I just bought a 2022 850 V7 Special. Being a geezer I went for the Chrome and glossy blue paint. I thought it looked like a true retro bike. I am loving the way this bike rides. Great bike for urban riding and has enough go for the open highways here in the U.S.A.
Excellent Casey, your new bike sounds gorgeous 😍 great to hear you lov the way the bike rides too, I was really taken with it too 😎 I hope you have some fabulous rides together 🏍
I bought the exact same bike last July, 2022 model, same color and everything. My local dealer had one sitting there, just like that. Nobody was interested because nobody knows about Moto Guzzi in North America yet. They've been here for 2 years only, so dealer shaved 2000$CAN off sticker. I can't say enough good things about this bike.
I didn't go crazy on mods. Ditched the OEM mirrors for bar end mirrors (from Moto Guzzi, so it looks stock), a little windscreen to protect the instrument cluster that I find a tad too exposed to elements, handlebars for the passengers and delicious Agostini slip-ons so it sounds less like a sewing machine. That's it, now that's nearly perfect.
I say nearly perfect because honestly, the stock tires aren't very good. I'll burn them and go for better rubbers when they're done.
Otherwise, it's a blast. Nothing to scare you, but it's so easy to maintain with this driveshaft. I know the clunky transmission ain't to everybody's taste, but I adore it. And the seat, oh my God...why can't all makers make comfortable seats like that?
I don't miss the fuel gauge too much. I just fill it when the light comes on and, on my calculations, you still have between 70 and 90 km of range left when the bike tells you it's time for dino juice.
Between that and a Bonneville? That a hundred times. I'm not kidding.
Oh wow Jay, that's brilliant and great feedback, it sounds like you are so happy with the Guzzi and I can totally see why, they're great 🤩 I like the sound of the mods you have done, sound perfect to me, not too over the top but just enough to make a difference, nice 👌
@@BikerKazZ It’s such a nice rig. That being said, as soon as my slip-ons were installed, it was time to store the bike for winter last fall. So factually, all I did with it as of yet was a short test drive to make sure everything was tight and snug…and a couple of blips during the winter to run the engine and the battery.
So yeah, it’s -18c in Québec today. Working on my patience. :)
@@jaybou007 oooh yes, that’s a bit chilly 🥶 for riding!! Hopefully you’ll be out on the bike soon 🤞
@@BikerKazZ I admit I sometimes try on my new riding gear and my new helmet just to feel it coming. :)
Doctor, am I normal? Since I took that damn riding class, driving a car became so sad and boring for me. First of all, I can’t believe I use so much petrol to get to the same f’n place. Plus, this rig is taking so much public space just to sit there, waiting for me to use it again.
I don’t know: it seems like riding opened my eyes on how ludicrous cars are. If we all used bikes, we’d save so much space, petrol, primary materials, rare earths, microchips. And don’t get me started on trucks and SUVs.
@@jaybou007 I completely understand , winter can be sooooo long!😜
I bought a V7 Special and I love riding it and it makes me smile too. Sounds even better since I fitted Mistral pipes 🙂
That's great to hear how the bike makes you feel too, it certainly had that effect on me! I bet the Mistral pipes sound good 😎
Among the most beautiful bikes on the market in my view
Yes, I really love the look of it too, and it sounds beautiful also 😍
I have one of these and I couldn’t agree with you more. The sideways shuffle on start-up gets me every time. Looks like a great area for a ride. Fantastic… 🙂
I love that description, the sideways shuffle, that's so true and it got me every time too 🙂
Thanks for posting the video, you have captured what it means to be a "Moto Guzzi owner" I have a V7 850 Special and it takes no time at all to keep clean as the chrome is proper quality and keeps a shine on with little maintenance. (Not like some other bikes "made elsewhere," that I have in my collection! 😁😁) Ride safe!
Thank you, I really appreciate you saying that 😊 it sounds like you love your V7 too and I can see why 🤩
I own one and I am enjoying it so much.. it really got into me bit by bit and I am just in love with the bike.. I love the purring engine sound and vibration
That’s brilliant to hear, great feedback 😎 they do sound great and ride really nice too
I will be adding another bike to my garage next year and the V7 is on the list, along with the RE Interceptor and the Triumph Speed Twin 900. The look of the V7, the shaft drive and the 21 litre tank is winning me over.
Oooh that’s exciting and you have a great line up of bikes to choose from - keep me posted, I’d be interested to hear what you go for 😎
I swear m, with every video you do Kaz, you get better and better at this youtubing
Beautiful bike though 👌
Aww thank you Phil, I’m chuffed to hear you say that, nice to think I’m hopefully getting it right 🤗🤗🤗
Thank you Kaz! Looking to pickup my V7 very soon. ;0)
That's brilliant Matty, keep me posted on how you get on the with V7, it's a lovely bike, I am very envious!
Have road tested an MG V7 recently, the grin starts the moment you start the engine.
Thanks for the review..
Thank you for watching my review, I appreciate that ☺️
It’s great to hear that you were grinning when riding the V7 too, it definitely has that effect 🤩
@@BikerKazZ The MG V7 (Stone or Classic) was on my short list but purchased another well known popular brand
(Which I am very happy with)
However, It was only after a recent demo ride that I realised the MG V7 is something very special.
I have a bit of thinking to do now as what to do next? 🙂
@@mal8279 ahh okay that’s very interesting to hear 🤔
It was the Stone I rode. You’ll have to keep me posted as to what you decide
Great review thinking of buying a Guzzi.. sounds like you love it like so many other riders 😊👍👍🥇
Thanks Pete, I appreciate you saying that 😊 yes the V7 is a great bike to ride, I can see why they have a following - definitely recommend a test ride 🏍️ if you do, let me know how you get on, I’d be interested to hear
So you rode the demo. Liked the demo. But did you BUY the demo? I did 😊
This exact spec and colour. Best bike I’ve owned, and I’ve had H-D Sportsters and a Z900RS.
Yes it is good for touring. Did 1,000 miles on a tour to Cornwall, never thought I’d tour on any bike but this gives you the CONFIDENCE. The Givi Corium soft bags I bought specifically are affordable but very weatherproof and as stylish as the rest of the bike.
That’s brilliant to hear Rich, I can see why you think it’s the best bike you have owned. Also great to hear you go touring on the V7, I thought it was a really comfortable bike. Unfortunately I didn’t buy the demo but I would if I could 😎
Nice review picking mine up next week, I used to have a roamer so I am familiar with the character of the bike 😊
Thank you David , I really appreciate you saying that 😁 Excellent to hear you are picking up your V7 next week, wishing you happy, safe riding 😎
Glad you enjoyed your ride on a Guzzi. The 850 V7 introduced in 2021 was a decent step-up from the earlier 750 V7 on the spec sheet and the road (or so I believe, having never ridden a 750). I've put just over 2000 miles on my 850 in just over a year and love it.
Thanks Jim, I really loved my time with the Guzzi, I can definitely see why you love yours too 👍😍
Any issues with it so far? Beautiful bike…
@@Victor-vf1fi nothing massive. Had a leaky rear shock and a(slightly) flaky downpipe replaced under warranty, and it got a new map
@@jimmarshall807 thank you for your reply? Should I get the 2023 stone? Tested it and it was beautiful
@@Victor-vf1fi that's for you to decide. All I can say is that I'm glad I got mine
Thanks for the review. It does have riding modes. That's what the MGCT(Moto Guzzi Controllo Trazione) bit is on the display as you cycle through...
Ahh okay, I was meaning riding modes as in rain, road, sport but yes you can adjust the traction control - sorry Dave, I will make that clearer next time 😁
The special version in white hits the spot for me. Best looking new bike I’ve seen bar none.
Weirdly I’m between that bike or a Himalayan 411 as my first bike (test planned next month)
oh that's exciting Neil, keep me posted on how the test goes 👍 see if you can get a test ride on both and you can see which suits your riding style the best
@@BikerKazZ will do
Thanks Kaz ! These new V7s have got my attention recently . I am 'old school' , the twin clock specials shouted buy me , they are gorgeous , maybe too pretty if that is possible ! The biggest let down on the looks of any V7 is the single Brembo disk . The Stone versions' single clock was not doing it for me . That was how I thought.... until your video in which you really showed what a decent display design the single clock has . Now I am wondering about cleaning all the chrome that the Special wears and what a pain that would probably be for me in our wet climate ! So now which V7 would I choose? Doh . Nice video , I subscribed . Cheers .
Thanks David, I really appreciate your support 😊 I was well taken with the V7, like you say, old school which is what I love too. I think the cleaning would be worth it, it really is a great bike to ride 😎 keep me posted on what you decide, I’ll be interested to hear what you decide 😊
Love the Guutsi 😎
I do too Gregory, I need one in my garage!
Yeah.. Goot -zee , like peet- za 😉
Thank you for awesome review! Subscribed ❤️
Btw, I saw your average consumption was over 79mpg. So, you can ride over 360 miles per tank. That's really something.
Ahh thank you Jenna, I really appreciate you saying that ☺️thank you for subscribing too, that’s brilliant 🤩
@@BikerKazZ Thank you for kind words. I visited your website too. I really liked your throughout reviews, especially those Oxford leggings. 😊 I didn't know they have long sizes. Its sad, I'm too tall to fit normal clothes, but now I can get leggings. Thanks to you! 🤗
That Knox summer jacket you reviewed looks stunning on you, like taylor-made. 😯😍
Too expensive for me though.
Ride Safe!
@@jennamoonchild aww thank you Jenna ☺️ yes the Oxford leggings are really comfy to wear too and great that they come in different leg lengths - I hope you manage to get some 🤞
What a lovely bike!!!! Guzzi's bikes are so amazing!! Thanx for the excellent review 👍 I enjoy very much. It is my favorite for my age and personality (50 years), to have chill and relax rides with class ✌. Do you thing it is beginner friendly?! Thanx and cheers mate ✌
Hey Alen,
The V7 is the first Guzzi I have ridden, I had so much fun riding this bike, it’s easy to ride and handles nicely too, I think it’s a great bike for beginners and experienced riders too, I would love to have one in my garage
Thank you for your kind comment about my review, I really do appreciate that 😊
I love it.
I do too Eric 😍
Looks like a great bike to own. I like the V7 and the Special equally.
Yes I would love to own a MG, there’s definitely something about them 😎
Awesome ride👌👌
I think so too Shohel, it’s so cool too 😎
Really fancy one of these
This was the first Guzzi I have ridden and I was well taken with it, a great bike, huge fun to ride, I can see why you would want one, I do too!
Cool ride
Thanks Nic, I think so too 👍😎
Hired one in Mallorca, crashed it into a car and it survived well. Very nice cool, bike
Ohhh! Hope you were okay too! Good to hear the bike was pretty robust 😎
got 6000 miles on my 2021 v7 850. its a lot more refined than previous v7 iii, the engine little bit smoother less viby actually. my wife calls that startup shake the shimmy
Sounds like you’re really enjoying your V7 too and I love your wife’s description of the startup shake, the shimmy is so apt 👍🤩
About to buy one. Any issues so far? Thank you
Excellent 👌👌
thank you 😊
Hello! I really liked your video. I have a question for you, is it possible to service MG without having a dealer, it's just that these are so unique and distinctive bikes that I just don't see an alternative to them? For more than a hundred years, bikes have been produced at the same factory, almost manually, who can "brag" about it now. Thanks!
Hi 👋 thank you for saying that, I really appreciate it ☺️ personally, none of my bikes get serviced by a main dealer, I have a local chap who looks after my bikes- I don’t have a MG but I don’t see why he wouldn’t be able to. See if you can find someone locally who would be able to look after one for you
@@BikerKazZ Thank you for the answer! The fact is that we do not have an MG dealer network in Kazakhstan, but I really like it, it is a very charismatic and simple bike, nothing superfluous. I'm 53, and this will be my first bike. I can order it from Europe, and we have quite a lot of motorcycle workshops with good specialists. Of the Italian brands, we have only DUCATI. Do you think I should buy a new one, or a two- or three-year-old one? And will there be a problem with the software?
@@tgs8459 perhaps you could have a chat with a few of your local motorcycle workshops and ask if they are able to service an MG and if they foresee any problems with the software. As for buying new or used, that’s entirely up to you and your budget - you could also ask your motorcycle workshops if there are any particular models that they would advise not to go for, software glitches etc from a particular year. Let me know how you get on, I’d be interested to hear 😎
@@BikerKazZ Thank you for the answer, my friend! I have already talked to several workshops in advance, who said that there are no problems, only spare parts and consumables will need to be ordered in advance. In general, few people know MG, they are not even on the secondary market. Of the official brands represented on our market, there are only BMW, HD and DUCATI, all other brands people order either from Europe, or from Japan, or from the USA. What strikes me is how such an old company as MG with a rich history has a poor dealer network even in Europe itself, not to mention the world. After all, many potential customers are deterred from buying these beautiful bikes by the lack of a dealer network. Thank you again, Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
@@tgs8459 yes, lack of dealer network would put a lot of people off understandably! I hope you get your MG soon and are very happy with it, keep me posted 😎 I hope you had a great Christmas too and I wish you a very merry New Year 🥳
Nice video, is a good bike for commuting honestly? daily use and weekend touring, of perhaps recreation purpose? you know about maintenance/ repair? expensive?
Any way great video
Be safe
Thank you, I really appreciate you taking the time to watch my video and comment ☺️ It is a great bike for recreation and weekend touring, not sure about daily commuting, it would certainly be comfortable enough for it. I believe parts are readily accessible but as to cost, that depends if you go to a main dealership or your local repair shop!
You keep safe too #RideSafe
@@BikerKazZ thanks for answering my question, can you compare it with Triumph speed twin 900? You have driven both, which one is most comfortable for daily use and what is your preference?
@@petroosabdollahian1648 hmm 🤔 that’s a tricky question! Both are comfortable bikes and I think they’d both be great for commuting! I think the best advice would be to get a test ride on both bikes and see which one you find most comfortable and that suits your riding style ☺️ let me know what you decide, I’d be interested to hear 😎
@@BikerKazZ Thanks, you will hear from me as soon as possible,
Have a nice Sunday
@@petroosabdollahian1648 excellent, I look forward to hearing how you get on and what you decide 👍 you have a great rest of your weekend too 😎
How is this two up? If my wife doesn’t enjoy it it won’t be around long
Hey Stuart, I didn’t take a pillion so cannot say, see if you can get a test ride with your wife so you can get the ok before you buy 😜
Nice bike but i wish RE interceptor would do an 850 engine have the 650 and thinking of trading it for this bike.
Yes, the V7 is a great bike, I can see why you would want to trade your re for it 😎
It shouldn't be the engine size of the Interceptor to be the reason for trading it in for the Motor Guzzi V7!
Go and test ride a MG V7 and see for yourself.
I just wish they hadn't put ride by wire on these new engines.
oh, I thought it seemed fine, rides nice
almost like a whistle sound , very long tank there, don't like the dial hence looking at the special
It's a great bike to ride, so much character.
Almost a whirring sound…I like it! Quite unique
@@peterpatrisson6847 I like it too Peter 🙂
is the whirring sound the gearbox or motor …?
@@Alex-io6ky I would say it’s the gearbox, just part of the character of the bike
Moto Guzzi not Moto Guzi
Yeah, kinda grated on my ears.
Mine needs a louder exhaust.. 👍🏼
Yeah I normally find the standard exhausts are not quite loud enough 😎
193kmh... Con scarichi Mistral shorts...
Nice 👌
Why are there so many reviewers that can’t properly pronounce Guzzy?
Because they are not Italian so pronounce it in a English way. We say Paris and don’t pronounce it the French way for example?
I love it.
I do too, nice bike to ride 😎
