Keep the fencing the same theme James - red and black. If you’re not sure, take a picture and ‘paint’ it using Photoshop, Procreate etc on your computer/tablet. Works every time for me.

I think if I was changing media in a shower like that I would start at the bottom. That way the beneficial bacteria would wash from the top trays and be caught by the bottom tray. I think it would boost the speed of colonisation that way.
I've dune the same thing. I would just keep the air on. Even with air on it still backs up with Junk in the mountain tree filter. I always enjoy watching thanks again!

That new koi flashing would worry me if it jumps out! Don’t wana scare ya but it happened to me recently with a new fish. I got jump guards up now just incase. All da best
Hi James great video again mate and can't wait for the new pond build. Regarding the new fish, whenever I add a new fish I always put tonic salt in to .5 it helps with new fish settling in and also obviously helping with any possible parasites. Also no meed for any chemicals going in the pond. I've done this for a few years now and not had any problems. (So far )haha. Good luck mate she's a lovely looking fish.
Mark Perry yes I did think about doing that I have done in the past but I haven’t put salt in the pond 4 a wile now , new pond will be good but I still need the 10k and still need to save a few ponds lol 😂 that or trip to see the bank Manager but wife would go nuts lol 😂 10k subs then the start of next year will start the pond as it’s a bit late in the year now but you no me I sometimes just get a idea in my head and get the job done lol 😂 happy days mate

Carol Lycett yea he has done ok tbh but I like to teach them in life you work for what you get so when he gets things like a new tank or anything he wants to get himself he looks after things better and he is a brilliant kid so proud of him tbh

The scales won’t read the weight mate because the weight of the media weighed more that the scales will read lol. I found out the other day with mine 👍. I like the sound of the new media as well. Looking into some new media for my shower will look more into that media 👍

Hi James, let’s talk about the new koi, the place where you bought it from, did they add salt to the water? and if so how much. You can wean koi off salt slowly. The salt level in a koi’s body is about 0.5% I believe and another thing koi don’t like the pH levels to fluctuate. Now let’s talk about the new fence, a question you need to ask yourself is do you want it to blend in or stand out. Regards Mark

The problem with the scales is your maxing them out mate the media weighs more than the scales can measure. Great video mate

Put a coat of yacht varnish on it pits a nice shine on him 👍🏻
Either black n red on the fence mate or my preference would be leave it and just stain it to protect it. Luvs wood just how it is 👍
And the smell of new wood is the best

Iv just added a new koi to my pond and it’s doing the same thing, it’s only jumped once wot I’ve seen but I’m also just keeping an eye on it, I’m thinking the same as u a it’s a new environment for the fish, I’d keep the fence as it is mate looks spot on

Loving that media James. Is it pricey? I’m running alfagrog was a cheap option at the time. Your new koi may be stressed and still settling into the new environment Hence the veiny look. Hopefully settles in ok and no problems or parasites 😀👍🏻 cheers

So, how much does it weigh when its dry? 😁😂 Personally, i prefer the look of wood so would clear stain the fence but guess depends on your plan for new pond - once painted that's that, no going back!

Your pond is tiny with massive fish and your trying your best to keep water the good to accommodate
IMHO. Keep the fence natural. Protect with a clear coat. Really sets off the garden and looks warm. Name for new fish. Hoshi or Ember.
Do like the look of that new media mate and like you say what it holds water wise over the grog fantastic not that grog is bad its dam good for its price. you know my thinking on the fence paint it black good tip on dripping the the stuff in this soft water down hear makes for a constant add this and that

Hi mate, I’d 100% opt for a stain for the fence, it’s stunning mate, would be such a huge shame to cover up the patterns and textures of the featheredge. I think painting it black and red would over do it. The garden is looking good anyway mate.
