I receive my first Supernote (A6 X2) yesterday! 🥰 So far, I’m in love! I set it up and started using it right away. But I had watched several videos while awaiting delivery the last few weeks.
is it your first e ink tablet? I am wondering if I should get it. I use supernote a5x but I don’t like writing on it. I prefer to write on the kindle scribe or remarkable 2. Now that the kindle scribe has improved- I gave away my remarkable 2 to my kid. (HS student)

I just started on my eink tablet search since I already have an iPad and want to stop buying book and notebooks now to save paper and money. You really got me wanting this 😭 this is just what I need
Hey Brandon, always enjoy your perspective. I am a daily driver on the Supernote A5X and have been for 2.5 years. I've never used the A6X because of the smaller size. You asked about the pen loop; if no one has answered, I think they made it bigger to support the Lamy pen. That was a criticism of the early models. The highlighter I believe is only available in PDFs. Since Supernote is rolling many of these same updates to the older devices, I will wait for the A4 Slim next year.
27:45; such a great point. I've ran into that with me trying to use my RM2 and a paper notebook & planner at work. I still love using paper and pens, but it's frustrating to try to juggle a device and a notebook. Funny story, I worked on a project at work, and my boss wanted to see my notes and methodology. I was using the SN A5X at the time and a paper notebook; I couldn't remember where the notes were, lol. My boss is looking at me like I'm crazy when I was trying to explain I use these things. I think simplicity trumps all.
I love seeing this. Ive recently fallen in love with my remarkable but i think I'm switching over, there's just so much here that's so good.
I have both (RM2 and A5X) and I do love my RM2 but I’m enjoying the my A5X. Depending on your use case, tech savvy and more I recommend using them for a short period of time together. For me even with the FeelWrite 2 the remarkable writing experience is slightly better, I like RMs file structure better and I use a lot of pdf notebooks I create and one thing every time I get excited about the SN, I’m reminded I can’t add pages to my imported pdfs where I can with remarkable so I have to use their templates only to create a notebook. I’m saying all that to say, I encourage explore the SN as it is an good device but it’s not perfect either so don’t let allure of the focus on these new devices make you automatically abandon your RM2. There is just as many people selling their SN even with all its functionality too.
@@telockett9850 The biggest thing for me is that I enjoy traveling light, and it seems the A6X2 should be able to fit in my satchel which means I don't have to carry around a backpack for my RM2 when I am out and about. Also, because I am often out and about, the likelihood of losing the magnetic stylus seems much greater than the one on the Nomad.
My biggest concern for me is that I've heard bluetooth keyboards don't work great on the Supernote, and it takes a long time to see it refresh. I carry around a folding bluetooth keyboard in my satchel, but perhaps I'll be ok with setting up my phone with Google docs when I need to use a keyboard.
Hey Brandon - thanks for sharing this video review! I’m a fellow leftie and trying to look for a device that is accommodating for left-handlers. Given that RM2 recently released an update to support left-handers, versus SN Nomad which has both the hardware and software to support left handers, which would you say is best? Also, which device do you use personally?
As a righty, it’s super weird seeing a lefty write. You never see what you write! It’s immediately covered by your own hand as you go. Guess I knew this, just weird to see one of your struggles through your eyes. Great rapid review lefty. Big fan of the Supernote philosophy over Remarkable subscriptions.
it's more about how he holds the pen than being right of left handed.
i write in languages that are from right to left and left to right but i never cover what i right with my hand.
@@voice5sur5 interesting. I could see, seeing potentially one full letter when I imagine writing away from my hand. But certainly not as clear as if I’m writing away from the pen. Every stroke is immediately out and left in the open. But I’m sure pen posture is important to visibility.
18:52 Regarding the toolbar on the side I think it's because you can also rotate the device in the folio itself so that the folio pen attachment stays on your left side as well and the toolbar on the right side.

Hi Brandon. Happy holidays. How does the Outlook/Supernote calendar integration work? Can you make an entry in the Supernote and have it appear on your desktop Outlook calendar? Do you have to type on the supernote on a virtual keyboard or can you just write it? It would be great to see some examples! Thanks.

Remember that Ratta is constantly adding new features to their product line' software. More updates and functionalities will come in the next months, I think. They are super community-oriented. Despite of this, I think I'm waiting also for the new A5X2 in the next months (next summer 2024)... Thanks for the review!
Hi, do you think this is good for someone who likes to read ebooks and manga and taking notes of the content?
so recommend to get one if you don't have a 7.8"? Also can't you go to the ... and customize toolbar to remove that erase everything?
FYI, I got a rubber grip for this stylus and it's great. I found it a bit light without it. I got a clear one and it looks pretty nice. Pay attention to the size as many grips are for pencils and that will be too small for this. The one I got was a rubber style and it's a very snug fit, but not overstretched.

Seems like the touch isn't super sensitive causing you to have to use the pen to navigate the device. Is this the case? I use remarkable but considering the change as I would love to have some outlook integration and a little more flexibility and the main way I use my remarkable is an etsy planner template that is fully hyperlinked, meaning I use touch to navigate the hyperlinks normally. Can you touch on both the calendar integration piece as well as the touch elements of the Supernote?
As a lefty - do you prefer the supernote A6 X2 or the RM2?
Late to this party. I got mine today, on large part as a result of your videos, along with your other Amigos. Loving it. It is my first eNotebook (is that what they are called?). So useful. I'm hoping to get a desk notebook in the future, perhaps a Remarkable 3. But I tend to write in Moleskine sized books so this what I am used to. Thank you.
I usually say e-Ink tablet, but eNotebook fits nicely.
I'm so ready to get an e ink. All I do is write I love to write. I dislike buy so many notebooks and just the whole paper and pen experience. I love how the remarkable look. Seems like the same size at a 1 subject notebook. There's things in the supernote that I love that I wish remarkable would do. Like that pen I loveeee that supernote pen and the fact it has a backlight. I get most of my written down at night I don't like to keep the lights on to see. Idk I'm torn between the two. I have faithful been watching your videos on repeat trying to decide on my first e ink.... it's hard 😅
fwiw, I'm a lefty and have this setup. It's great. The edge doesn't bother the hand. I don't even notice it.
I'm interested to learn the battery life of this thing before I jump the gun and buy it. It probably won't arrive till next year, but I can wait.
in landscape mode, you should be able to drag and move the toolbar around so you don't accidentally hit buttons while doing gestures.

Do you prefer the heart of the metal pen or the push-up standard pen for this new device? Taking the price difference into consideration. One of the videos I watched mentioned how it would be less likely to break the push-up pen nib because it retracts back. Would you have any thoughts on this?
I really like the retractable pen. It fits with the on the go nature of the device, keeps the nib safe and is one less piece you could lose.

Even with real pens, I like the retractable, I like the clicky sound and also I won’t lose the cap lol
The loop is bigger on the LAMY version of the A6X folio. It looks like they just used the LAMY-sized loop on the regular folios this time around.

No, you can't do split screen at this time
Yes, the reading experience is the same except that there is a little bit less glare on the screen with the updated FeelWrite 2 film
The software is shared across all Supernote devices.

In notebooks, B6 is a size between those two, so they could start a B line of devices
I'm a stay at home mom of three littles. I'm seriously considering getting the supernote nomad but want to make sure its a good choice for my situation. Here's what im looking for.
-a calendar I can write on
-mark up pdfs (scientific journal articles)
-folder with several notebooks inside (homeschool folder with different subjects inside), my creative ideas notebook, journal notebook, sermon notes, recipes, grocery lists, ect.
-ability to print notebooks (can be cumbersome, not planning to do very often)
-write to text
-searchable text
-able to read ebooks
-abiltity to load or bring web text (no pictures) in from online source (not going to use a lot so can be cumbersome)
As far as e-ink goes does this sound like the supernote? Or would something different be a better fit?
You should be good with the Supernote.

The writing experience. So, it no longer bogs down. Great. But the previous did? My issue with the Boox Note Air 3C was that it felt like writing on a dry erase board. Therefore, I returned it.
So, when you say it no longer bogs down, please tell me it doesn't feel like a NA3C. ?
OK, I was debating on the SN vs Boox. So your saying boox is nothing like writing on paper?
@@chrishamilton1189correct, the only 3 devices now that actually feel like writing on paper (Wax paper), use to be was just 2 RM2 and Kindle Scrib and now the SN A6 X2 which makes it 3.

Hmm was gonna get a Remarkable2, but now that SN has a more paper feel screen with this new A6X2 I'll try to consider the SN A5X2 when it comes out. I'll wait for that review, then the the comparison video and get my finally decision then. Unless Remarkable announces the RM3 them I'll wait on that review to decide.
I know theres Kindles Scrib, but it's a Amazon product and just like Apple (I'm anti Apple), Samsung, Google and including Microsoft (I prefer MS over any of these brands), but I'm done with these big name corporations.
Also I don't like Onyx Boox, it's more of a B&W tablet then a e-ink with all the stupid 3rd party apps and screen. Also your data aint safe.

There is a level of subjectivity here, but the A6X2 solved my issues with writing feel. If your primary use case is writing then it is a better pick over the Boox

Supernote should make a thinner one and more minimalist appearance similar to remarkable...thinner bezel and note and also an option for colored highlighters, and colored pen points options for underlining...

9:54 I am sorry to say that, but this (small) folio looks pretty badly made and designed for its price. It seems like the user interface is very snappy compared to many other e-ink tablets - I would be interested to know what your impressions are, for example in comparison to the Note Air 3C. It seems it does not support CalDav (e.g. Nextcloud) calendars, that's a bad thing. I do not like devices which do not support open standards. I want to integrate (sync) this kind of hardware in my own server/cloud environment. I am not sure if I like the small size, I normally prefer ≥10"
