- In this video you will see how to repair Siemens EQ7 or EQ8 defect when control knob (rotary encoder) jumps around in both directions and not in to one direction that you are rotating the knob.
Additionally you will see how to get to the Grinding motor and it's carbon brushes. If you have your machine already some time and use it a lot, it's a must to inspect the state of carbon brushes..
If you would like to share some support for the channel or pour a beer as a thank you for successful repair: paypal.me/LetsFixItGarage
Thank you for the video 😊
Your welcome! it's an easy fix but a lot of disassembly to get to the part..

Nice video - thank you. Do you by any chance have a part number for the carbon brushes?
Don't have it on hand but grinding unit is the same as with eq7. Remember googling different shops and one had it..
Thank you for the video
Would it be better to replace the encoder ?
If you found identical encoder sure replacement is always better as refurbishment of a used one.. if you have you could share it here. Maybe it will help someone to find the replacement..
Do you know if it is possible to change EQ8 series 300 non colour LCD to coloured one in series 900 or smth?
Deja nežinau, neteko spalvoto LCD rankose vartyti..
Hi there, I am having problems with hot milk. The milk is cold always. How can I sort out out this one?
Does the steam come out? Maybe the head is closed. Try pulling off the milk preparation head and see if something is cloged inside.
@@letsfixitgarage the steam comes out but it doesn’t warm the milk. I tried the water through milk froth and it heats that up, but unfortunately not the milk. Any suggestion what that could be?
Also do you know how can I do a hard (fully) factory reset?
Thanks
Well if water heats up, milk has to heat up as well... There is no magic in this world... Have you taken apart the milk preparation head (twist to open it) and cleaned it thoroughly? Milk is thicker as water but still steam should heat it up...
As for hard reset I think I showed in the beginning off the video button combination for it, no?
I can’t get the bean holder of someone advise?
Sorry not much help but just squeeze from sides and rip it up.. it's really difficult especially first time
how can you so stupidly record something and not record the most important part...how to remove the container where the coffee is standing...you don't record that most important part so that people can more easily remove the plastic from the side.
Because sadly there is no easy way to remove it.. just force it up pressing on the sides.. no way around it..
