Apr 12, 2024, I bought a 2024 Aliner Scout Lite at Harvey RV in Bangor ME ! I towed it 290 miles home with a 2010 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab (2.7L, 4-cyl, rear wheel drive).
I'm thinking of building one. I think it would be alot cheaper. Set the floor plan anyway you want. I only want a dinette to bed. A counter for food prepping and for cooking on with a portable stove. I don't need a sink. I'll was my dishes in a collapsible bin and water jug. Have plenty of room to use a folding toilet seat if you need to go. Simple yet functional.
I think it would be nice to include a small fresh tank in this model, even if it used a manual pump at the sink. I rarely go where there is a pressurized water hook-up at the site. Otherwise, I think this is a great set-up for a basic camper that can be parked in a normal garage and still has space to stand up.
I just bought this camper. The water connection is for a regular garden hose. I'm going to get a 7-gal water container and attach a garden hose to it and hang it from a tree or from the top of the trailer to provide running water to the faucet.

How long are the twin size beds? Can a 6ft person sleep straight and comfortable? Also can the sink be removed,build a full size bed and put the sink in another area in the space?
Both beds are 76" long and widths are front 30", back 40". I would think so. Unfortunately they don't offer that sort of customization. Take a look at the Scout, just 2' longer in total length and might be the size beds you are looking for. Thanks for watching!
From most RAV4 models we have encountered, they have a 3500 lb tow capacity. This only weighs about 1200 lb the way it's sitting and maxed out, 3,000 lbs. So, still under your tow rating if you fully loaded it up. So, yes! Thanks for watching
Yes, a RAV4 can easily tow a Scout Lite. However, don't expect to maintain freeway speeds when going up a long grade. And, it would be best to transport heavy items in the back of the RAV4, instead of the Scout Lite.
Towing capacity of your vehicle is 1,500 from our understanding. This Scout Lite weighs about 1200 pounds dry. It's doable, however, just have to go in it with the understanding your acceleration, braking, and climbing inclines will change - no more getting around town in a hurry. hehe Thanks for watching!
The Scout Lite only has the Air Conditioner option, but if you upgrade to the Scout Standard, you gain access to an option for a heat pump! Hope that helps!

Seems to me that A/C is sticking out Too far!! I see an accident from a novice or distracted driver ripping out that whole side!! Couldn't you put it in about 1/2 way??
It does appear that way, however, it's only about 3-4" out further than the fender of the RV. Unfortunately, pushing it further would not allow the proper venting needed externally. As an option, Aliner does offer a bigger AC unit that is housed underneath the back bed/sofa area. Thanks for watching!

Nobody ever comments on the air conditioner vent. You CANNOT run any air-conditioned that is closed off like this. The first pull out drawer under the top is closed off by the door. You either need to remove the door or cut a vent into it. Other wise the A/C will freeze up the evaporator solid ice from no air flow into the cabin. Come on people especially A/Liner for even designing it like that without any type of vent.
If you are talking about the outside, the black cover for the AC is for storage only. As for the inside, there is a large vent cut into the storage cabinet right inside the doorway to give some return air flow. All the years I've helped customers purchase one of these Aliners, I can truly say I've never had anyone talk about the AC freezing up. Thanks for watching!
While A Liner looks like a good quality small RV for its price point, it just seems odd and out of place to have an air conditioner sticking out the side. Not sure I can get over that design. Does this basic unit also come with heat, like a propane forced air heater?
Great question, and thanks for watching! Scout is a couple feet longer than the Scout Lite. This gives you a dinette a few inches wider and a larger bed over the bunk. There are also a few more differences, depending on how each model is ordered out - ie. you can do a dormer on both front and rear in the Scout, only front in the Scout Lite. Aliner spec sheet says 130 hitch weight on their web site.

Does the roof snap together at the top?
It doesn't snap per se. When you put up the side walls, there are latches on the inside which keep everything locked in place. Hope that helps!

I had. 2 of thse trailers they are not made for cold weather screws start to rust so on and on not in Canada Casselman ont

Use a Buddy heater, that's what I do.
@@CindyinArizona buddy heaters don't work above 7000 ft and unreliable above 6500 ft, so if you camp in the mountains - buddy heaters don't work
Is there a battery, etc... to go along with that solar port? Or is that just for a solar generator?
12v is supplied by us when you purchase a RV. At that point, you can arrange the solar panel to supply the battery. Thanks for watching!

These campers require too much caulking maintenance, they leak and then the roof separates
