fun fact, theres also a 1.2 version, which is in the Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort disc. only difference i know is that the title says 2006-2008, i believe that is all. great video!
In my experience in 1.0.2 the load times are much faster than in 1.0.1

I may be wrong on this, but in earlier 1.00 versions of the game, the Wrist Strap warning screen before the title screen is much different. The later 1.01 versions would use the Wrist Strap warning screen that is probably much more familiar to most Wii owners.
Correct
The original strap was similar to a zip tie but the new ones had a lock. I believe this was a result of complaints of the strap becoming undone in the original. They were incredibly loose.

I'm in Europe, and my copy of the game only says "2006 Nintendo" on the title screen and has no Wii Remote jackets. However, the new cutscenes, animations and sound effects are all in my copy of the game.
yea the differences are also in 1.0 of european and japanese versions

Another difference between the 2 versions of the game is when you start up a game in the training mode. On the early version there is a 1.3 second pause before the phrase start appears, whereas in the updated version there is no longer a pause.
You forgot one in baseball: in 1.00 when you get a single, double, or triple, the person who caught the ball doesn’t blink

Fun fact during the games demo there originally going to be a 6th called airplane. Basically it would have fly around an island through rings with a timer. Sadly didnt make it to the game when boxing and bowling were added in

Funny Poofesure's insanity inspired you to get Wii Sports for nostalgia's sake. Watching his vids got me back into that and Tomodachi Life recently lol. In fact, his Tomodachi Life vids are probably the more chill vids he's made lol.
Fun fact:Wii play was being developed at the same time with Wii sports so that is why they have similar names and no Wii jacket and strap

Also apparently at one point they were the same game but the team had so many ideas for mini games that they decided to split them up; the sports ones became Wii Sports and everything else became Wii Play
according to tcrf the baseball cutscene is also present in european and japanese versions of 1.0
Can confirm. We bought a Wii very early so our pack-in Wii Sports was likely an early EU version, and it did have the cut scene.
The 1.00 version of the game is getting valuable. Not just because of the fact that it’s an older version, but also because it’s a highly desirable copy for speed runners, due to the lack of cutscenes.

Me pasó lo mismo que a tí amigo, yo tuve la versión 1.0 durante muchos años, cuando vi un vídeo me habia percatado que en Baseball había una cinematica al principio y ahí empecé a buscar la razón y ahora la sé.

There’s also another difference in boxing where when you knockdown someone in 1.00 the camera angle is different the camera goes out while in 1.01 it goes forward at an angle more up

this goes along with the wii remote jacket updates, but to coincide with them in 1.01, one of the pre-game health message popups (i.e. "take a break," "clear space" etc.) mentions the wii remote jacket

looks like there are also differences between the european und us version, i had the first european version, which actually had all the updates from the updated version you presented, except for the wii remote jacket in the title screen, so my version also has the added animations and the sounds of the arrows when selecting your mii
It's actually just the US version that lacks these features, both the European *AND* Japanese releases have them.
Ohhhhhh-I had a Wii at my grandma’s house and we had two copies of Wii sports so we gave her one. I had always thought these were differences for 16:9 vs 4:3 gameplay

These changes were probably related to the American version cause I live in Europe and I distinctly remember that my game didn't have the wii condom illustration but still got every cutscene
I have the 2006 copyright version but I played it today and the sounds of the narrator coach person goes into my wii controller speakers (I have the pink motion plus built inside wii remote by the way)
It’s called Indian ball - if the fielder cleanly fields it; it’s an out. They don’t need to throw the ball. They only added the throwing to make it feel more complete

The PAL version 1.00 has most of the updated features of 1.01, but with the old wrist strap screen

All the cutscenes were present in the 1.00 version in the UK, same as in Japan. NTSC regions (USA, Canada, etc.) were the only ones to not have the cutscenes on that version.
They were actually lacking a few features that were present on the PAL and Japanese releases.

I'm not sure that they fixed the tennis exploit. The Wii Sports i have has the baseball cutscene and pretty much every other thing you mentioned, but it's still possible to use the tennis exploit. I'm not sure what's going on there.
4:00 another difference is when the ball went up on the air in 1.01 it made a sound that doesn’t seem to be in 1.00

1.00, you just live in a region that's outside of the US and a few other countries. They lacked a few features in their 1.00 that everyone else had.

after watching this video i immediately went to check weather or not my wii sport was the 1.00 version or the 1.01 version because for some reason it never occurred to me there were two different versions of the game but when i looked at my game, i saw it was the 2006 one (the 1.00 version) but my game HAS the newest things on the 1.01 version of the game like the cut scenes (like the baseball one and the boxing one) and also stuff like the audio when scrolling left to right on the mii selection part & the audio coming out the wii remote but stuff like the wiggling in baseball i don't have mine just stands still. does this mean i have a mix of both 1.00 + 1.01 but in the 1.00 version ?? i just think its really funny like does this make my wii sports ✨special✨

@@scampernoodle6757 What happens in a lot of older games with version differences is that a game will come out in a region, get updated for another region and then eventualy find it's way back to the original region. The Wii came out a month prior in the US compared to the rest of the world (even including Japan) so I assume when they realized they shipped with the older version they switched it out for international and future US sales.
personally I can't stand the 1.0.1 version. I don't like how the Mii moves around in Baseball. 1.0.0 is my favorite version as I had a launch Wii

If I still had this game I wouldn't care witch version I had I loved playing wii sports as a kid and if the game functions well and plays well I don't need to get another copy of wii sports. Ps. I don't own wii sports anymore butt I kinda still have a wii threw my wii u aka I'm glad I got a wii u because around the time I got the wii u my original wii broke by not playing wii disc's no more and also I still have wii games for my wii/wii u here one of my favorite wii games besides wii sports lego batman 1 for wii the first lego batman game was one of my first wii games among side wii sports
