They are really great but they weren’t sharp either if I remember correctly. About the same as smart will if not a little more. Maybe they are better made though.
I love my Darn Tough. Original got them for riding socks, and now have replaced most my socks with them.. and you also have to love American made and lifetime warranty.

For cold weather I now include an alpaca wool blanket in the tent. Last winter I had an overnight where I forgot I left a skylight window in my RTT open and felt the cold air blowing in (we had been drinking a bit before turning in, so wasn't exactly being smart). I think it got just below 20F that night. I wore some thick clothing but burrito-ing myself in the wool blanket kept me warm all night. There was even a bit of ice by my face in the morning where I was exhaling moisture. Alpaca wool is just as insulative as sheep's wool, but far softer (no itch!). Lesson learned, check all the windows before turning in for the night :) Also, we just used our diesel heater, based on your diesel heater video, for the first time a couple weeks ago. While the temps got down to just below 40F-ish, we had to take off the sleeping bags and even open a window. It was very warm in the tent! Thanks for your videos!

I should mention that the menu is annoying to learn but once you learn it, it’s a great heater. Also going to be trying kerosene in the diesel heater this winter as a lot of folks have mentioned that it’s better at lower temps.

Yeah that size should be plenty. I ran my fridge off of an 800watt power bank for 2.5 days so 1480 should be enough. Granted what ever other power needs you have might change that. Let’s say you’re running a heater off if it all night, charging your phone, and fridge you’ll likely be using a ton of it where as just a fridge you’ll be fine.

So my fridge has the same electronic panel as yours. It’s a dual zone fridge. Ie: 2 doors/compartments that can run at different temps. There was a short cut sequence that I could do that would turn off either the left or right compartment when not needed.

There’s no second compartment on mine that can be turned off that I know of. Maybe I’m wrong though. Since it’s always one compartment with a divider I would assume that it can’t be turned off.

Do you power the heater pump with your Blue Eddy or some sort of solar gennie?I have a Jackery 1500, 500 and a 300. Wondered how much power it consumes during say an 8 hour night or do you not typically run it while you are sleeping?
@@tentsrus6945 it’s not a ton of power consumption. I used a 2000 watt eco flow. It uses maybe 10amps at start up for like 3 minutes and then like 1-2 amps after that. It’s 12v so you can use a wattage calculator to figure out how long your battery will last on it. I’d average it out to like 1.7 amps over a 8hr period with 12volts.
I keep seeing those. Have you tried them? I keep hearing how good they are but something about having fuel loosely in my pocket scares me a bit. Maybe I don’t understand how it works though.

I do also kinda do it in real life while I’m recording but it’s because in normal conversation I’m not thinking so hard so I complete the thought on a down talk. So as far as the sleeping bag goes it depends. Canvas sleeping bags are pretty heavy and bulky but if you got your hands on one at a good price they aren’t bad. A lot more durable but I’ve never really used one outside of when I was really young. I think a regular one is probably fine with Ripstop.

The diesel heater basically means you have to bring some light blankets also because it is so dang warm at night
