I’m also a theatre actor, not quite professional yet but that’s the goal. People don’t realise how much this wipes you out. It’s physically and mentally demanding. Doing a full 8 hour work day, then shoving some crap sandwich down your face as you drive to the theatre to get into hair and make up, then putting on whatever weird costume you have that was designed by someone who hates humans XD. Most of the time at show week I live on energy drinks and caffeine. Iv has so many costumes that were SO UNCOMFORTABLE it was literally hell. But the adrenaline rush of being out there is so worth it! My worst outfit by far was the nun outfits for Sister Act. Jason Jayawardena The common misconception is that screen acting is easier because you can always "do over." That's simply not true; if an actor isn't giving it their all, the director can yell, "Cut!" all she wants, but the performance isn't going to be the best it can be unless the actor delivers, same as in theater. Ask any screen actor who truly gave it their all.

It's because here in philippines, not many people are watching theatrical performances. It was not our custom, so we wouldn't be a judge of how great Lea is, but we all know that she is the first filipina ever to play in Miss Saigon, and on top of that, the main role. We are very proud of her for reaching international bounds and seeing how international people react to her talent and abilities makes us also see and appreciate the talent that she has. But Filipinos are not new to singers, so in regards to voice, it is evident how great and astounding Lea is among other artists. It's just that she is performing more in theaters that we don't have access to seeing how great she is in performing.

They gave great performances but it's more realistic to use people of the correct ethnicity for those roles. Having said that - I recently saw a production of Amadeus with a black guy playing Salieri who did a good job - but yeah - having the wrong ethnicity for a historical role is kinda dumb.

No matter how many times I see any of these scenes I never stop feeling just complete awe. They're all amazing and the acting is so intense and raw and genuine. But Lea. Man, Lea. You forget it's an act. Those emotions. That voice. She's a legend. The cast here is full of amazing actors and singers, but Lea just blows my mind.

Lea Salonga you are the best. I saw Miss Saigon in New York, but it was your understudy. I wish it was you. I watched this video several times and it always makes me cry. Your singing and acting is superb.
