Ahh, I've heard this. This was available to listen to on I believe OnlineAthens after When The Light Is Mine came out I believe. I like how the bass has hints of 'Shaking Through' in it.
My favorite of their unreleased, if not my favorite of all their songs. What's your source? The actual dialogue after the song is Michael asks, "Bill, how come you didn't sing?" Don (or Mitch) says "That was great!" and Mike says, "Yeah, we don't have a drummer anymore." The dialogue here sounds like what's before "All the Right Friends" on the Dead Letter Office/Chronic Town re-issue.
This should if been on murmer, I think it's better then most if the tracks on there!! It's funny what most people think what's good and what's bad!! I'm glad I'm not one of them!!
Sounds like Shaking Through, Radio Free Europe, and Pretty Persuasion all at once
I think this song felt more like their live shows than most of the material that made it onto Murmur.
Yeah, a lot of the Murmur stuff feels a little bit sluggish compared to their live renditions.
There's few greater joys than witnessing these fab four casually being themselves!
Should have been on Dead Letter Office
Has alot of REM songs in it. Mystery To Me, Ages of You, Radio Free, Bandwagon, Romance, Burnin Down. etc
How is there still so much undiscovered greatness from these guys??Love it.Hearing a bit of 'Ages of You' on this one.
I hear Burning Down.
Amazing how good, how young. They're about 20 years old here; Peter a bit older.
Is this still officially unreleased? Time to put out that career spanning box set with all the unreleased songs!
Agreed.
The Automatic Box Set
funny how it was always Mike Mills that counted them in, never Bill.
"Yes, rollin'; been rollin'."
OMIGOD! WISH THIS WAS ON THE ALBUM
Doesn't fit at all though...

Thank you for uploading.
Loved this since I heard it on the live bootleg show "So Much Younger Then."
fantastico..!!
Should have been included on the album!
"I'm not even gonna comment on that one."
Thank you very, very much Chout :-)
Wow! Your "closet" seems to have gotten much larger.
Thanks for all the new uploads!

That's Old Man Katsey....
He wants to be a feline. First, he's got to learn to scratch. He's gonna be a cat on a tennis match.
Lol nice!
They sure were great then weren't they...
sorry, I'm glad they kept working on it...
Doesn't seem to fit 'Murmur' at all...would have fit on 'Reckoning' however.
someone sent me a link to dl these audio files today.
@mrblisterfist In the wake of REM's demise, other people have been digging in their closets!!!!
A bit West Side Story. Good tune.
Leave the kitty out of it.
you gotta smackarack it!
Is Michael actually singing lyrics in the verses or just singing melodies?
the beat on murmur? really? did I miss this on murmur for 20+ years?
yeah man, you missed it
Shame they nixed this one...

Yes. I don't hear it at ALL.
