Sir I have been diagnosed with AVN in my right hip (stage 2C). Constant and unbearable pain in my hip and knee. Unable to put much weight on the hip. My current orthopaedic insists on not getting a hip implant and wants me to retain my original joint and has put me on painkillers which are of no use and multivitamins especially for Vit D3 etc. I am unable to sit, lie-down or do any basic movement/activity. I can share the MRI & X-ray reports. I want to know what should be done to get rid of the pain and this problem. Thanks in advance for your time sir.
Hi. I was diagnosed with AVN too stage 3 and stage 2. I met multiple renowned doctors. Some doctors who are traditional told me hip replacement needs to be done in later stages of life (I am 34) and that I should suffer / manage my pain for as long as possible. I did not agree to this. If it takes my hip 2-5 years to completely collapse then anyway I have to get hip replacement surgery. Why to waste my young life in pain? And today's prosthetics are of excellent quality which I believe will last 30 years or more. So I went ahead and got hip replacement done for stage 3 side. Doctor's said stage 2 might get better with medications. Its been only 1 week after surgery and I am very hopeful that I will be able to lead a normal life after 3-6 months.

My 42 yrs old sister whose femur shaft was fractured in the year Jan 2020 while bathing but still she is not getting cured after 7th repetitive surgey in 3 yrs.Her bone is getting infected repetitively we all are in a big problem sir. Also we are at the same hospital( bhubaneswar, odisha) now sir for another surgery (again debridement and cleaning) presently she has having implants in bones.
