I’ll use myself as an example. When my great-great-great-great grandfather was amassing his fortunes for future generations, for which I am benefiting from today, others had nothing, not even the knowledge of who the grandfather was. My Grandparents owned a tenant building ,as they lived on the 1st floor , my family on the 2nd floor. The majority of Manchester consisted of generations of European and Canadian immigrants as it " was " a nice city.
One of my earliest memories is that of my Grandfather muttering in French " there goes the neighborhood " as a black family moved nearby around 1981. Now , in 2024 this very same neighborhood as well as much of the city which was once safe and kept up is now a crime ridden dump as my Grandfather was 100% spot on...RIP Pepere.
