  • Watch how easy it is to set up this Aliner Scout Lite. All metal, no canvas. I bought it for safety reasons. 5-10 minute setup. This little camper sleeps 2, has an air conditioner, running water, fan in the ceiling and cabinet space. I took out a cabinet and put in a small refrigerator by myself, was easy. Plenty of plug ins inside. The metal step is hard on my knees so I bought a rubber one off of amazon. This is lightweight and easily pulled by my Jeep Rubicon. I can even pull it myself to adjust setup. My Standard Poodle, Karma, loves it.

    Set those wheel chocks before it blows away.

    If you'd like to add heat for your Scout, I recommend using a diesel parking heater. Available online for around $150, it would sit on the ground underneath your AC and you can then feed the warm air inside through the small window. The unit is about 18x12x12 and holds enough diesel fuel for about 12-14 hours of heat. You will also need a 12 volt source to get it started and run the fan. I think this is a better solution than the standard propane furnace, which takes up a good amount of Aliner cabinet space, is noisy, and cycles on/off often due to the small space. A little buddy heater is okay for a chilly morning, but a parking heater (originally made for heating 18 wheelers) can keep you comfortable all night. Since it sits outside, it's quiet.

      With the parking heater, pay close attention to where the Fresh Air Intake Collection is located relative to the exhaust. Watch out for pumping exhaust fumes into your cabin. Correctly installed they are a great heater, cheap to buy and run, and relatively easy to install. Cheers from Michael. Australia.

      We just use a small ceramic electric heater. It was 36 degrees one morning in Cody, WY. Small camper it doesn’t need much.

      @@adventureswithcrystal Thank YOU for the great video. Single woman here and had resigned myself to not being able to handle a popup on my own until I saw how you conquered it and made it look easy! Thank you for giving me the encouragement!

    Don't laugh, short trailers are more difficult to back than longer trailers. 73yo dude

    Thanks for the video! How does this fair when you have loud neighbors? One of the reasons we want a camper is because we always find ourselves near people playing music late/being loud at their campfire. I’m curious how well this isolates you from that noise/rainfall noise.

    • @adventureswithcrystal
      @adventureswithcrystal  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Not too bad… if they were right next to me I definitely would hear them. I got a cabin once and the neighbors set up a band right next to my bedroom window… that was crazy.

      Bubble windows kinda noisy in rain….normal neighbor noise as with about any travel trailer. Some good fixes for the rain/window noise….be creative 👍

    You almost did a big mistake. Never hook a 15 amp extension cord to a 30 amp cord at a campsite. That 30 amp cord is designed for all the electrical usage in the trailer like AC and heater. Extension cord are only designed for small equipment like lights and tools.

    What Aliner is this? A scout or a scout light? Either way it looks great!

      You are correct… I didn’t show that in the video…there are 4 jacks on the trailer that come down.
