My Executive Suite at the InterContinental Singapore

- On my recent Singapore adventure, I stayed at the Marina Bay Sands, the Ritz-Carlton, the Shangri-La and the InterContinental. Of the four, I thought the InterContinental Singapore (www.intercontinental.com/hote...) had the best combination of location, luxury, service and value. Here's a tour of my Executive Suite, suite 1624. You can read my full review in a future issue of Business Traveler magazine or at www.businesstravelerusa.com

Wow, being someone who's lived in singapore for 10+ years at this point (practically raised here), I don't think I've seen ANY Singaporean treat anyone as nicely as they treated you in the beginning of this video. Nice to see we have the ability to, at least!
Well, it may have to do with the fact that I'm there to review the hotel...
Luxury Fred fair enough!
wow what a welcome!
The best welcome I've ever received! For a great departure, check out my new video from the Shangri-La Singapore, they all came outside to say goodbye.
I stayed at this room before. The A/C in the bedroom was broken. End up sleeping the living room couch. Next day they put me in the Ambassador Suite.
Sorry to hear that. Sometimes things break, seems like they handled it appropriately.
Decor a bit drab and grey but sure a particular clientele like it
I disagree my strange friend. I found it very modern and stylish (for 2016). Thanks for watching and please subscribe to my channel!
@@FreddySherman Was 'strange' some dig? I guess you would find it very modern if you've been around a long while, wouldn't ya.
@@rickyanthony Your profile pic in your comment looks strange.
As a travel writer, I stay in luxury hotels around the world and found this IC very modern and stylish and in no way drab. The rooms are supposed to have a shophouse vibe, the traditional home with a store on the first floor in SG. In contrast, I found the Shangri-La SG very drab and dated. Even in the club wing, very dated. Here's a tour: czcams.com/video/8qmSHRgLNbM/video.html
@@FreddySherman Since that's a picture of myself in my profile, do you get off insulting people's looks? Or are we just having a bad day?
I've been to Singapore thrice and always stayed in hotels that were colonial feeling. Apartments and homes are on a different level of modern interior decor if looking for that.
@@rickyanthony I don't think strange is an insult. It's a very tiny pic so all I see is a white jacket and black hair and black beard, like a fancy magician.
After 5 handshakes at my arrival, I would go back into the car and leave the place for ever! Why handshake people? And why 5 in a row? Why not hug and kiss.(kidding) That's too much, so intrusive. You handled very nice, it came out funny. Tks for the review and kind behavior. They are energetic fans of you.
Thanks for watching and yes, they were all just excited to have me visit. I deeply appreciated their enthusiasm and hospitality and how they all came out to greet me personally!
You work for Travel Magazine No wonder all the staff were waiting for you in front entrance of the hotel, I been in that Hotel the services were OK not five star as you claim some of the staff were not acting as you call them. I was there in 1997.
First, thanks for watching the video. Yes, that's always a problem being a travel writer, as you sometimes don't get a real experience. But when I stay at a hotel, like IC SG, I notice service and interactions when I'm on my own, when people don't know I'm a writer, they just see me as another guest. I found the service here (and at pretty much every IC I visit) was really good. I interacted with the restaurant staff, housekeeping, front desk, etc. during my stay and thought everyone was very friendly and guest-focused. Sorry you didn't have the same experience.
Are you rich or sponsored?
why not both :)
Not sponsored, but not paying for all this myself. I'm a luxury travel and lifestyle writer for a few magazines, websites and www.luxuryfred.com, my blog, so the travel and other things are provided free of charge as part of my coverage or reviews.
