The mythical notion of "where you originally come from?" Our ancestors came from Congo and Egypt.

Very contraversial, he's saying don't build stay in a hotel and at the same time saying don't invest in a hotel in the village. So which hotel will one stay in? Where does one who is 70 plus reside, in an apartment in westlands? What happened to devolution? How was great countries like England and America built? Are we encouraging urbanisation and congestion? Who am I and where will I be buried? What is wealth and how do I spend it,? Where do I sleep and where do my grandchildren sleep when they visit their grandfather? What are my cultural traits, who are my people, where do I go for festive seasons, Christmas, wedding engagements and burials? Where do I go for my internal peace in hotel Australia or ancestral land? Too many questions. Stop looking at it as a business venture and you'll understand it's value.

Tbh most senior citizens don't even want to retire to the village ...they are staying in urban areas ...their grand children live in urban areas ...my folks are now close to 70 and have invested in real estate in Nairobi ...their grand children live in Nairobi ...yet our ancestral land is in the western side of Kenya ...same to my neighbor their dad is now retired and doesn't want to go to the village ... also consider this ...most people will be living in urban areas in the next 50 yrs or so

Let's just be real ... we need to rethink our cultural norms ...I come from the culture that is known to build mansions in their ancestral land but we should interrogate that decision ...

@@eleven5167 People only fear the village because its under developed. It is our responsibility to develop our homes. They feared lack of sanitation, water, internet, electricity, TV, newspaper, restaurant, medical care, etc. there are now solutions to all these. In developed worlds, countryside is the most after location.

@@THISIS4REALTHO I understand that... but can't we think of investing in dukas and shopping centers and the rest rather than luxurious mansions ...
