playing it rn man it makes the game worth it. The main story was pretty mediocre especially the side quests most were pretty boring but claptastic voyage has been amazing man
You tripping? Eclipse is not a good boss fight,it's unfair and broken and a cluster fuck and it's definitely one of hardest boss in the whole franchise
I very recently beat this boss in coop. It's an absolute nightmare in tvhm if you're not playing with a super meta build. Eclipse has a bug where if you're playing in multiplayer. He has almost no cooldown whatsoever on his rockets. Meaning not only do you have to frequently break line of sight, but you also have to reposition whenever he rocket jumps to your location WHILST looking at him because you can't leave the rocket spam unaccounted for or you're gone, meaning your completely blind from the platforming and you die from falling into the lava. And don't get me started on the drone adds perma shredding your shield that if you decide to turn around for a sec to take em down. You instantly get one shot by a homing undodgable rocket. Idk what drug you took that made you enjoy this fight. It's long and not fair. A good and challenging fights makes you go : "ugh... I probably should've dodged that" or "oh I didn't know X mechanic". Not once did I tell myself during this fight "oh yeah that was my mistake, I didn't perfectly shoot every homing undodgable rockets."
Just a random tidbit because this is literally one of my favorite gaming DLCs of ALL TIME but this DLC highlights a seriously depressing truth that Shadow-TP is actually trying his best to be the hero in this story. Claptrap gets belittled and taken advantage of by the Vault-Hunters turnt villains in the Pre-Sequel and Claptraps affection for those evil people leads evil to win. Shadowtrap is ironically portrayed as this dark, evil, and unhinged character when the seemingly well put together Handsome Jack is a maniacal and twisted killer. Shadowtrap is the only character that would risk his life for Claptrap and the final sacrifice of giving up his life to save Claptrap legit touched my heart even though it's a bit goofy and just a random DLC. thnx for the awesome vid :)
U know the saddest part? Claptrap always ends up getting others killed because he can’t follow simple orders…… But at the end he actually DOES follow orders for once and ends up saving EVERYONE he’s fought alongside with in the process and the ONE TIME HE DOES SOMETHING RIGHT he gets betrayed and backstabbed and ends up getting his entire product line killed off and even helped caused the war on pandora he did something right and STILL fucks it up…..

I don't even know what to write. So just thank you for reminding the people here, that Pre-sequel does exist and is indeed fun(my personal favourite). Edit: I also remember that the arena, which you unlock at the end of the DLC is for me personally one of the coolest arenas in series. While I have with the map itself some problems, I love how you can modify the arena and get reward for it. It just adds the little replayability that the game needed.
I honestly loved playthroughs of this game in high school classes. The nostalgia was REAL during this video! I'm definitely looking forward to my first playthrough of this dlc (thanks steam sale) which ill eventually post. Excellent review, subscribed

These opinions are wrong TPS was about u being a hero but then questioning yourself how far your willing to go until u become villains and the characters each evolve or devolve or the course of the game Claptrap and Athena become better people because of it Wilhelm and I sha become more deranged and broken because of it And Timothy and Aurelia are kinda just the normal bystanders who thought it was fucked up when Jack went too far with killing innocents and claptrap
I’m glad I’m playing through this game again. Great movement, fun loot, and it’s only bad part really now is it’s early rep stopped more development on it.
To this day, I still can't believe the best villain we've had outside of Jack himself is... a competent version of Claptrap. He's smart, charismatic, and extremely capable in combat. And he is very much aware of Jack and his motivations before anyone else did. He flatout tells Claptrap before he goes to fight, "Then you die. Regardless of what happens next." He knew that even with the H-Source, there was a good chance he was still going to lose. And he knew Jack was going to get rid of Claptrap anyway once he got what he wanted. Shadowtrap taking over was basically the only option left to him if he wanted any Claptrap to get out alive. And in the end, he gave up what little power he had left to make sure Claptrap could live. When Shadowtrap said that he was the only friend Claptrap had, he meant that. He's a big part of what the Claptastic Voyage is arguably the best DLC in the series.
God i wanted more dlc for the pre sequel i was addicted to pre sequel but unfortunately i didn't get experience the fall of new Haven or some secret adventures where jack sends his vault hunters to find other vaults and plot twist reveal everything that happens in borderlands 2 was predicted by him and how tricked everyone ahhh good times
If only 2k Australia could have make the others dlc, WE already know one of them and im damn sure nina would have her own dlc with vladof wanting her dead because of something she did or is
I just replayed the pre sequel again for the first time in a long time and only played the Claptastic Voyage this playthrough and I had loads of fun with it! Challenging and engaging, glitch weapons and endearing story. Although, that damn final boss battle with the 3 form phases I was SO FRUSTRATED!!! But after awhile I finally beat it!
Borderlands the pre-sequel was on bar with Bl2 I might say the heroes are more enjoyable. end game, no specific drop loot and lack of DLCs is what makes BL2 way better. i enjoyed both of them (story wise) almost the same. love the pre-sequel.
best part about the dlc is fake deck 13 has a different loading screen, i didnt even catch that until after i beat the dlc and saw the real one then i fast traveled back to subconscious and ran through the boss fight arenas to see them both again and make sure i wasnt going crazy lmao
I love how they have different names too, deck 13 1/2 being the real one, with deck 13.5 being a fake, it's so surreal going back through and seeing these subtle clues that something isn't right
Shadowtrap was an amazing villain. His competence and smart thinking made people take him seriously. He was right when he said that he was what Claptrap was supposed to be. He's what every Claptrap unit should have been, minus the evil homicidal tendencies, if Lawrence De Quidt still lived long enough to perfect the Claptrap units' personality flaws.
This is why I never got why some of my friends would say pre-sequel isn't as fun 3 or 2. It has less content, sure but BY myself i poured *hours* after hours into prequel. resulting in 164 hours. whereas 3 while gameplay may be better what i got along side it was not comparable, omg cool legendries galore! But i can get a glitch weapon and the game's changed. Elpis, low grav, lasers, freeze. *And we were robbed of what could of made the holodome obsolete* but no. I love pre-sequel, love Playing Fr4g-Tr4p and most of all almost all of the story was a banger.
Agreed also the lack of contents kinda a lie look at what THIS game introduced Zero gravity double jumping butt slams laser guns a new element that WASNT dogshit lol Then u also got the classes that are COMPLETELY new with u even being able to make team builds and who each evolve or devolve over the course of the game with unique dialogue and how they interact with situations and characters HELL they even interact with one another This game DID have more stuff in it then 1 and 2 so much more it just wasn’t guns it was a brand new experience and me and my buddy and little brother STILL play it to this day We also think the other games are shit by comparison lol
13:36 Why didn't you show the loading screen of Jack's head looking at the player? That's another iconic moment, not as good as the error screen, but it's clever. There's also the subtle detail in the naming 13.5 instead of 13 1/2.
i think the biggest thing that killed the pre-sequel for me was the o2 system i get it wouldnt make sense to just walk around in space and not worry about oxygen but i dont want to worry about my oxygen every 5 minutes it kills the gameplay for me yea the game re-used a lot of assets and re-used a lot of legendary's and un-farmable bosses etc etc etc but the o2 system was the biggest deal breaker for me
I wouldn't say The Claptastic Voyage is "The best DLC ever released in a Borderlands game", as that honor most definitely belongs to Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep. But Claptastic Voyage is DEFINITELY a very close #2!
Nah heavily disagree I didint like the tiny Tina DLC but to be fair it’s the ONLY borderlands 2 DLC I actually finished but the commander Lilith DLC was ORIGINALLY TPS DLC they just reused and it’s trash……

I think my favorite thing about this dlc comes from playing as claptrap during the dlc. His dialougue alone makes the dlc worth it.

Nah I never even considered it a problem not even with the human characters it never ran out and I loved double jumping and butt slams
