I also didn't have a domestic help for many years because I found it stressful to leave the house, dishes dirty in wait for someone and then bear their presence. I would rather have it clean at all times and all family members clean up after themselves.

I would love to know your views on a certain topic. I don't know if you have noticed this trend but in the pakistan drama industry there are so many dramas where the female leads are absolutely clueless, asinine and oblivious to their surroundings. One example would be Umeed from fairytale. I know there are a lot of strong female leads e.g Aliya from kuch ankahi, if we are talking about older dramas we have kashaf from zindagi gulzar hai. It is refreshing to see characters like this rather than clueless female characters. Furthermore, portraying women as exceptionally innocent and naive is also super annoying. This infantilization of women is widespread in our society but I really wish pakistani dramas would stop enforcing this notion (don't get me wrong this notion is not restricted to Pakistan , Hollywood has its fair share of such characters as well.)
So true, in a quest to break away from toxic men, and show loving caring ones, the girls or wives are being shown as stupid, insensitive or ungrateful. Chand Tara is an exception where both husband wife are positive, and Sarim tops the list of positive, caring, supportive husbands. Writers say if both male and female are positive, then how will they create conflict and how will the story progress, so one needs to be grey. They should refer to Haseena Moin dramas where all characters were positive and strong.
Another problem is how the society has become intolerable towards women. Haseena Moin when asked why she quit writing said that the kind of women she liked to portray are no longer acceptable to the society. I was watching Sehzori, where the girl confronts her FIL who doesn’t approve of their marriage and slaps her husband, a positive hero, for not speaking up. I was taken a back because we are not used to seeing women in that equality equation any more. If such a scene is shown today , the writer would be bashed for being a feminist promoting the vile aurat march agenda. Such notions were not present during that era where strong independent minded, vocal females were shown on screen. Today, such women are not liked.
The issue of attacking strong independent women is global under many ultra right conservative fundamentalist governments like under Trump with the backing of Christian fundamentalist, or Israel under Netanyahu, in the UK/ australia under the Tory-government! One even hear female politicians of those parties being so anti many hard fought for women’s rights! Male privilege is being threatened, when we women ask for basic human rights! They are not use to sharing a slice of the pie with us !
When talking about this topic the genre should also be taken into consideration. fairytale stays true to its name. Umeed's cluelessness and stupidity is used to generate comedy and it don't serve any other purpose. Umeed is a one dimensional manic pixie dream girl who is hyperactive all the time. There is nothing more or nothing less to her characterization. Farjaad's robotic behaviour is also there to generate comedy. None of the characters in fairytale makes any sense and the entire drama don't take itself seriously. But if umeed was a character in a drama with a serious tone or with a more realistic approach then yes that's a topic of concern.
Hey Amna don’t you think people live at abroad - we don’t get guest in our house - Most of the people lives in abroad - We do have parties here - and we cook food for all the guest - and seriously there are no helping hand - we cook iftari and provide those iftari at mosque for 200 or 300 people at a time - don’t think people order food from outside. 🙂🙂- Here we love to cook for ourself - and even people love to feed to other people. Our schedule of work is also has certain time and husband and wife both works. We are all working families here too. We have to cook and clean - no helping hand 😅😊
Aamna ji! I would like to add in here that living abroad, we can and do manage lots of mehmaandari, cooking at home in big pots ourselves, cleaning up after guests leave, having the babies, working couple full time and managing kid's curricular activities after school as well. So this is all sustainable and manageable if one knows how to manage their time. We do have extended families and family friends big circle as well and do socialise hugely. :)
Exactlyyyy!! And it’s not easy, it’s so hard but we do it because there is no other way around either. It’s INSANELY expensive to get house help and not everyone has relatives to look after their kids so you pay nurseries and make time to look after your home kids work and all the whole maintain social and physical activities.

There is nothing more or nothing less to her characterization. Farjaad's robotic behaviour is also there to generate comedy. None of the characters in fairytale makes any sense and the entire drama don't take itself seriously. But if umeed was a character in a drama with a serious tone or with a more realistic approach then yes that's a topic of concern.

We do have parties here - and we cook food for all the guest - and seriously there are no helping hand - we cook iftari and provide those iftari at mosque for 200 or 300 people at a time - don’t think people order food from outside.

I would like to add in here that living abroad, we can and do manage lots of mehmaandari, cooking at home in big pots ourselves, cleaning up after guests leave, having the babies, working couple full time and managing kid's curricular activities after school as well. So this is all sustainable and manageable if one knows how to manage their time. We do have extended families and family friends big circle as well and do socialise hugely. :)

It’s INSANELY expensive to get house help and not everyone has relatives to look after their kids so you pay nurseries and make time to look after your home kids work and all the whole maintain social and physical activities.

Ushna Shah's statement: Islam gives message of forgiveness but would she or anybody endorse this message if it's a matter of murder or child abuse or rape. It's just that we don't consider domestic abuse a crime that's why people come up with exucuses like these. And bullying is not "condemning an act", if it is bullying then all our politicians are being bullied to its highest level. In Feroze's case, if people have stayed silent then it would have impacted the seriousness of this "crime".
And btw Aamir Liaqat's case is entirely different from this, his personal video got released and he was mocked on that but Feroze's case is a crime by definition and all he faced is condemnation by the public and by celebrities.
What you said would have made point only if he was actually convicted of DV, forget conviction, Alizey has not even filed a case for DV, all her accusations were only on social media. It's complicated to the extent that for some he'll be innocent, and some are gonna hold him accountable forever, irrespective of if the accusations are true or not. So if you look at it, Ushna had no right to firstly hold him accountable without knowing facts and secondly no one to forgive him. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been accused of DV and the case is ongoing, but almost everyone in Bollywood refrained from commenting on it, which is better, because no one knows the truth.

And if we be more real, than we establish another fact that Jhonny Depp was able to get justice because he was a big star with massive fanbase who stood for him throughout, otherwise there are several cases where the men are brutally slandered and humiliated because of this social media trial and impossibility to get justice.
