and the two thrones
And i had a blast i didn't bother with the first one i dont care for that game and everything is retconed in the story anyways i played it once and know what happened
But worrior withing is my favorite i love the dark atmosphere and the story of the second one is what i love
While it took me a week to finish it
it only took me 4 hours to beat the 3rd one with like 3 deaths max and got all the stealth kills and it is wierd because i was playing on pc and i originally played it on ps2 10 years ego wierd how all the muscle was still there even tho it was on a different platform 😂
Btw 2 of my deaths were at the end of the game where one of the holes in the wall is placed wierdly placed in the higher gardens
@ironic4910 Im glad you had a blast with these games, they are gems :)
@@MrBorisRoo absolutely
They are gems and a big part of my childhood
@@ironic4910 Currently working on XIII, but then I want to explore the other PoP games, mainly the "comic" reboot and how it stands!
My first n my favorite ❤❤❤❤ omg u r so bad at this... i did ps2 hv it o psp as well but im goooooooooooood😅
I don't know what you're talking about the gameplay was easy for me and I was on pc and I was 14
Exactly! It felt so easy when I was young aswell. I think I was 12, haha
i just finished sands of time and the two thrones again
Im thinking about playing the Prince of Persia reboot :)
@@MrBorisRoo prince of persia 2008 is pretty good actually the soundtracks parkours and environment the thing i dont like about this game is you just cant die even if you want to elika will grab you no matter what and the combat system is not for my taste i prefer warrior within and the two thrones style combat
😄😄 i bought the pc version. Grafics do not interest me so much. But the pc version is still nice for what it is. A tale is ruff around the ages but even sand of time hast for what it is nice visuals on pc. Buy them on pc max settings all the effects on and you will see.
The console versions even the ps3 version is horrible.
Prince of persia is not dead there are 2 companys who do games that were not far of the two thrones. Sekiro and jedi fallen order and jedi surviver has wall jumps now.
Who likes pop t2t can play these 3 actual games.
Nier automata is a nice game as well.
I beat Warrior Within again, first time in like 19 years. It's just as good as I remembered it to be and keyboard controls/camera issues are just as annoying as 19 years ago.
And I attempted The Two Thrones again and I dislike it just as much as all these years ago. No wonder it was the only Prince of Persia I've never beat. See you after the next 19 years, Two Thrones
True that! I have to replay Warrior within!
Please dont call this game worst
There is also “Best” :)
