I wish they took the backup story from _Thor_ #1 and held it back until after #4, given it's a prelude to the story in #5-6 and doesn't have a direct connection to the story in #1-4 (Christian Ward even did a variant cover to #1 they could've used as a cover/title page for it). But aside from very minor nitpicks like that, yeah, this is pretty much perfectly mapped.
Vol 1 was my very first omnibus (of many already...) and is what brought me to this wonderful channel! I picked up the WotR omni last year as well and now I'm so excited to get Vol 2 next week!! 😁
I’m a huge fan of the run, it might be my favourite Marvel run, and it made me a fan of Thor when I was completely indifferent to him in the past. I caught up on the series in digital trades a little before the final Del Mundo run started and am really happy that I have it all physically and oversized now!
Oh yeah! Been waiting on this a long time. I don't understand why anyone would go for the direct market covers. Sure they're nice but Ribic's for vol 1 and Dauterman's for vol 2 are just perfect. They represent their respective volumes excellently. I haven't read Unworthy, War Of The Realms or those tie-in, and King Thor so I got some big surprises coming. I prefer the direct market cover, I love the piece of artwork they use on the regular cover but I don't like that they shrunk it down with those big fat borders. Not sure if wrapping it around would have worked at all but I don't like so much negative space with borders on Omnis.
That's a great point. I get they shrunk them to fit them on the covers, but they didn't have to so much. I'm not a fan of those grey borders honestly either. Well, as long as there is a Thor on the cover then that works.
I like the standard cover for this, and how it matches the standard covers for volume 1 and SORTA the War of the Realms omni just with red borders instead of grey. I really liked volume 1 which surprised me. Before that I never really card about Thor until Thor: Love and Thunder (yes, I like THAT one) and Adventures in Babysitting (lol!). Looking for to this one now. I'll probably re-read volume 1, or at least flip through it, to get myself back up to speed though. I hope the follow-up Thor run by Donny Cates gets an omni soon, now too.
There were a several crappy fill in artists during Jason Aaron's run, and I would prefer if Del Mundo stuck to covers, which are awesome, but I'm not a fan of his work on interiors.
Really happy to finally have this Omni in my collection. I love the Mighty Thor storyline because unfortunately I know how it plays out as my Dad lost his battle with cancer a couple years ago. Wish they would’ve done a more coherent translation in Love and Thunder
wow, nice that it looks as if all the variant covers are full page as opposed to Immortal Hulk omni, do you know if Aaron requested that the variants be full page and not in thumbnails??
Hey. I am so confused. I am trying to do the dark crisis reading order but it includes batmam #122. Batman #123. And batman annual. So where does batman #124 fit in?
124 is not necessary for dark crisis is at all, that annual is just setting up for Batman incorporated series by Ed brisson. Shadow war crossover is mainly to focus on Deathstroke after his Deathstroke Inc series to give context with Deathstroke being a main character in dark crisis.
This or War of the Realm Omnibus? I not really into all tie in and I’m not planning to get the first omnibus so the spine will be bit weird on my shelf being the second volume Thor omnibus. But I like collecting alot event omnibus too even if I don’t care about half the tie ins. My last few event omnis was AXE and Empyre. King in black I didn’t mind getting just in Venomibus

The mapping is similar to the Venomnibus by Cates and Stegman, with the King in Black mini series perfectly mapped with the Venom issues.
Just finishes reading vol 1 and you better believe im getting this one as well. 😅

The only double dips are War of the Realms #1-6 & Thor (2018) #8-16. Everything else is not in The War of the Realms Omni.
