- Battle of BC 5 ended literally LAST NIGHT, and it had one of the most electric Top 8's ever! With a ton of top players in Japan in attendance who've we've not seen outside of their country, such as Yoshidora and Miya, as well as the usual top threats like Acola, Sparg0, and Maister, this top 8 was insane. But what was the most insane was that Acola KNEW he was gonna be reacted to on a Monday video, so he went Monke just for me in Grand Finals. What a champ!

thing is that the only person that he consistantly struggles against is spargo and DK is an actual viable option since the cloud mu isnt that bad. its not a bad move at all

@@DrSwazz I mean thats the DK lifestyle, DK can technically never land reliably. That being said, cargo throw messes up cloud a lot meaning he can get a lot of cheezy early kills
@@loadingname5499 Well yes, he doesn't land reliably but it's even worse in this case bc Cloud has a great, super safe anti-air game. Really, Cloud just has to look out for grab and dash attack. DK has to not get hit by nair, uair, or dair at ledge. Not to mention both characters have the same bair.

@@jaydenhohman2590 Yeah nah. His fundamentals are dogwater, so his DK is similarly dogwater. He did 140% on PS2 and got 2 stocks with gimme dingdongs. Just straight gimmicking because he knows he can't stand up to a player who isn't carried by an S++ tier at the top level. Nothing Acola ever does is noteworthy among his peers, and I'm convinced any regional-leveled DK main would completely trounce him in the ditto.
The only reason Sparg0 didn't 3-stock his DK twice is that he refuses to edge-guard and exclusively ledge-traps, even though DK literally CANNOT grab ledge vs. cloud when he sticks his sword out vaguely in his direction.

That's correct. Acola isn't a good player; he's good with Steve. The kid is actually bad at the game. Again, he did 140% damage and almost took 3 stocks; those were gimmick kills.
Look at players like Jake and Ddog. Both were absolutely bullshit before Steve came out, and then Ddog double elimed Tweek from a tournament. Steve carries anyone who touches the character regardless of skill.

He's not top 5 without Steve but yeah. I'd say he's carried still because Steve allows him to be so dominant even at times he should have lost. Though you could say that's just part of playing a top 3 character which is true enough.
If Steve was as light as he should be he gets like 9th here.
DK kills super early on ps2... if you only do 140 damage and take two stocks, you're gimicking.
Spargo could have just banned ps2 and would 3 stock acola.... he's not a top 5 player without Steve at all.
Acola has really bad habits from playing Steve (rolling in a lot) and it gets him killed on other characters
He is only blessed by Steve Forgiveness. That being said, he's still a top 5 talentwise.

Kameme had an unfortunate run in against one of his worst bracket demons. He has a pretty god awful match up record vs Shuton. Was pretty unfortunate that he had to take out Shuton to keep up the run.

Sparg0 is the best player in the world. Once he did his grind after summit, he came out for blood. Acola really tried to go fp2 on sparg0 and failed twice now and even went to a crusty dk to try and cheese him.

How did Leo lose this? He's not as good as the meta requires anymore. He has a 1 dimensional gameplay focused around spacing and basic mix ups. The better players are thinking 5 steps ahead, Leo is maxing out at 3 which is still good, great even but not good enough apparently.
