  • In this video, I cover the process of printing a 3d object file from Thingiverse (or another source) on your 3d printer. I also show you how to handle prints that have multiple files.

    Some good tips, but i have a huge tip for you and your viewers. Instead of selecting the object and using the rotate tool to turn the object on the plate to a different side on the build plate, do this..... Select object, click on the Rotate tool on the left side, then click on the icon on the far right of the 3 icons on the rotate tool, its called 'Select Face to align with build plate', then click on what ever face you want on the build plate, and Cura will auto rotate it for you and align it exactly on the build plate.
    2nd Tip...To sort out all the different objects on your build plate easy and i a couple of mouse click do this....Right mouse click on your object, choose Select all models, then select arrange all models. Simples and doing these 2 tips alone will save you a whole heap of time if you have multiple models/objects on your build plat and want to adjust them.
    Above tips are in Cura ver 4.6.1

      Hi. You would move the object by clicking on it and selecting the move button on the left. From there you can drag it around. If you want to rotate the object, you would click on it and click on the rotate button on the left. From there you would click on the axis you want to rotate and drag your mouse in the direction you want to go. The user interface can be tricky sometimes but its not too bad once you get used to it.

    • @3DPrintscape
      @3DPrintscape  Před 3 lety

    • @3DPrintscape
      @3DPrintscape  Před 3 lety

      Hi. If you click download all files from thingiverse, it will create a zip and put them in it (even if its just one file). You should be able to right click on the zip and select extract all. That should create a new folder with all the extracted files in it.

    • @3DPrintscape
      @3DPrintscape  Před 3 lety

      Hi. Its possible that the computer is auto mapping it to that type of file, it doesn't necessarily mean its not right. The g-code file is basically a word document with a lot of commands. You would want to copy the file to the SD card, then put the sd card in the printer to see if it sees the new file.
