@Mike Perry pretty much all of the branches in Michigan are guard/reserves and some active but havent herd of any yet other than the Coast Guard and most of the time they come from Detroit ANGB to these shows or go up north to Alpena for training!
Beautiful helicopter all the way around. I think the only two others I like that come close to the blackhawks are the chinooks, and the uh-1 hueys. Love the sound of all three of them, and get to hear it every day! I live right by davis monthan afb so I see f16s, a10s, and blackhawks etc. Every day. Always been an aviation nut lol
There's no wings on Blackhawks, If you were referring to the flap in the back which is called the Stabelizer, its not really bent because that's how it ascend and descend. Or if you were talking about the main rotor blades again by design.
I’ve seen a few ospreys pass over my area before hell I’ve even seen a b-52 stratofortress pass over this is nothin but but looks like the children liked it nice shot too
I'm an Army UH 60 M pilot. This is a Mike model. The tell tale signs are 1. The hand holds on the Stabilator. Those are exclusive to the Mike model because the stabilator of the Mike model is in 3 separate pieces and folds for easier transportation. The second is the 20 degree downward cant of the main rotor blades, what is called an "anhedral droop". Air intakes are do not vary from the Lima to the Mike.
Please, can we use footage from your CZcams channel for our videos about military cars, trucks a other machines? We tag your channel as a source ,... thank you. :)
By recognizing the camouflage of the helicopter, that is definitely military. I've seen these US Army UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters flying over my neighborhood before. The US Army is the biggest arsenal of Blackhawk helicopters in the United States Military.
+Clarence Gilbert That isn't even close to 100m away. That's like three disks max...sooo 45m? Thats beside the point, Blackhawks dont just magically explode, you'd at the very worst just get a fire so...yeah everything is safe there.
Hubert Harned I've crewed birds that landed within 20 feet of a fuel truck, that fire engine is miles away from "close". With a competent crew and a good pilot on the controls and can land anywhere that's a few feet larger than the disks. We do landings like the one in the video every time we do a static display somewhere. We put 4 birds into a soccer field at West Point every summer, no problem.
Helicopters aren't quiet dude. If you are referring to the specialised models used by the Seals during the OBL compound raid, those were quiet enough to slip past the nearby base, and remain off the radar, but they definitely still made noise.
Actually what you should be looking at is the exhaust ports, not the air inlets. Those are NOT Mike model exhaust outlets. Those are the HIRSS system exhaust modifications on a Lima model. The folding stabilator is NOT exclusive to the Mike model. I fix these for a living.
That's where you're wrong. Originally, the Mike was fitted with an IHIRSS system, it is almost identical to the Alpha/Lima set up, but with the addition of a few holes in places to facilitate better cooling. The UES came a few years after the Mike was introduced. Furthermore, there isn't a single Alpha/Lima in existence that has the folding Stabilator (The MH60, SH60 and HH60G have folding stabs), the hinge and actuator attachment fittings are different. The best way too tell the different models of UH-60 (A/L/M) is by the Main landing gear drag beam fairing (The little wing looking thing below the door.), on the Alpha it goes to the middle of the tire, Lima to the outer edge and the Mike (as seen in this video) has the LWR, making it boxy. The Mike also doesn't have the High Freq antenna on the left side of the tail cone as well.
+b00ce additionally the steps begins the cargo door don't have a hinged bracket covering those steps. also at the end when the blades start to slow slow down you can start to notice the 20 degree anhedral droop in the blade tips. further confirming its a UH-60M
+Keith Pattillo Yup, hadn't noticed the tip caps, had to stare at the fire engine to see them against the solid red. Also I have to admit this was right out of AIT, two years on I feel pretty foolish because yes now I can tell the difference between the drag beam fairings. The lack of the VHF antennas behind the pilot's doors, the shorter antennas on the tail boom. I'm wondering if this is a Guard bird. I've never come across a Mike post 2010 that didn't have the UES system installed.
As a crew member on a HH60M, I would have told them to do away with the dang safety tape, if this was a National Guard unit, they should of has someone on the ground during that landing. To many things could have gone wrong.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat a beautiful machine! I'm in love!

I believe its the mike because all mikes have folding stabilator correct? This one looks like its has a folding stabilator.
worked on these at Sikorsky. Now trying to go back into the Army to fly them.

I like how they parked the fire engine just close enough so if something were to go wrong, the fire engine would be taken out too.

I used to fly the UH1 up to West point from LI and we could get 6 Hueys on the ball field. Good memories !

VERY NICE LANDING!!!! :)
Get to the chopper everyone it's a zombie apocalypse now get to the Blackhawk!!!!
i thought black hawk helicopters were supposed to be quiet?

There's a silent mode on choppers
louis miguel yeah it's called engine off mode =)
A quiet helicopter? LOL
hueys are the quietest
That landed at our school today and I sat at the pilot seat

Dude that is a mike model, its easy enough to tell just from looking at the stab, the alpha charlie and lemma models dont have folding stabilators.

it is a Mike but why does it have hirss instead of a ues
Early Mikes had HIRSS. Some still do. UES is a fairly new thing for the UH series aircraft. The mike at the school house is equipped with HIRSS.
