- There is no doubt that I am a huge fan of Lea Salonga and the musical she first starred in, Miss Saigon. She also starred in a lot of other musicals, like Les Mis, Flower Drum Song, and Allegiance. But Miss Saigon is probably the best one and my favorite out of all. Miss Saigon finally has a Broadway revival after so many years, and it's stars Eva Noblezada in the title role. This video is just a small tribute for my love for Lea and Miss Saigon. Hope you enjoy it!

Tvu, I saw Lea in the original cast on Broadway, some 30 years ago. I went on to see the show 6 more times in the ensuing years. I never saw this video until today. I am crying my eyes out. The show was absolute perfection and the amazing Lea Salonga still holds a place in my heart.
To have seen her in person playing this role is a cherished memory
I saw it the first time, by my myself, boy oh boy, my TEARS won't stop. I can't hold my emotions. The second time around with my hubby, the show capture again my emotions but Less tears this time. Thanks god for that.

That's my biggest regret, that even though I watched Miss Saigon twice, Lea Salonga was no longer the Kim. I'm glad people are posting videos of the performance; not quite the original performance, but sure is better than nothing.
I think the main reason why Lea stands out to the rest of the Kim is her ability to deliver the song with all its emotions without compromising the technical vocal requirements needed. Her ability to deliver a soft and powerful runs when it’s needed it’s just phenomenal.
Definitely yes kabayan! Exceptional talent beyond compare. I love how she delivers her acting and singing prowess so clearly and pleasant to everyone's ear. Super galing ang linaw ng lyrics nya at never na di mo naintindihan ang message of her acts. She still is the Philippines' pride.

Agree! Kitang kita mahal na mahal nya ang kanyang ginagawa. She puts her self in the situation kaya ang ganda ng kinalabasan ng act at singing. First time to watch her.😍😍
Plus she can learn a song within a short span of time.. in an interview I heard 10-15 mins. She can sing and memorize a new song
That’s the advantage of being the one who originated the role. Everyone else will be measured with her performance. Too bad for the others who followed because Lea had already set the bar too high with her excellent portrayal of Kim.
The sun and moon represents Kim and Chris. Just like a tangent line. They will both cross each other but the cannot be together. As the sun fades, the moon shines. They only met before dawn and separate again. 😭😭😭 Just like Lea and Chris.

Its 2020 of march! Lea Salonga's acting and singing prowess is a statement of an artist world class! Proud to be a Filipino!
and she could achieve. But people in America got so sick of the Filipino Pride drama. So Lea eventually the American national anthem in a sporting event. No doubt Lea has an American passport already.

During her audition, I saw her a very young, youthful and innocent girl, yet the transition of her look during the play was so beyond my expectation. She is damn so into that “character”. Now, what made my in tears in that on how emotionally she brought that on stage while singing with clear and clean angelic voice and a lot more during the transitions of her voices on diffrent scenes. I love it. I wish I were part of that Gold time to witness the play.
One of the most demanding roles ever! Not only is it amazing how she's perfection in her portrayal of the character her, she's able to act years "younger" and she transitions to all those low and high notes incredibly smoothly!

I have actually watched Ms. Leah Salonga perform Les Miserables over 22 yrs ago in Edinburgh, Scotland. We had dinner after the show and I was very quiet all through dinner. I was in awe . . . It’s like a new world has opened up before me. My heart was overflowing my brain was in shock, but I couldn’t feel my body . . . It was the most magical and wonderful experience to this date and I am almost 65 yrs of age. I adore Ms. Leah Salonga as an artist. She makes me very emotional every time I watch her. She is the total package. Bravo Ms. Leah ! ! !

Oh my gosh, how I ended up here. I'm streaming youtube for 6 hrs. I just watched the new version of the "A Whole New World" and compared it to the original which is sung by Miss Lea ofcourse and Brad if am not mistaken. Then went to another version, a Philippine vers sung by Morissette Amon and Darren Espanto( it's a sample only because the official song or the Music Video will come out very soon for the sole purpose of the Live action Movie of Aladin). Then, I watched all stuffs about Miss Lea and I ended up here. She's trully a Broadway Diva/Queen.

"How in one night did we come so far" so sweet yet very painful. Just because of that one night kim learn to hope and to believe to the impossible things. This musical is so so painful. It made me cry right now dang it!!!!
Since the first time I saw Miss Saigon, I believed that Miss Saigon was written for Lea Salonga. She built up the character Kim and no one could ever surpass her amazing talent and portrayal of Miss Saigon. Most deserving of awards and accolades.

This is one of the very powerful scenes in MS 4:27 - 7:14. I grew up listening to MS and had never seen the actual performance. Watching this now gave me a torrent of tears. It is still my dream to watch MS live. Thank you for posting this.

I was new in NYC and preparing for my NCLEX exam I told myself that I’ll see her when I pass the exam,when I pass the exam,10 newly minted nurses who happens to be Filipinos when to see on a Wednesday night we were so excited to See Miss Saigon that was 25 years ago,and saw it five more times,Lea Salonga the one and only.

I saw her in the West End in original production, original cast. Spectacular. Have seen Miss Saigon four times on stage. Original and 25 th anniversary production in London. Then on Broadway and at Kennedy Center. But the first time was still the best. It always makes me cry
