How much went out the back?

We run an 8 row head on a class 8 combine. Because with high yielding corn i cant physically get anymore grain into the tank going over 3.8mph. It all blows out the back because the machine can only separate so many bushels per hour. I like the corn head but the idea of going fast seems redundant to me. In 240+ bpa corn in central Illinois it doesn't matter how fast or big the headed is, its how fast you can haul away and seperate the grain inside the combine

Anyone knows speed is not the answer ears fly at high speed. Go with bigger head and go slower easier on all equipment involved including opetaters of combine and cart.

What class 8 are you running? We can get 5.5mph out of our S770 on an 8row in 250+ no problem. Very minimal loss out the combine, there’s a bit of butt shell at the header when the moisture gets lower, but not too terrible. Plus we’ve been looking at an ear saver kit to reduce that.
