Tell that guy sparring in the background if he cuts his hair he might be able to see the jabs coming 🤣
Frfr 🤣
Man chill I cut it 😭😭😭
Lmao
😂
And also stop raising his chin up just to see lol
I can't describe how useful was your journey, How great you are or How polite was you in every single reply.. Man any type of thanks would never express any feelings.. One word.. Please keep pushing 🙏.
thanks for your support and watching!
Bro you're so humble. Like you praise so much your training partners that you forget about yourself. I bet out of all the people you sparred with, you for sure have the hardest kicks.
thanks Luigi :)
Muay Femur is a lot like the style I use. I train Muay Thai for years but naturally my style is all about footwork and taking less damage. Very interesting and I have homework to do now thanks!
awesome! thanks for watching!
I'm still stuck in doggy
Yes, the video is so much smoother and easier to appreciate without the constant jittering. Thanks so much for the change! Nice sparring!
:)
Jeff, as a Femur style fighter myself, I always enjoy these videos of yours the most.....clean exchanges of a technical nature are the best to acknowledge learning points from and to me, look the best stylistically 🙌
Thank you!!!
Awesome game play Jeff! You guys looked razor sharp. Your longevity will reflect this type of sparring as will your skills.
thank you!!!
Both of you are very technical and smooth! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!!
They flow. its like flow wrestling, they know each other so well, they can just read everything lol.
love these videos keep up the good work
Thank you!!
Absolutely fantastic video, Jeff! Such controlled, high-level sparring from both of you here!
thank you brother!!
@@MMAShredded You're very welcome!
This is my Favorite style of Muay Thai, stick and move, counter, setting up traps, lots of feints, being very elusive, loads of different combinations. Super Awesome!!! Have you done any seminars lately?
in Australia this month! :)
I train here. You're the best coach I've had Mr. Chan
thanks brother I appreciate that!!
i love this type of sparring. And both of you have nice style !!
thank you
Oh man this was good to watch. Any chance you're going to do a technical breakdown with slowdowns and highlights?
I can do that yes!
you notice this isnt a fitness student so jeff isnt trying to head kick or go hard. the better the fighter the more likely jeff will play sissy foot with them.
but if this was a construction worker on his 4th month of taking classes 3 times a week. jeff would of tried to knock him out.
@@Teddy-se8qb good troll!!
@@strawhatpandashp5816 troll=facts
@@Teddy-se8qb Bro Jeff is a fighter in One Championship. He doesn't need to prove anything. He goes hard when the other guy goes hard. And guess what : the higher the level, the more controlled people are. So when he spars pros or high level guys, everyone stays controlled and nobody gets hurt.
idk why but i find watching the people sparring the background really entertaining
Hahaha
IM WACHTING THIS WHOLE THING IN SLO MO THIS VIDEO IS LITERALLY ART 🔥🔥🔥🔥
thanks man!
Wow, very nice and clean sparring. Awesome to watch!
thanks for watching!!
1:51 that question mark faint to cross to lowkick was very nice !! love the video
Thanks man!
what a great spar to watch!
well done guys
Thank you!
If most practitioners can spar this way rather than going 100% full contact every time, they'd be lightyears ahead of most people.
yes!!
Good clean technical sparring, awesome vid bro
Thanks manb
Dope as always I take lots of inspiration from your videos, but I'd like longer videos for sure.
you have to admit though...
in only 5mins there is a large chunk of fighting info that both of these fighters provide during their performance.
Thanks for your feedback
Muay femur is the style of my coaches and the style I try to follow. Great footage
thank you!!
Awesome Vid💪🔥🔥
Thank you!
Nice. Your gym and students are great.
osss
That's cool. I didn't know there were so many Thai styles. Nice one.
cheers!
Looks great Jeff. Got a great thing going there!
thanks Kevin!!!
Femur Style Fighter here pls more videos like this i love learning
oss!
Appreciate the content and the invite fam!
thanks bro!!
Very nice! beautiful sparring
thank you!!
Nice work/technique. I like working in from the outside with combo's and feints, getting in and out, and can also appreciated a straight forward, keep coming, cut you like butter style. It all depends on the opponent and the timing/opportunity.
Osss
Love it🔥🔥🔥
:)
guys like this is a nightmare to spare with because it's unpredictable and technical. good thing about these guys is that they don't go hard.
osss
Definitely a great and entertaining style...
I've been around karate (traditional karate, not sport karate) since a child, and been training for like 6 years now. Im about to get a black belt (which doesnt mean ANYTHING, just to put some context).
Around 6 months ago i really started getting interested in the combat sports type of training (i still practice karate tho) so i went to a thai gym near my house.
crosstraining was pretty easy for me (at least the basics), just had to switch a bit my bladed low stance to a more squared and standing, which wasnt hard, the rest are details.
Most of my partners are just tanks that stand still and take/give damage. Since i come from karate background im used to manage distance and timing (still trying my best to mantain the thai technique). i like trying counters and speedy "break ins".
After watching lots of videos of technical thai i feel im this type of style, since i dont really like trading shots (im not a very skinny guy but im lacking some volume and mass to go berserk) so i use my capacities on moving, creating angles, react/counter on speed, get fast snap high kicks etc.
Sometimes i get frustrated i cannot "stand and tank" or "trade" as heavily as my mates, but i think its way better to develop technique which in the long run will better your overall fighting game than just being a juggernaut, but thats my pov!!!
Main thing is just keeping at it and get better with every training !! Thanks for the content as always Jeff!!
thanks for watching brother!! cheers!
You want to watch muay femur style fighters or people that also transitioned from karate or tkd: check out guys like Ignacio Caplonch, Raymond daniels, Wonderboy, superbon, Saenchai etc
Im doing the opposite of you i train muay thai but love karate techniques and i go Southpaw in a bladed stance (i can fight in both stances cause im left handed) be a hybrid mate.. U just need to learn the weaknesses in everything u do and find a solution.. Also if u can't stand and trade u can still clinch.. Since i worked on my thai clinch a lot im not as scared when people go for the infight.. Hope that helps u good luck
@@SN-ym1sv thanks for the reply!
i know wonderboy from his karate origins and superbon/saenchai since they are thai icons (saenchai skills are just UNBELIEVABLE no matter what martial art/combat sport u come from u just gotta respect that man) but most def gonna check the others out! thanks for sharing names.
back to topic; from my karate training i can also spar in both guards since we usually train both sides (i feel this is an advantage in some cases) but the coach at my thai gym usually tell me to respect my orthodox stance and dont switch much (i differ, it limits feints, counters, etc). on another hand i gotta admit im still newbie for clinch and going into the pocket/infight (as u call it) is still my weaknes, fear the heavy trading and naturally space myself from opponent gaining distance to "restart" the attacks.
gotta improve on those weak points tho, thats the whole point!
Im glad u find karate interesting specially coming from a combat sports background.
Hope ur doing fine man :) !!! pleasure to trade words
@@SN-ym1sv also just found out ignacio caplonch is argentinian, just like me :)
@@matefx i love it and the martial artist in me just wants to see the other striking styles too so me personally i enjoy when people from a karate background don't forget their roots when they transition to full contact.. I don't know what karate style u trained in but one of my trainer is a kyokushin black belt and man these dudes can trade too that might also help u.. I have a tip for not annoying your trainer that helped me: u do every drill EXACTLY like he wants it so no snap kicks, we are not switching stances or throw fancy point fight stuff... But when it comes to Sparring i fight exactly like i want but kinda listen to the commands he yells.. And after training talk to your trainer and tell him your ideas.. That helps a lot so the trainer doesn't feel disrespected.. Worked for me on most coaches
I like a lot...takes a lot of maturity and experience to spar smooth like this.
cheers!
The best is still Muay Jeff. It is always improving and never stops.
ossss
That Straight blast in the first 10 secs!! 👌👌
oss
Jeff : "Which style are you?"
Me: Why are you running style
hahaha
awesome video. i had absolutely no idea there was 'different types' of muay thai; like femur.
thanks for watching!!
Love the video Jeff! Generally my style is Muay Mat but I will change it up into more of a Muay Femur style here and there when fighting bigger/taller/heavier opponents since I personally prefer not to stand & bang with those kinds of fighters.
osss!!! thanks for watching!
@mmashredded can you please do a video on Head Injury (CTE) and how you minimise it with all the sparring you do?
Don't get punched in the head 🤣
@@jwright8682 so you telling him to stop training because there is no way that you dont get punched. Really helpful dude
@@RickGrimes__ its a joke Karen don't start crying on me
@@jwright8682 ok
Unless your training for a real fight, dont do hard sparring. Other then that, headmovement seems the best idea lol
Gonna use some of these for tonight’s sparring
awesome
love this! Question, how do you anticipate your opponent trying to capitalize when you duck your head like that? I really like doing that in my sparring sessions too, but I worry so much about getting head kicked haha. Literally what happened at usman vs edwards.
I try to keep my distance when punching so I have more time to see whatever counter is coming. But you can get caught with anything yoh throw. You can get caught with a head kick from throwing a textbook jab or low kick. It’s just dependent on each fighters skill level
Thanks!
:)
Got some gold nuggets from this video to try in sparring next week👊How come spinning back and wheel kicks aren't seen much in Muay Thai?
hmm not sure!! they don't teach it much
Interesting. I came from a JKD group who also learned Muy Thai via Master Chai and Saekson Janjira. With the JKD foundation, I stayed on the outside, moved a lot, tried to hit and make the other guy miss very much like Muy Femur. My good friend and training partner both had had fights on the same card in LA and Kru Vut came up to us after the fight and said he was really impressed with how we fought, like real Muy Thai guys. I didn't really get it back then. But now finding out about the Muy Femur style, I get it. That's essentially how we fought.
Could you do a video on sparring gear? What's your favorite shin guards and gloves
Email me at jeff@mmashredded.com and I can send my recommendation!
Fun and technical sparring rounds, you know it's a good sesh when the place turns into a sauna by the end 🤣
hahahah yeah! thanks for watching!
This vid is so interesting and good for teaching my style, I'm a kickboxer and I'd like to have more of a muay thai style because I'm fast, any advice?
Wow I didn't know you guys supposed to New York city. I might just stop by😊
let me know :)
Bro me leaning in intrigued at the sparring.
"As you can see we are just warming up here."
haha
Im into the muay tae style of muay Thai. Im figuring out ways to blend what ive learned in muay Thai into my current study which is shito ryu karate :)
So technical!
Osss
You are Super Jeff 👏
Thanks bro!
beautiful
cheers!
Muay Femur is the best, high level stuff right here.
oss!
Brilliant sparring
thanks!!
Hey Jeff, great video again! I have a question for you. Do you ever keep track of your success to failure ratios during sparring? What I mean by that is when you are throwing punches and kicks, are you keeping track of the ones that would have done enough damage or considerable damage versus the ones you just throw for fun that really have no effect or reason? I am always curious about success to failure ratios, especially in sparring matches when it comes to high percentage skills and techniques vs lower ones. Thanks!
yes I do keep in track in my own mind what I feel would do significant damage and what wouldn't, but I don't really share that haha
Journal your sparring sessions! I highly recommend so that not only will you have a historical account of your progression, you can look back and remember techniques that you may have forgotten.
I'm the Jeet Kune Do style fighter (aka Muay Femur and/or Muay Mat).
Muay Femur because I intend to be smart.
Muay Mat because I intend to end the fight as quickly as possible.
cheers!
Nice and clean exchanges. Jeff would you consider also yourself a Muay Femur?
Also, seems like your leg flexibility improved!
yes I would consider myself as that :) thanks man I stretch everyday!
We're moving up now-ish, I will come up to the gym. I like how you guys move maybe we could learn something from each other.
definitely!
Lol high iq always getting a good laugh at your videos
Smooth.....👍🏻👌🏻
iss!
According to the description I am a muay femur. Like to use fakes, sweeps, set up "traps" and analyse patterns. I am not too tall either. Thanks for the video.
sweet!!!
Didn’t expect him to be that fast
yeah he is so fast!!
i tend to favor knees simply cause they are efficient with my body type (6ft5 160 pounds) so the knee is almost always there when somebody tries to close distance, though i tend to use low kicks and long punches to keep distance aswell.
Imagine if Jeff chan actually has to fight Yusuf in one championship
Awesome breakdown Jeff! 🥊
But why did the last part of the video fog up though? Were you guys sparring so fast that the air around you vapourised? 🤣
LOL the ventilation gets bad in the room!
@@MMAShredded HAHAHA! I see. Thanks Jeff. 😂👌
Welcome to NYC!
thank you!!
Next sparring sesh should be Nathan carnage would love to see that.
I consider myself a Muay Mat style with Muay Te, TKD was my first striking art and I always lead with low kicks and if I miss the round kick, re-chamber into side kick or spin for a back kick.
awesome!
Having a tkd background before getting into muay Thai, I've kind of always been a muay te. in both arts I just really like coming up with unorthodox and surprising techniques :P
cheers!!
I’m a muay smash fighter. Combat Sambo black belt and catch wrestler. I love your content ❤
nice!!!
Wow, how many rounds did you guys do ? You can sort of see everyone else dropping off, and eventually it's just a few guys remaining. Great video ! I would like to be a Femur fighter. But I'm just not technical enough yet. I have been practising footwork and lateral movement, and I try to fight either on the outside or in the clinch, but rarely in the pocket for sustained periods. I prefer, defend, move in with a combo, get out, reset, defend, change tempo, keep them guessing etc.
thanks for watching :)
Yeahhhh..
You beat this guy!
I’d say we were pretty even IMO
No way, you moved to NYC?! NIce!!
:)
How about a fighter mindset video? Like how to overcome self doubt. Etc
I've always wanted to study Muay Boran.
oss
The ladies say I’m a MUY GRANDE fighter.
how are u so much like cruz bro amazing movement ur the most agile fighter ive ever seen
thanks man!!
that looked gracious af, reminds me of fencing
Osss
Top 👏🏿👏🏿

Son got them Thundercats shorts on. Thunder Thunder Thundercats......
I'm still working on understanding my Muay Thai style. I feel like that takes years to understand.
Cheers!
I’m a mix with muay femur and muay mat , it just depends on my opponent I like to switch it up once in a while
awesome!
Love muay femur
:)
0:26 Smooooth Jeff
Thank you!
i guess im more into muay femur, but sometimes in sparring when its hella crowded its harder to stay on the outside
sweet!
You measured up equally well..
Yes!
are those primo gloves your new fave pair? been eyeing them for a while but never see a ton of reviews on them
Yeah they are nice :)
1:51 fake question mark kick, amazing
:)
I train solo for fitness, more Muay Mat offensively and Muay Khao focusing with knee feints to get inside
nice!!
Damn that had me on the edge of my seat no cap lol I’d rather watch you spar than watch a ufc ppv😂
:)))
i've been training muay thai for about 1 yr and a half now, and in my head when i heard about muay femur i imagined something like your style, but after this video i'm kinda confused about it. What do you consider being the style that displays techniques closer to yours? big hug from brazil!
I would say I am also a Muay femur haha!
You seem like a very guy. In my earlier years I was very much like you. I challenged always the strongest and biggest guys. Not necessarily in combat, but instead to see if I could apply the techniques I taught to smaller clients.
thanks for watching!
Definitely a muaymat/muay khao/sok style. I'm still working in my clinch and sweep game tho.
Sweet!
Kick-heavy switch hitter, works well for me
Cheers!
you guys are in NY thas not too far i would love to train there
come visit :)
Did somebody light a smoke bomb there at the end 😂
haha ya got super foggy!
does your signature low kick help you regain balance when it lands? it seems like @ 2:27 had that landed you would be a bit more planted on the back step.
it does and it helps me exit out from being hit!
