I am very happy about this release. Several years ago I decided to try to collect every Thor series in collected editions but I had never read this run (stopped buying floppies after JMS left the book) and I was confused about how to collect it because of all of the events. I ended up not getting any of it. I hoped an omnibus might happen one day and now it is finally here. I own the JMS Omni but I would absolutely buy an expanded reprint with the Gillen issues that picked up where he left off. For honor! For glory! For Asgard!

A beautiful looking book, I will be interested in checking out the paper stock after a few disappointing recent releases. I wonder if a Marvel omni would look any better if they used the same printers DC does? (Would probably cost a bit more I guess.)

Are there issues missing between JMS’s run and this or does this bridge the gap? Or does the Journey Into Mystery Omnibus bridge that gap? I really hope they rerelease the JMS Thor omni soon. That’s a good run.

They spelled Olivier wrong on the cover and spine by leaving out the first "i" and just putting Olvier. They have it correct on the credits pages.

In my humble opinion this omni was top notch right up until after 'fear itself'. After that it was a struggle to get through.
Looking at this one and the Brubaker DD volume, it seems Marvel is using the logos on the spines again (instead of the smaller fonts)

This will never equal Walt Simonsons run, Jason Aaron's God's of Thunder run but it's still good.
So question...if you only had enough money for one, would you go for the Fraction Thor omnibus, Walt Simonson, or Heroes Return Thor vol 2?
Knowing Omar, he would 100% suggest getting the Simonson Omnibus. It's one of the best Thor runs according to tons of Thor fans.

the ages of thunder and the galactus arcs were the best in this omni. there have been better end time surtur stories than this "everything burns."

This omni is for completionist only. It’s the worst Thor omni that has been released to date. It’s not bad. Just ok.
