    I would have used my Flowzone Typhoon backpack for that bad boy and stood back about 10 feet. I find that Taurus works really well in the soil near the entrance as well, as it doesn't piss em off as much and it has a great transfer effect since it's non repellent. This works too and it's probably faster 🤷

    • @DanTheBugMan
      @DanTheBugMan  Před rokem +3

      Some distance would have been nice! The Stryker sprays like 20+ feet! Taurus is great too

    People that get stung multiple times even if it’s one sting every few jobs run the risk of developing anaphylactic shock. You are really taking a risk removing these nests without a bee suit.

    i grew up in the south and yellow jackets are worse than snakes. at least snakes are just reacting to you almost stepping on them. yellow jackets give 0 shits whrn they come. and then living in the ground means its really easy not to see thrm and step on then barefoot (speaking from experience here)
    i used to cut the grass for a neighbor and he would tell me to let him know if i saw one. if i did he'd find the nest, drag a hose close by, grab the can if gasoline and a lighter and... well burn them out. (to be fair this was 1980/1990 time period and he knew where pipes and all tgat were. he wasn't in danger of setting something on fire that would destroy us all. he also made me get far away so i didn't get stung)

    • @DanTheBugMan
      @DanTheBugMan  Před rokem +3

      Yes I totally agree! They are so hard to see their nests and so easy to miss. That's what happened to me when I got stung. Hahaha I would have loved to have seen that fire and gasoline treatment

    • @DanielleBaum
      @DanielleBaum Před rokem +2

      @@DanTheBugMan it was the best to watch. he giggled madly every time. sometimes he'd bring a chair and a beer and watch to make sure nothing caught on fire and that it killed them all.
      to this day I still give anything that looks like them a wide berth because. yeah... painful creeps

    You don’t have a truck mounted sprayer? Would’ve been much more efficient then using that $10 can of Stryker
    Or even an electric backpack sprayer would be better then That B&G / Stryker combo

    D-Foam works great for subterranean nests. It expands so fast that it traps all the Yellow Jackets inside the nest and quickly kills them all.

    Chemical use is ok to knock them back at the ground, but get a duster with an extension and dust the hell out of it. Colony gone, less dangerous. If you spray I advise anyone to use at least a power backpack sprayer . Get some pressure and distance.
