I feel like the 5 note chord at the end of Raining Blood is misunderstood. It's a star power phrase because lightning strikes the last note of an SP phrase when you hit it - it matches the thunderclap in the song. They also probably made it a 5 note chord so that 5 bolts of lightning hit it at the same time for dramatic effect.
Gimmicky? Yes. Chokeable? Definitely. But I think it's a cool easter egg that doesn't affect the difficulty too drastically. Bash the other GHSH charts all you want, but that chord was intentionally silly. Enjoy it!

@@NunoVH Yeah obviously which is why people complain about the chart. You can't have the lightning or sound effect without the sp phrase
You said it's misunderstood and explained it's for the thunder clap in the track. I think that's obvious so that's why I asked are people really missing that fact and complaining that there's a sp phrase at the end of the song. I don't see the issue in that sp phrase at all nor the 5 chord strum as it's the easiest type of chord to hit just lay your fingers down without thinking also a bad sp at the end would be one without a sustain that you actually can't wammy out and are unable to activate

I remember going to my cousins house and playing guitar hero 3 with the white explorer controller for 360 and I remember playing one for the first time and I can honestly say it’s the reason I picked up guitar and probably the reason my sons name is Axle James Orion followed by his last name…. Needless to say guitar hero and Metallica are why I play guitar in a nutshell

Can I just say I really appreciate how they started adding tapping animations for the guitarist during the tapping parts. They didn't have to do that but they did.
For GH:M at least I know they mocapped Metallica the band themselves pantomiming their instruments, so it would be Kirk himself tapping that is the animation.
The game is called Smash Hits because it makes the player want to smash the game disk.

I always really liked how GH:M and other stem based Guitar Hero games would let you adjust the mixing of the drums and vocals and bass, they didn’t have to let you do that, but they did
It was even better in GH3 where you could just shut the whole band up and just have the guitar. I guess they changed it so people wouldn't steal the stems? (lol)
@@GT2OOO you can do that in GHM too every instrument has a slider so you can turn everything down if you want. It’s how a lot of backing tracks on CZcams were created people ripped the audio tracks from this game and since it’s all separated to control the audio in the game you can take those separate tracks out
@@TheJerseyNinja Not really. In every game after GH3 you can't turn the volume ALL THE WAY DOWN. You'll still hear the other instruments and effects still. But yeah, I know that people still managed to rip the separate tracks with other tools and software (thankfully)
They did it in GHM so you could accurately play the songs from justice, negative bass.
As a GHM FGFC possessor myself, I can confidently say that this is rad.

I’m pretty sure GH: Metallica is the only game in the series where all the on-disc songs have accurate mo-capped animations for the drummers (I specify “on-disc” because the “Death Magnetic” DLC tracks recycled Lars’s animations), which is funny when you realize that Smash Hits has no accurate animations for their drummers; in fact, they’re the generic animations from World Tour. 💀
Considering they came out yearly I wouldn't be surprised if they were being made at the same time

tbh now that CH tap notes are identical to HOPOs, there should be actual slider notes. like a long note that veers off into another lane but is super easy to follow, just to give the sliding feel

I loved live so much. May be one of the few but there was something so awesome about GHTV. You just let it choose whatever songs it wanted while you sat in a lobby with a bunch of other people. I would always make rivalries in my head with the other people near the top, and always felt the need to assert my dominance. I miss GHTV so much. I understand six button was a weird choice, and I definitely don't prefer it, but I do think it gets way too much hate and it was a ton of fun. It just took getting used to.
I got to add that War Ensemble on bass has some of the fastest strumming out of any guitar hero chart

Imo he will be the best player in my eyes no matter what, I think he's had so much unbelievable FC's and he's what inspired me to ever have interest and play clone and guitar hero.
i have only been playing guitar hero for the past 2-3 weeks, and i have already been able to pass ttfaf! (on easy ofc)
when i first beat it i screamed in joy, it was a few days ago when i beat it.
i can already do it on a regular xbox360 controller.
i also got 5 stars on ttfaf somehow, (not an fc tho)
sometimes i do ttfaf for a warm up for the devil went down to georgia, as i play guitar hero 3.
ttfaf is fun, whether you fail or not.

GH Metallica should've been more like the Beatles Rock Band, with exclusively Metallica songs and a campaign where you play their discography chronologically while somewhat learning about the band's history and unlocking bonus content like photos and the like
That's not a bad idea. But you gotta remember it came out 13 years ago. It was still just basically playing the songs back then. No theatrics. Plus, I believe the other songs on the game they are either huge fans of or have some sort of connection to the song. Right?

Man metallica came out at the PERFECT time for me as a teen deep into metal and GH. Especially after world tour which I felt didn’t have enough challenging metal songs. (Not that there weren’t any of course)

GHM was my favorite GH game and I played it so much. I remember my grind trying to get de FGFC on bass, missing a note on dyers eve and try over and over again. The grind to get a better place on the leaderboards for each song, the full career mode, all those nights when I played with my family and saw my mom trying to play drums. The best game of the series imo for all the good times and memories I have.
The call back to the oldschool outro was gold.

The introduction to double bass persuaded me to get a kit, I actually learned about 10 songs note for note thanks to this game on a real kit, truly grateful this game exists.

The solo isn’t really that tough, the tough part is the engine that will eat your fast strums when you switch frets.
To avoid this you basically have to play everything early

I used to play GHM, GHWT, GH5, GHWR on my ps3 a few years ago, I grinded 5 stars on all the songs of those games, got some fcs, I just couldn't bother trying to fc them all, 1st, I'm not that good, and 2nd, the mechanics and all of that stuff that I don't understand, but hey it was fun

There's some real cool modding tools for Wii GH3 ISOs, super easy to make a new one and run on console. Used to play those all day with friends! Loved both these games on playstation :)

Indeed I remember how many songs just go on and on. One of these days I just might get serious and pass Seek and Destroy on Performance Mode, because it's so goddam easy to memorize everything but the solo. Also I can confirm Smash Hits PS2 is not really any easier, because you have to deal with wretched frame drops.
