Henry Catchpole, the Shakespeare of the car world.
I like to think that Shakespeare was the Henry Catchpole of Literature !
manojh sangar, Amen!
He and Chris Harris are head and shoulders above the rest.
That was the perfect closing line
@@WDLC1911 Jethro Bovingdon, and Richard Meaden are absolutely exceptional in their own right as well :)
guy wheeler, true! I feel bad forgetting Meaden.
Thanks for the reminder.
Porsche really knows how to make cars that I want but can't afford
James Buckey best Porsche is used Porsche.
@@Patryk_Luna best used Porsche is Porsche that as been used as used Porsche used to be used
986S will be good enough for me.
@@pauln1590 Best used to be used porsche is porsche that is used to be used as used porsche
this isnt even crazy expensive. its like two Golfs.
Cheers to Porsche for developing another drivers car that will be the talk of the year amongst its past siblings
catchpole didn't talk about the ultra long gear ratios = 140 km/h in second, 190 km/h in third gear. You can't use the gear lever properly. You are forced to short shift to not break the law, lose your driving license and go to jail with this shit engineering made by porsche. The purpose of a manual gear box is to use it a lot. With this car you drive in second gear all the time. You bunch of novices, blind fanboys without knowledge.
Lenso Prezole - Are you angry, babes?
@@lensoprezole5322 I used to hear that going back to the older 4.0s from the previous gen or two. They're geared high so they don't out-accelerate/compete with the much more expensive 911.
I don't know if it's "shit engineering" so much as intentionally neutering it, but you could always change the final drive ratio.

@@lensoprezole5322 people shit on the long gearing all the time, where have you been? It’s a big handicap but the rest of the car makes up for it. Did you forget that the 911 has practically the same gearing? With these 4.0 motors it’s less of an issue
Henry is almost poetic in his delivery, I for one would love for carfection to be broadcasted on TV, beats any car show out there by a long way
TV is dead. I like them where they are.
The HD out of my PC goes to my TV. No need for this to go anywhere else, it's freely available here for everyone!
@@joshb3929 haven't watched TV for 7 years....
Who watches TV nowadays.
Imagine Henry and Chris Harris working together. Would be perfect.
Henry in a new flat 6 powered 718 chassis? I've never clicked so fast.
Same! Considering how much he loved the Boxster GTS 981, this was going to be sweet 😊
Harry, from Harry's Garage, is more os a must-cilck... ;-)
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the analogy with the National Theatre at the end! Hats off, Mr. Catchpole! 🎩
I appreciated that one, yes.
4:42 I love the time and effort Carfection put into editing these videos! We're all here cause we love cars, but the creativity you put into these videos, while maintaining all content we need to know is unmatched (IMO).
The roof going up and down scene was just genius
The only review I've seen so far that focuses on the Spyder/GTS comparison... right to the heart of the matter!
This is what I’m hear for. Supreme work as always by Henry and the production team!
Porsche is quite genius. They kill off the six cylinder GTS and make it a four cylinder for the same price. Then they are revered as hero's when they bring th NA 6 cylinder back and charge way more for it. The Porsche way
Honestly... before watching any of your videos, I prepare myself a cup of coffee, turn my phone to "don't bother" mode, get comfortable, go to my room, put on the headphones, and just starting watching the masterpiece.
Yes very good review. Felt like I was along for the ride with you through the twisties and nice whipping by countryside and exhaust notes to boot ! 👍✔️
I'm not sure anyone else is making better car review content at the moment. Henry Catchpole is always a treat but the relaxed nature of the videos are just so watchable, plus the most important part is always just right; The car is shown, and heard, clearly and beautifully. Not overly edited. No loud music covering up the engine sound.
Well done.
Definitely one of your best videos yet. Loved the ending, it really wrapped it up in a nice bow.
Notice how he called it the understudy at the beginning. Nice circularity.
That’s what I call a car review. Prose and pictures = perfection.
Very whimsical, Carfection. I like the film work and it's an unexpected (although appreciated) addition to a car review. Nice work!
Thanks a lot Henry Catchpole and Carfection! The Macan GTS was cool, but this is the review I have been waiting for!!
Once again you can't go wrong with a carfection review. Add to that, the best car journalist in the world, Henry Catchpole, and you have a masterpiece!
No other review needed, cheers Henry you smashed it again 👍
Wow. What a fantastically well put together review. Can't get enough of these. Keep it up!
absolutely always enjoy watching these videos. Always informative, entertaining.
Always look forward to a Carfection video. I am a little in love with the 718 GTS as I miss my 981s. Really great production and quality journalism.
Congratulations to 1M subscribers! I’ve been watching and will watch this video once every few days until my 4.0 arrives at the dealer around June!
It may be pointless watching all the expensive car reviews cause I'm not able to buy a Porsche, but listening to a man really enjoying a car and driving with it is great. It's an excellent review once again. What I am missing on a lot of other review channels is the passion, they just talk about numbers and new unnecessary features you get nowadays. For me, driving is all about emotions, that's why I'm happy with my 200hp Gt86. It's sad most people don't get this.
Henry has so much class reviewing these cars and really appreciating them
I love all of Henry’s films but this one was just brilliant. Good work from everyone involved
Gosh I love this channel. Truly underrated. What a great review.
Not being a Porsche fan I still have to watch because the review is so well presented and produced! Well done Carfection!
Another great, entertaining, educational and classy review Henry!
Another fabulous review, thank you for not wasting time with anything but how well the car drives.
Another fantastic video. Great cinematography and Henry is great as always.
Keep it up guys.
Every time I watch Carfection, I'm pleased that we have that to ourselves and not to mainstream television...
The Mallorca 981 gts that You did years ago is one of the best emotional building cinematic, breath taking review car video on CZcams. I go back to it every now and then since day 1 I saw it.
I keep watching this because I’v ordered one - due in September. But….the way Henry reviews it is extraordinary!! A car review genius!!
Another Stella video guys, just on another level! So glad Porsche have listened to their customers (and lack of Boxster/Cayman sales) Sounds like the perfect mix of Boxster, throw some PS4S's on it and away you go 👌
Wonderfully poetic Henry. Super work lads :)
Finally a n/a flat 6 in the Boxster / Cayman that is attainable.
As always brilliant review by Mr.Catchpole!
One of the best car reviewers on the net. Gets straight on with the business, how the car drives. Well done sir.
Amazing machine👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Also amazing review, as always👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I like the change up of editing in this video. Very tastefully done
love the conclusion. Lovely video as always!
Excellent context as always and great reference to Olivier and Hopkins.
Wow, what an eloquent outro! Cheers! Subscribed!
Another masterful presentation Henry, lovely work mate. 👍🏼
There is somewhat magic to Henry's words..a brilliant match of action & prose
Great review, Carfection team! This is what I have been praying for - deposit going down!
You do amazing reviews ! I'm taking notes to learn!
Another great review from Henry (complete with an erudite ending). Who else was hoping he’d jump in the 904?
Just watched 6 718 GTS videos. Saved this one for last in anticipation of the best visuals, but it was actually the best review as well.
Wow was not expecting such high quality of a video
Good review. Looks like a great car. A big improvement over the turbo charged 718 Boxster GTS engine.
Night and day....
@Mr.BigBoss7 Easily to fix, put a sharkwerks on!
But slower.....
4 cylinder 718 Subaru sounding like the worst buy of 2018/19
Muleya Sialwiindi exactly ... I don’t know about you but I love turbo motors. I drive a straight 6 turbo motor (N55) and I love the turbo midrange thrust. Can’t beat that, sounds good (not great like this) also.
A little bit underwhelmed after the breathtaking videos that you have produced in recent months and spoiled us with, I thought that the potential next car of the year would get one of your more refined edits. That said, it was still enjoyable so, thank you. A special thank you to Mr. Henry Catchpole who is always a pleasure to listen to. Edit: Perhaps some of your finer music tracks injections would have helped transform this great review into one of your absolute best.
Great review looks like an amazing car, good job Porsche! Thank you guys great work great video!
it's good to watch the guys who create my car taste since old hard covered magazine days.
Carfection, and new media in general, shows that when you lower the barrier to entry, you increase the sophistication of the content. Paradoxical, and something I think nobody would have believed 30 years ago. But I sure am glad things turned out the way they did. Good stuff guys.
Great video. Loved every moment
As usual, beautifully written and presented. Cheers for that! Regarding the GTS, now that I've seen the 718 Spyder, it's a challenge to ignore its aesthetic superiority over the understudy. Additionally, I can only imagine how difficult it would be if I'd also driven it first.
very nice production, great video man
Man! your one of the best car journalist, I have ever seen.👏👏👏
Check out Jethro's stuff bro. It's less trying to be witty and more on point about the cars and driving experience.
Great review, informative and I really enjoy the humour :-)
Smashed it. You guys and Porsche!
So good. Absolutely brilliant review
Probably my favorite car reviewer, great video.
Awesome video and even better presenter.... Kudos
As always, brilliant video, my only complaint, please do more
I really feel better watching Henry’s videos. He tells his friend, the viewer, about a car in such a Britishly impish way, matched with beautiful scenery and camerawork. It reminds me of Tiff showing us how the luggage fits in the McLaren F1. This video feels Needell inspired when he’s sipping espresso in hand at a trackside “cafe.” But also when he’s just enjoying its gear lever, balance, limits, and looks. Well done, Mr. Catchpole 👏
edit was on point. beautiful
Still loving your style Mr Catchpole! Tremendous!
I've tried to follow you down a Welch B road before and know from this footage that not many people would have driven this car harder than you to gain proper road driving feedback. Think you should order one!!
*Finally, the right engine and the right transmission in the 718 Porsche!🙏👏🤝👍*
Brilliant Henry, as usual.
amazing review, well done!
Wow, that color is stunning!
This is it boys. This is the one to have. The sweet spot.
Well done Henry. Well done Porsche.
Great review. Porsche has made a great driver's car. That engine sounds perfect.
4:38 ...and that you can open the boot with the top up. Carfection, well named and superbly presented.
Another artistic review. Thank you
Fantastic review!
Great video as always.👍🇬🇧
Great review. You were made to do this!
You make decision making so much easier! Many thanks.Henry are you up for a lunch in the UK when I visit next from Australia?
Brilliant video 👍
Great review, love it.
Drive this exact model with a PDK at Porsche Performance Drives and your closing mark couldn’t have been said better!! I would take one of these home in a heartbeat!
Brilliant take on the gts 4.0 !
Wow! You blow Top Gear out of the water! Amazing content, on this type of cars I prefer this channel to Carwow
Magic analogy at the end
This was the review I was waiting for even though several other channels uploaded GTS reviews first. Mr. Catchpole's perspective is just better.
Exactly, this is the one I was wanting to see first 😊
Great review as always. One small correction, the 904 doesn’t have steel ladder chassis, it has a steel backbone.
HC is my fav car journalist another excellent review
Henry once again another masterpiece car review. How do you do it? Praise the 4.0 but yet still makes those that ordered a Spyder feel positive about having ordered one, - brilliant. Congratulations to those who are ordering a 4.0 - it is a fantastic car. As a former 981 GTS owner I’m happy they have brought the 6 back. Looking forward to seeing Henry driving the new Spyder or this GTS in his series “driving the best roads in the world.” Like he did in the last 981 Spyder and Boxster. I enjoy every car review Henry does. One of the best in the business. Cheers.
Very kind. Thank you.
Henry Catchpole Anyone who can invoke the Dance of Death, the National Theatre and both Sir Laurence Olivier and Sir Anthony Hopkins to answer “the question” in a car review video and has us thoroughly engaged throughout, deserves our praise . I have owned many great sports car but the Gt4 Spyder, er, 718 will be my last. I have asked this question on other forums and yet to hear a reply so will ask it again. Can you name a car company other than Porsche who is currently producing a mid engine, NASP, manual, convertible - Ferrari,Lamborghini,, Aston Martin Alfa, Maserati, Audi, Lotus, Alpine , Ford , Chevy ., Acura or any other Japanese manufacturer - short answer is no. Seriously I am interested to know if there is a manufacturer checking these boxes or if the Porsche is a unicorn. So I’m delighted to be getting the new Spyder and being my last ICE sports car will drive into the sunset, top down, and of course rowing my own gears. Happy motoring 😀👍
Great video as always! Informative, fun, and very well edited.
That forest green is an absolutely gorgeous color.
I have only hade the pleasure to visit the Dubai Porsche showroom, and to sit in all their new cars. From all the lineup, the Boxter , was that car that transmitted the feeling of a great, tight handling chassis.
Watching carfection is better then top gear
agreed..!!!
Great review 👍
Great job boys!!
5:45 - some great timing by the cars in the background!
Nice work Henry! Now let’s have an extended drive of one of these. I have a 981 Boxster and this may be the next jump.
Porsche Boxster Content that’s what I get for commenting on a mobile device while at a stoplight in my GT3😜. Really GT3 is just easier to spell!
Genuinely, I could spend hours listening to Henry Catchpole, even if he was just reading out entries from the 'high-weight paper and card' section of the Viking stationery catalogue.
