@@Zeal846 , I will never understand the logic that because alcohol is an extremely dangerous and damaging drug that other dangerous and damaging drugs should be therefore legalised and made more readily available. My parents and grandparents experienced times of such poor standard of living that most people who bleat about 'poverty' and 'austerity' don't know the meaning of the words, and yet their generations were largely sober and drug free in spite of their hardships. For some reason this country is filled with people intent on its self destruction.

Pretty simple to ban it in legislation. But just look how effective that policy is for all illegal drugs. Only an idiot would not see that illegality creates all the problems associated with drug use for the wider public. It would be a far better idea to ensure safe supply and good healthcare provision. The tax could be ringfenced to provide the healthcare and its far better in the hands of the state (assuming they don't piss it all up the wall like they did with COVID), than it is in the hands of organised and disorganised crime.

While this option provides relief, I’ve considered growing my own plants, which would yield more for a fraction of the cost. If he had ever tried it, he would know it's nonsensical to even suggest it could cause violent crime - it has a mellowing effect, that's the point.
Weed smokers don't deny this because they like weed, they deny it because its a fact. An alcohol drinker or cocaine user, for example, would be fine with saying they cause issues and potentially violence - but no weed smoker has ever claimed it has made them violent, there has to be some weight put on that.

I quit university 8 years ago due to my mental health, and this time around I'm on track to get a 1st class degree because I've been using Cannabis on the days I struggle to be functional.
As a Psychology student I can also share peer reviewed research papers which go against your opinion. Medicinal Cannabis (Not CBD) helps bring people back in to their parasympathetic nervous system, which is a tremendous benefit for people who have severe trauma. Trauma is stored in the body and in the nervous system, and this is effective for PTSD and other neurological disorders like Epilepsy.
Medical Cannabis won't cure someone of PTSD, but it can make life with chronic mental health issues or chronic pain more managable

Anti depressants change brain chemistry and you can’t just stop taking them, should that be banned? Should we ban sex and relationships because some people are abusive or have sex addictions? That argument is stupid. I have MS too, run a successful hairdressing business and have medically prescribed cannabis oils and plants at night time to alleviate my symptoms. What’s the other option?
