R.E.M. - St. Mary's Church Steeple in 2011

With a special appearance from Stipe's old Taxi, as seen on the cover of Document...The owners of the Condo on the site have voted to have this steeple demolished... :(

Thanks for posting this vid. I visited there in '93 an '94. Someone wrote on it "Here it is, hurry up." Took pictures of it with a disposable camera but promptly lost it.

I have a promotional photo of the band standing in front of the church steeple. IRS Records sent it to me, with a copy of "Document" to review for the TCJC Music Section of "The South Campus Reflector." I know that they preserved the railroad tressle on "Murmur". Please keep the steeple!

Cool video. I saw the Steeple 3 years ago and there wasn't so many loose bricks as there are now. Looks like it took a beating. I do hope they finally preserve it.

From what I read, his dogs would chew up the cushions in the back seat of that. Lucky catch seeing that there. I had no idea it even still existed.

I didn't check that place out...the guy I talked had come over from there to show some friends the steeple. He said they are going to fight to keep the steeple up.
