    Name one active monarch doing actual work. Most monarchs go to flower shows, seniors homes, and horse racing. Queen Maxima is working on financial inclusion for developing countries. She had a career before marrying into a royal family. She's smart, educated and driven. She's giving back. I heard one king-in-waiting tell a Ukrainian refugee he met that all he could contribute were a few smiles here and there. Huh?? That's his skill set?? Queen Maxima is using her skills for the betterment of humanity.

    Because of financial inclusion, I was able to open a bank account and take out products on hire purchase to be able to “live”. Not everyone has loads of cash to purchase stuff and live comfortably. Some of us need help. Everyone wants to benefit and there’s nothing wrong with that. We live in a world where EVERYONE wants to win. So if the financial institutions are making money off of my money, then ok, at least I’m getting to live comfortably. If I am a billionaire that owns a financial institution, I too would try to profit off of your money so I could reach a trillion. Financial inclusion isn’t for everyone but in a world like this, it can be helpful.

    Does the Queen have to work? She works day and night for things you as voters did not care even to vote for! The Norwegian King (85) and his whole family work as hard as Maxima - not spending much time enjoying their privileges. Not caring about themselves, some of these people put in what they can muster of energy and competence for the betterment of the world. Who cares if this comes from a royal palace or from a slum? At least I am fully competent to appreciate this kind of work.

    • @theon9575
      @theon9575 Před rokem

      No, Queen Maxima does not "have to work". In fact, most people here in The Netherlands are not even fully aware of her activities as a UN volunteer in this regard.
      This is volunteer work that she freely choses to do in her spare time.
      In my own (paid) work experience in other countries with major charitable organisations, I often saw this paradox: that extremely hard working & busy people are yet often those who still find time to do volunteer or charitable work. They are usually, like our Queen, driven by personal commitment and strong sense of social purpose.
      As well, volunteer community work is highly valued and developed in The Netherlands, and strongly encouraged and supported by our Government. She's being Dutch.
      Queen Maxima, if anything, is simply "using" her status as Dutch Queen to help open doors and encouraging leaders in developing countries to see the value of micro-financing, especially of women, in making changes in impoverished communities. She does the same in The Philippines where I have lived - many Filipinos are not even aware of her full-time job as Queen Consort here.

      These people can do these volunteer jobs in their sparetime, because they have staff who does the work we commoners have to do ourselves in addition to our breadwinning job.
      They don't have to commute to their workingplace in overcrowded trains year in, year out, or queue in the supermarket, or worry if they can afford their children's education.

    If I could pick one person to erase from history, it would be the one who invented make-up.
    I have to add, this Queen is well-spoken and if she is not just being "on-brand" then I think she may be a good representative for her country.

      Yeah, me neither and let’s be honest royalty is all about tradition, fairytale and privileges. They don’t need to sell us how “hard they work” while wearing expensive clothes and ancient jewellery.

    Let’s be honest, her title is Princess. Queen is sort of a gloss for her position to give a semblance to the monarchy. However, she does wear the pants (and everything else) at home. Less important than she thinks. Needs to keep quiet more.

    I don't believe a word of what she says. Her father was Secretary of Agriculture in Argentina between 1979 and 1981 during the dictatorship. Thousands of people were killed or went missing at the time. Babies were kidnapped and placed with military families. If that was her family environment, nothing good come from her.
